Chapter 5
Chapter 5
“My grandma wishes for me to marry you and take care of you and your child for life. Are you willing to marry me?” Winston asked straightforwardly. Though he was speaking of such a significant matter as marriage, his gaze remained detached, as if merely fulfilling a responsibility.
Eileen couldn’t help but find the situation amusing. She flicked her long hair back and looked at the man opposite her. “Do I look like someone who can’t find a husband?”
She was stunningly beautiful, almost breathtakingly so.
“Ms. Norman, are you not wanting to marry me?” Winston’s l*ps curled up slightly, a hint of relief hidden within.
“Although you’re powerful, wealthy, and handsome, I’m not interested,” she stated with
resolve.
A look of slight surprise appeared on Winston’s handsome face. It seemed like he held. no attraction for her, which was exactly the outcome he desired.
Mutual disinterest, just as he wanted.
“I would like you to meet my grandmother in person.” He spoke again, knowing that only Eileen could dissuade his grandmother from what she intended.
His heart, after all, was burdened with responsibility for another woman.
Eileen pondered for a few seconds, then asked, “Did you really acquire QR?”
“From now on, I am your boss. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” Winston assured her. that even if he couldn’t marry her, he would still look after her professionally.
Eileen blinked, and said, “Alright then, Mr. Nielsen. Thank you and goodbye.”
Winston was stunned again. Never before had a woman disregarded him like this.
He got up to leave, and Eileen let out a small sigh of relief. At that moment, Jenna, her assistant, peeked in. “Eileen, what did you and Mr. Nielsen talk about? Does he like you?”
“Who said he liked me?”
“The whole company is talking about it. He kept staring at you in the meeting room.” Jenna had to share the gossip with her.
Eileen felt annoyed. It seemed Winston had caused her trouble. He should just focus on being a boss, and she would be his employee. Hopefully, he wouldn’t appear in front of,

her again.
Standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, Eileen picked up her phone and finally dialed her father’s number.
“Hello! Who’s this?” said a familiar voice from the other end.
Eileen felt a twinge in her nose as she called out on the phone, “Dad, it’s me! It’s Eileen.”
“Eileen? Where have you been these five years? I couldn’t find you.” Tyree’s voice was filled with surprise.
The bond between a father and a daughter will endure. How could longstanding resentment survive? Eileen’s eyes brimmed with tears. “Dad, I’m sorry. I’ve been living abroad all these years. Now, I’m back in the country for work.”
“That’s good. When will you be home?”
“I’ll… I’ll be home in a couple of days.”
“Alright, as long as you’re healthy and safe. It’s my fault for sending you away.”
“Let’s not talk about the past.” Eileen comforted him. Having endured so many hardships, she didn’t want to dwell on those memories.
“Come home soon, then!” Tyree sighed deeply.
After hanging up, Eileen took a deep breath. She still didn’t want to go back to that home. As long as her father was healthy and worry-free, that was enough for her.
At that moment, Vice President Mason knocked and entered her office, holding a box. “Eileen, I’ve got something for you.”
Eileen looked surprised at the box he placed on her desk. “What’s this?”
“Take a guess.”
Eileen saw the words “Skyline Heights” on the box, reminiscent of a real estate development name.
“Just tell me!” she said with a laugh, not in the mood for guessing.
“Skyline Heights, worth 24 million, a luxurious flat measuring 4,000 square feet, fully. furnished, top-notch property management, ready to move in… You deserve it.” Mason rattled off the details and opened the box, revealing six keys and a card.
Eileen frowned. “Is this for me?”

“Eileen, Mr. Nielsen specially arranged this, swapping your apartment out for this luxurious flat at Skyline Heights. Surprised? Unexpected?”
“Take it back, I don’t need it.” Eileen declined coldly. She didn’t want to accept any favors from the Nielsen family. Her mother’s death had led to a painful childhood for her.
Although her mother was posthumously honored, Eileen had lost her dearest person.
Mason stood there, stunned for a few seconds, thinking, ‘Such favorable treatment, yet she refused?’
“Eileen, you’re not joking, are you? This is special treatment, just for you!” Mason, 35 and single, had fallen for Eileen, a young and beautiful woman, at first sight. He didn’t expect that Winston had already made his move.
“Tell Mr. Nielsen that I don’t need any special treatment at the company,” Eileen said firmly, pushing the box toward him, insisting once more. “Take it away.”
“Don’t be like that, I can’t explain it to him if you don’t accept it!” Mason was sure that Winston, the head boss, had taken a liking to this girl.
But Eileen was resolute. “Send it back, I really don’t need it, thank you.”
Seeing her seriousness, Mason had no choice but to take the keys away. Meanwhile, Winston wasn’t at his Empire Group office but was working in the main office of Treasure Studio.
“Mr. Nielsen, Eileen wouldn’t accept it, no matter how much I tried to convince her,” Mason reported with a helpless expression.
“Right.” Winston’s eyes were deep and inscrutable. This was expected.
If he could repay the debt of gratitude materially, it would free him from binding marital commitments.
At the Norman’s residence…
Tyree had just returned home and, seeing his wife watching TV on the sofa, he let out a contented sigh. “Caitlyn, guess who called me today.”
“Who?” Caitlyn looked at him curiously.
“Eileen. She’s been living abroad all these years. No wonder I couldn’t contact her,” Tyree said happily.
He didn’t notice his wife’s face darken, resentment seeping into her eyes. She snorted, “Why are you still thinking about her? She embarrassed you back then. Don’t let her

come back.”
“Uh, Caitlyn, I’ve been thinking. Eileen isn’t like that, there must’ve been a misunderstanding. It’s been so many years. Let’s let bygones be bygones.”
“What misunderstanding? Brittany caught her going in and out of those places in the middle of the night. The evidence is conclusive.” Caitlyn was surprised that Eileen, whom she had driven out, had returned.
She thought, ‘Is she eyeing the family’s assets, hoping to come back for a share? Hmph! That’s all for my daughter. She shouldn’t even think of getting a penny.
Seeing his wife displeased, Tyree didn’t say more and went upstairs, tired.
Caitlyn quickly grabbed her phone and dialed Brittany’s number.
“Hi, Mom.”
“Brittany, guess who’s back?”
“Who?”
“That little wretch Eileen called your dad today. She’s back.”
“What? She has the nerve to come back?”
“She must be eyeing our assets, wanting a share. But as long as I’m here, she can’t take a cent.” Caitlyn sneered sharply.
“I managed to kick her out five years ago. If she comes back, I can kick her out again, Brittany said confidently.
