Chapter 505
Chapter 505 His Threat
Harper frowned, her face pale and bloodless.
Plus, she really hadn't eaten much all day, so Mina nodded and immediately went downstairs.
Harper closed the door and lay back on the bed. She stared at the ceiling without moving and waited quietly for Yinson to come over.
Half an hour or so later, the sound of a car's engine came from outside the window.
Harper hurriedly got up from the bed and headed straight out without even putting on her shoes.
She went down the stairs and had only reached the corner of the staircase when she saw the doctor coming in from outside.
Mina was about to take the doctor upstairs when she looked up and saw Harper standing there. Mina quickly said, "Mrs. Martin, the doctor is here. Would you like to be checked out downstairs or back in your room?" Harper glanced coldly at the doctor she'd never seen before. She said, "Did Benjamin send him?"
"Hello, Mrs. Martin. Mr. Yost arranged for me to come here. Do you have a stomachache?"
The doctor nodded slightly and introduced himself again.
Harper's reaction, however, was not great. She just glanced at him indifferently and then said, "I want Dr. Gene. He is my primary care doctor. I don't want anyone else but him to check me."
That doctor said hastily, "Mrs. Martin, Dr. Gene is my teacher. You can trust me as much as you trust him."
"I don't need to. You can leave." Harper turned and headed up the stairs.
The doctor looked at Mina with some dilemma in his eyes. However, he didn't say anything in the end, as Yinson had instructed him not to say a word of anything he shouldn't when Yinson arranged for him to come over. Harper returned to her room, not even closing the door. She sat down on the couch angrily, her emotions rising.
Mina followed her at that moment, bringing her hot milk and placing it on the coffee table in front of her. Mina then said in a warm voice, "Mrs. Martin, there is no need for you to do this. You are pregnant and should take good care of your body." "Mina, ask him for me. When will he let me out?"
"Mrs. Martin, I'm not sure about that. It's getting late. You should rest early. Staying up late is not good for the baby."
"You should tell him that. Trapping me here isn't just bad for me, but also bad for the baby. I just felt sick to my belly tonight. What's going to happen tomorrow?"
Harper followed Mina's words and threatened with the baby. She tried to get Mina to tell Benjamin to let her regain her freedom for the sake of the baby.
But Mina looked at her hesitantly. Harper said calmly, "Just say what you have to say."
Mina sighed helplessly. She initially didn't want to say it, but she had to say it at that moment. She said, "Mrs. Martin, Mr. Martin asked me to pass on a message to you. He said that he hopes that everything is safe for you and the baby in your belly. Otherwise, you cannot afford the consequences."
That simple statement silenced Harper completely.
How could she not notice his threat?
Harper narrowed her eyes and fell into silence. Mina knew she understood and then exited the room after saying that please rest early.
The door to the room closed gently before Harper gradually slowed down. But her face was still unpleasant and gloomy.
Harper thought, "How could he threaten me with my grandmother?
How could he do that?"
The more Harper thought about it, the more uncomfortable she became. She felt a little breathless, as if something was blocking her heart. She basically didn't sleep all night, rolling over and over many times.
