Chapter 33
I swing the door open to see Andrew standing there, and my heart breaks. Where is Sebastian?
"Oh Andrew, thank god." Fiona mutters before falling into his tight embrace. "I knew you would be okay. What happened? You had me so worried."
"It was insane," he says in her hair, "we followed Evangeline's dad to where the so called rouges where and they tried to attack us. Sebastian saw it coming, he's nuts but he's always right-"
"Where is he?" I cut in, not having the willpower to wait a second longer.
"He should be on his way to the pack house, I didn't have time to tell him where you were." He says and I immediately run over, trusting Henry with Caroline. I move as fast as my legs can carry me along the pathway until I see the pack house come into view. Swiftly, I shoot up the stairs to the porch and swing the door wide open. "Sebastian!" I shout, running inside. "Sebastian!"
Suddenly I hear footsteps and I turn to see him standing in the doorway. "I told Andrew to make sure you were safe-"
Before he could finish I rush and press my lips to his, savoring every second of it. His arms wrap around me, pulling me tight against his chest, almost hard enough to feel his heart beat. I pull my lips away and gaze up at him. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. I'm the one that supposed to be asking about you."
He swallows, "I knew what was going to happen, and it did. Evangeline your father played us but he, he died while everyone started to fight. There was so much going on that I lost track of him, and I don't know who killed him but I saw his body."
I glance away and Sebastian kisses the top of my head. "It's fine, everything will be okay." I reassure myself. "I'm not going to let this affect me, I'm not going to change."
"What are you talking about?" Sebastian tilts my head up gently.
"Fiona and I, we talked. She really helped me Sebastian. I'm going to get over this and I'm going to be myself again, not this... monster anymore. It's not what I want, it's not who I am." My eyes search his. "I'm not going to let Caroline grow up thinking that this is who I am."
He pulls me in close and I squeeze my eyes shut, wishing to never leave his arms. "Where is the body?" I ask, cutting straight to the point. "I need closure."
"Maybe out by the border still, I'm not sure. I ordered a few guards to clean up the mess."
"How many did we loose?"
"Three guards, but we stopped them all. No rouge got out of there alive." He strokes my cheek, helping me understand that the giant mess, built up by lies, is over. "We have nothing to worry about from them anymore."
I pull away and lean against the wall. "He was a traitor, and he treated me like crap, but I hope he didn't suffer."
"The neck was broken, if I had to infer what happened, I would say he passed quickly." Sebastian tells me and I relax a bit. "I'm sorry that it had to end this way."
"There's no reasons to be sorry, on the inside I'm sure I saw it coming."
"Where's Caroline?" He asks.
I sigh, "she's with Henry back at Fiona's." He nods and I reach out to grab his hand, enjoying the warm feelings it gives me. "I love you Sebastian, so much that it scares me sometimes because I don't want to loose you like everyone else. But I can't live my life upset and angry at everyone, and I'm sorry if I made you stop loving me because of it."
"I could never stop loving you Evangeline, you mean everything to me. You are the reason I get up in the morning and live. A life without you is something I could never imagine." He looks at me lovingly. "You've inspired me to be a better leader though you were struggling, because even at your weakest, you are stronger than anyone I have ever met. You will get through this."
I wrap my arms around him and I rest my head on his chest. At the beginning I thought I was matched up with the worst possible mate, but in the end the moon goddess did know what she was doing. I am forever in debt to her for this. Though my father is dead, I am not alone. I will try to earn Henry's trust back, and I will do anything to receive Fiona's forgiveness, and Sebastian and Caroline will always be by my side.

Gazing down at my fathers body, I nod. Two guards lift him up and place him inside the grave before beginning to shovel dirt on top of him. Looking away I see Sebastian and Caroline behind me, Caroline resting in his arms.
"Are you okay?" Sebastian asks.
"I'll be okay," I say while stroking Carolines soft, little cheek. "We'll be okay."
Sebastian, Caroline, and I make our way back to the pack house, leaving the guards to finish their work.

