Chapter 9

Chapter 9

In the early days of our marriage, we often had small arguments.

Each time, he would be the first to give in.

He would buy all kinds of flowers and sweets to cheer me up. I was also very clingy, constantly sending him messages. We were like an ordinary couple, simple and in love.

But everything changed later on.

I habitually shared my daily life with him, but he found me annoying.

Someone was there to share things with him. face–to–face, which felt more intimate than me, separated by several floors.

The first time I met Damon was when I was bored and decided to follow my father to his department to learn.

Damon was wearing a white lab coat, with messy blonde hair casually falling over his forehead, exuding a youthful yet rugged charm.

I was instantly captivated.

After that meeting, I became unusually studious, tagging along with my father to his department whenever I had free time.

Even my old–fashioned father noticed the

change in me.

“Who caught your eye?” he asked.

I smiled and discreetly pointed at Damon, who was deeply engrossed in his studies.

With my father’s help, Damon and I started to get closer. We began to frequently go out for meals and even watch movies together.

One time, someone came to the hospital causing trouble.

The man had a long knife and was attacking anyone in sight.

I had just finished surgery and, unaware of the danger, came face–to–face with him. By the time I noticed the knife, it was too late.

Damon rushed out and tackled me, and we both rolled to the side. The knife missed, sparing me from harm.

After that incident, we naturally got together. And Damon treated me very well.

He brought me breakfast every day and had lunch with me every afternoon.

Even my father was pleased with him.

I thought we would always be happy together, but then Carol appeared.

I heard that Damon had pursued Carol in the past, but she had rejected him, and they remained good friends.

After graduation, they ended up working in different cities, and their contact became less frequent.

Now that they were reunited, their connection reignited.

Damon was handsome and capable, and many women in the hospital had shown interest in him. But I never felt threatened or jealous. I was confident that Damon only loved me.

But Carol was different.

She was the only woman Damon had ever
