I Love You More Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson) Chapter 49
Chapter 49
Nydia smiled. “Business is about building relationships. Once it’s established, it’ll be casier to name our price.”
Troy chuckled. “Alright, I’ll be looking forward to it.”
As night fell and the city lights lit up, Nydia, uncertain of Cade’s return, decided to head to the Wiley family’s house.
It was her first time visiting the Wiley family. As she approached the brightly lit villa, she couldn’t help but marvel at its ostentatious decor. She wondered how a family like this raised someone as gentle as Bentley.
Nydia parked her car outside the villa, checked her watch, and scanned the area for Cade’s black Rolls–Royce. But she didn’t spot it. As she reached for her phone to call Stuart, someone knocked on her car window. She looked up to see Veronica’s face.
With a hint of joy, Nydia rolled down the window and asked, “What are you doing here?” Having an acquaintance around would surely make the evening less dull.
Verónica glanced at her and asked, “How about guest–starring in my new drama?”
“What role?” Nydia’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.
Veronica teased, “A seductive woman.”
Nydia was speechless, thinking there might be a role for her to earn some extra money.
“Get out of the car,” Veronica urged.
Nydia shook her head. “I’m waiting for Cade.”
Veronica rolled her eyes in annoyance. “Why do you have to be together all the time, may I ask?”
Nydia explained that being alone at such events would lead to unwanted attention and gossip, but with Cade by her side, he could shield her from some of it, at least at the
entrance.
Just then, Cade’s car approached from a distance. Feeling a sudden ache in her ankle, Veronica excused herself to enter the villa and catch up with Nydia later.

Nydia nodded as she got out of the car. Cade’s gaze landed on her, his expression unreadable before he averted his eyes..
Nydia noticed his apparent dissatisfaction with her attire. She glanced at herself, confident in her elegant wine–red fishtail skirt and classy cardigan combo. She wondered why he seemed critical today when he usually paid no attention to her outfits. She intentionally adjusted her cascading curls and linked arms with him, flashing a practiced charming smile. “Mr. Jackson, shall we?”
“Your smile looks terrible, you know?”
Cade’s stern response hinted at his disapproval, but Nydia remained unfazed by his attitude. In response to his grumpiness, Nydia flashed a grin, teasing, “Come on, Mr. Jackson. This won’t last long.”
Cade, seemingly pondering her words, grew increasingly displeased.
Nydia couldn’t figure out what had upset him this time. As soon as they entered, he impatiently walked away. She was relieved to have some distance from him.
After mingling with a few people, Nydia finally found Veronica. However, Veronica seemed busy, so Nydia sat nearby and waited for her. The night air was chilly, and Nydia regretted attending such a gathering in the dead of winter. After a few sips of wine, she began to feel a bit warmer.
Suddenly, two men approached and sat in front of Nydia. One of them asked, “Who did you see earlier?”
The other man leaned back in his chair and replied, “Josephine.”
Nydia’s hand holding the glass froze.
Their conversation continued about potential chaos if Josephine saw Cade with another woman, considering the presence of elders at the event. Nydia’s face paled, her knuckles turning white as she gripped the glass tighter. It was evident that these two men were mutual friends of Cade and Josephine. Nydia realized that Cade had never introduced her to his friends, so even though they sat in front of her, she remained a stranger to them.
From their conversation, Nydia gathered that Cade never respected her in front of his friends, which was why they didn’t hold her in high regard. In their eyes, Nydia was not Cade’s wife but just another acquaintance. They thought Josephine was Cade’s wife.
Nydia couldn’t control her trembling, feeling anger and a fleeting sense of defiance. She

took another sip of wine to calm herself, reminding herself that she had anticipated this situation, but she questioned why she felt so unsettled and sad.
“You can’t always cater to the old folks‘ opinions, right? Josephine has waited long enough,” the man said.
“You’re making me think you’ve taken a fancy to her, dude,” the other man replied.
“Few men can say no to a woman as sexy as Josephine. But I’m just saying. Her heart belongs to Cade, and I hope she will be happy.”
“Seems like you’re quite drunk, man,” the other man teased.
“Did I say something wrong? Josephine is much better than that woman. In terms of family background and appearance, Josephine surpasses her by miles,” he argued.
“Stop talking,” the other man said.
“Nydia!” exclaimed Veronica as she waved at Nydia, causing Liam and Paul to stop chatting. Following Veronica’s gaze, they saw Nydia raising her glass in a mock toast toward them.
Liam sprayed wine out in surprise, splashing Paul in the face.
Veronica rushed over. “What are you two doing here?” She noticed Paul’s disheveled state and quickly handed him some tissues.
Paul took the tissues and glanced at Nydia with hostility.
Nydia inwardly smirked but maintained composed. “Let me introduce myself. I’m Nydia Sharp.” She paused for a moment before adding with a meaningful smile, “Cade’s wife.”