"Wait up!" I shout as I hop across the small stream. I follow Olivia as she runs through the trees, running away from me. "Slow down, I'm going to die!"
"You need to hurry up!" She playfully shouts and I move my legs as fast as they can. "You know what would be nice? If we could shift!"
"Only a few more years!" She shouts again and I shake my head.
Finally she comes to a stop and I jog up beside her. "How far out are we? We didn't pass the borders right?"
She shrugs, "who cares, your dads the alpha and mines the Beta , it's not like we'll get in trouble."
I roll my eyes and look to the side. In the distance I see a small building hidden behind the trees. "What's that?"
"Let's find out." Olivia drags me towards the building and as we get closer I figure it looks more like an old cabin of some sort. "Wow, this place looks creepy."
I nod. "Should we go inside?"
With no door, we wonder in the cabin and search around. The rooms are empty upstairs besides one at the end of the hall, the only thing inside is a dresser missing all but one of its drawers. I run my fingertips along the wood while Olivia roams around downstairs. Looking at the side of the dresser I notice something carved in the wood, a name. "Evangeline," I whisper out loud. "Mom?"
"Your mother yes."
I turn around to see the moon goddess standing behind me, looking more graceful and more beautiful than the times before. "Why is my mothers name here?"
"This was her bedroom, a long time ago before she met your father." She tells me and I sit down on the floor, analyzing the room more carefully.
"My mom lived here? Why?"
"Maybe one day she will tell you all about it," she says. "Your mother is a strong woman Caroline."
"I know, her parents died and stuff," I mumble.
Olivia calls to me," Caroline let's go! It's almost dinner time and they might find out we crossed the border!"
I look up at the moon goddess but she is already gone, so I get up and hurry back downstairs to where Olivia is waiting for me. "What were you doing up there?" She asks.
"Just looking around, it's a cool place."
She glances back at the abandoned cabin, "ya, maybe we can make it like our secret place? We can come back and do whatever we want."
I nod and we quickly make our way back to the pack house. When we walk through the front door I notice Olivia's mom talking in the kitchen with my mom. "Hey girls, where'd you run off to?" My mom asks and I look over at Olivia.
"Just over to the tire swing," she lies and smiles at me.
"Okay well your dad should be home any second so let's get the table set."
While Olivia and I set the table I overhear our moms talking in the kitchen. "You know they're lying to us Fiona."
"Oh of course they are."
"As long as Sebastian and Andrew don't know what they were up to they should be fine. But one day this 'crossing the borders' thing will bite them in the ass."
I look up at Olivia to see a terrified look on her face. "They know," she mouths and I hold back my giggles.
"As long as our dads don't know, we'll be fine." I mouth back and she seems to relax.
"Girls, come grab the glasses," Olivia's mom calls to us and I pull her into the kitchen.
"Uncle Henry!" I shout and run towards him. He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder.
"I'm going to throw you in the pool!" He threatens and my mom sighs.
"Go ahead, just don't come back in here all dripping wet."
I scream as Uncle Henry carries me out back and towards the edge. "No, please! Don't do this!"
"It's too late!" He cries before chucking me out and over the water. Suddenly I splash into the pool and feel the cold water surround me with no escape. Quickly I surface and see my dad coming into the backyard, but he holds her finger to his lips as he creeps behind Uncle Henry. I giggle to myself and Uncle Henry gives me a weird look before my dad pushes him in the pool. I cheer and laugh uncontrollably when Uncle Henry comes up with a glare on his face.
"Sebassy, why?" He fake cries.
"Sebassy?" I look at my dad curiously and his face goes blank. "What's that?"
"It's your dads secret nickname, and he loves it."
My dad crosses his arms. "Henry don't do this, first my mate and now my kid? Stop spreading that stupid nickname."
A devilish smirk rises on my face and I get out of the water. "Sebassy will you get me a towel? Sebassy where's mom? Sebassy! Sebassy! Sebassy!" I cry and my dad picks me up and throws me back into the pool.
"Dinners ready, now dry off!" Mom yells from the back door and we all go in for food.
