Love Comes To Me

Chapter 451: Giving her a big gift

Mrs Matriarch left the café with a not-so-good look on her face.

Juana's last words were particularly heavy on her heart. If she waited for a result that was not as good as she wanted, would she be unforgiving? After taking a taxi home, Mrs Matriarch had been preoccupied all day.

In the evening, Hector returned and the family gathered around for a happy dinner.

Mrs Matriarch looked at the warmth and affection between her son and daughter-in-law and found it even more difficult to talk about it.

After dinner, while Eloise went to her room to take a bath, Mrs Matriarch called Hector, Mr Fletcher and Rupert into the study. The other three were baffled and Rupert jokingly said, "Mum, it's a family meeting, that one hasn't arrived yet, and my sister-in-law hasn't come yet."

"

Mrs Matriarch shook her head and said in a rush, "No wait for your sister-in-law, she can't know about this."

Rupert was surprised, "Ah, what is it that you can't tell your sister-in-law."

Mrs Matriarch gave him a look and Rupert had the good sense not to speak again, but grew more and more curious.

"Mum, what's happened?" Hector asked stoically, with a few moments of concentration, knowing that Mrs Matriarch would not be so nervous if it wasn't important.

Mr Fletcher echoed, "Go ahead."

Mrs Matriarch looked at Hector, wanting to say something.

Hector asked tentatively, "Something to do with me?"

Mrs Matriarch sighed softly and finally spoke, "Hector, what would you do if Solomon's real mother came looking for you?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the study became so quiet that a pin drop could be heard.

After a moment, Rupert snorted with laughter and said joyfully, "Mum, there have been many women posing as my little nephew's real mother over the years, but in the end they all turned out to be fakes, so don't worry about it." Mrs Matriarch gave him a look without speaking.

Hector said lightly, "Rupert's right, there's no real mother, Solomon's mother is Eloise."

Rupert put his hands and feet up in agreement: "Yes, look how close my little nephew is to his sister-in-law, he's my own son.

Mrs Matriarch was slightly relieved but extremely uncomfortable when she thought of Juana's words on her knees, crying and pleading.

"Someone came to see you and said it was Solomon's mother?" Hector asked with a keen awareness of the problem and an expressionless face.

Three pairs of eyes were fixed on Mrs Matriarch.

Mrs Matriarch nodded and told the story of what had happened in the past two days.

"No way!" Just as he finished, Rupert shouted, "It must be a fake, Mum, I'm telling you, it must be a scammer, scammers are so good nowadays, they've moved with the times, look at you, you're an old man, you can get soft on your knees and cry, there's no such thing as a good thing under the sun."

Mr Fletcher also shook his head and said, "I don't think it's credible either."

Over the years, so many people have come to impersonate Solomon's mother that the Rogers family has become uncomfortable and the first reaction is another bogeyman.

Hector didn't say anything, his eyes sinking slightly.

Mrs Matriarch said, "I didn't believe it at first either, she had a picture of Solomon."

Rupert said, "The photos of our baby are available on the internet and have been exposed by some unscrupulous media, so it's not really private, who knows if it's some woman who wants to marry my brother and is looking for a scolding." But he stopped talking when Mrs Matriarch pulled out the photo.

Just because of those two photos, it is immediately obvious that the person in them is a newly born baby, and the background is still a hospital, a photo they don't even have of Mrs Matriarch=s house, it could only be Solomon's mother. Instantly, the study fell silent once more.

Hector's eyes drifted over the two photographs, his eyes dark and uncertain, making it impossible to guess what was going through his mind.

"This, this photo..." Rupert opened his mouth and held it up for a long time, looking across the photo and muttering, "It is indeed my young nephew, and it doesn't seem to be a composite."

He took the photo again and said to Hector, "Brother, it doesn't look to me like the photo is a fake."

Mrs Matriarch said, "I also believe her because I saw these photos, which no one would normally have, and even if it's not Solomon's mother, it at least shows that she was present when Solomon was born."

Rupert stopped talking and stole a glance at Hector's face with some difficulty.

If this really is Solomon's real mother, what about the sister-in-law?

...

When Eloise came out of the shower with wet hair, Hector was already in the bedroom and saw her and brought a dry towel over to mop her hair.

Eloise laughed at once.

She enjoyed Hector's service and was bubbling with beauty.

"Hector, tell you something."

"Hmm."

Eloise deliberated for a moment and said, "Mum seems to have something on her mind, I see she has been distracted for the past two days, I don't know if she is not feeling well, I asked her and she refused to tell me, why don't we take her to the hospital for a check up?"

Hector did not speak for a long time.

Eloise turned her head, looked at Hector and prodded, "May I?"

Hector grinned, "You forget, she just had a medical check-up two months ago."

"Yeah oh, look at my memory." Eloise laughed too, "That's when we spend too little time with her, she's not happy anymore, so we still need to make more time for her."

Hector looked at Eloise, who was so bent on her mother's welfare, and his heart softened to a fault. He looked down, kissed the top of her hair, and thought to himself, this person, so good, is his. Turning to what had just happened, his eyes flickered back to normal.

...

After Juana left the cafe, she turned the corner and a five-star hotel appeared in front of her and she walked in.

A few minutes later, she was in the suite and met Agnes.

"Miss Eloise, everything went down just as you arranged."

Agnes wore a black dress, her body much fatter because of her pregnancy, even the lines of her face were a little rounder, instead of looking so mean.

She laughed, "Very well, did she believe it?"

"She believed most of it after I took the pictures out." Juana recalled, recounting Mrs Matriarch's performance.

"Talking to your family? Very well, very well." Agnes said evenly as she walked over to the recliner in front of the window and sat down, carefully nursing her stomach.

Juana followed him over and said, "So what do I do now?"

Agnes rubbed her stomach a little at a time, didn't say anything immediately, gazed out of the window, and after a long time, with a soft smile, said leisurely, "Don't rush yet, until then, you go and find Eloise." Juana was puzzled. She had agreed to contact Hector's mother first and thought she was keeping it from Eloise, but why was she suddenly going to her?

Agnes gave her a sidelong glance and said slowly, "Can't figure it out?"

"Yes." Juana said honestly.

Agnes wiggled her slender fingers into the light and said, "Because, the Rogers family won't tell her, and I, for one, am about to give her a big present."
