I Love You More Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson) Chapter 48

Chapter 48

Nydia pounded him with her fists. “Cade, are you not going to wash up? You’re so dirty”

“Let’s shower together,” he said.

“No, I’ve already showered,” Nydia refused.

Cade kicked open the bedroom door, turned on the light, and reached into Nydia’s shirt, skillfully unbuttoning it. Despite Nydia’s attempts to stop him, he kissed her passionately, pushing her onto the bed.

His kisses were wild, like a long–restrained release. Initially resistant, Nydia soon found herself lost in desire. She realized that despite not loving him, she could enjoy the pleasure he brought her. Eventually, she reached out to hold him, his passionate. embrace shackling her.

They both were on the edge of losing control. Just as they were about to reach the climax, Nydia abruptly opened her eyes, weakly holding him back. “No.” Her voice was soft, sounding more coquettish than rejecting.

Cade raised an eyebrow, his tone mocking as he asked, “Playing hard to get, huh? Weren’t you flirting with me since dinner?”

Nydia hesitated for a moment before being silenced by Cade’s kiss again. She mustered all her strength to push him away slightly. “No, I didn’t.”

Cade’s patience wore off, his eyes turning colder. “Nydia, drop the act. It makes you look. cheap; you know?” With that, his actions became rougher. “Listen, you’d better…”

“My period hasn’t ended yet!”

Nydia, pitifully squeezing her hand, watched as the desire in Cade’s eyes turned into disbelief. “It’s true. There are three more days.” She wondered if revealing this at this” moment would make Cade lose his temper.

Cade froze for a moment, feeling upset. She had been teasing him since she walked in wearing a nightgown, pushing his buttons and successfully seducing him, only to back. out at the critical moment. It seemed that she was indeed good at playing hard to get.

“Fuck!” Cade cursed, pushed Nydia away, and stormed out of the bedroom.

She could tell from his retreating figure that he was furious, but she burst into laughter. “You deserve it, you jerk!‘ she thought.

The next morning, Nydia went to work feeling refreshed. As soon as she arrived at the office, Alison eagerly shared the news with her. “Ms. Sharp, Josephine has been suspended by Mr. Jackson for three months.”

Nydia was momentarily surprised, asking, “Why?”

“They said she made a terrible mistake.

The word “terrible” indicated the severity of the situation. However, upon closer consideration of Josephine’s recent tasks, Nydia found that they were all trivial matters, hardly significant projects.

“Mr. Jackson should just fire her!” Alison frowned, dissatisfied. “Suspending her for only three months is letting her off easy.

‘Firing her? How could Cade bear to do that!‘ Nydía snorted inwardly, suspecting the temporary suspension was merely a protective measure to silence gossip. With Josephine not around, however, Nydia’s mood improved.

After Alison left, Nydia called Lance. A few minutes later, she handed him a card, saying, “Lance, there’s some money in this card. Give it to Robin. It might not be much, but I’ll work hard to earn more.”

Lance felt touched. “Nydia, we were planning to keep Robin’s situation from you…”

“From now on, nothing is to be kept from me,” Nydia interrupted. “We can’t let this happen again. I’ve already lost my parents. I can’t lose anyone from Sharp Group.”

“Alright.” Lance nodded tearfully. They, once brought together by interests, had become family after the ups and downs of Sharp Group.

“In a couple of days, we’ll visit Justin together,” Nydia suggested.

Lance hesitated, wiping his tears. “Maybe we shouldn’t. I’m worried the Jackson Group might cause you trouble.”

“No worries.” Nydia took a business card from a drawer and ran her finger over the embossed name in black and gold. “I’ll put an end to this.”

Lance, puzzled, asked, “Nydia, what do you mean?”

Nydia waved him off. “It’s fine. You can go do your business.”

At Nydia’s instruction, Lance nodded and left.

As the year drew to a close, companies were busy hosting parties. Alison was drowning in invitation cards

Whether Nydia attended these parties depended on the Jackson family’s arrangements. As a top conglomerate, Jackson Group’s every move influenced Creekheim’s economic landscape. Cozying up to it meant a prosperous future.

However, in the past five years, Jackson Group mainly interacted with the same few families, their interests deeply intertwined, leaving the rest to look up to them and hope to build relationships with them.

At noon, Stuart entered Nydia’s office. “Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Jackson wants you to get ready for dinner at the Wiley family’s tonight.”

Nydia raised an eyebrow, surprised. “The Wiley family? Aren’t they based overseas and have no business ties with Jackson Group?” She remembered Cade not allowing her to get too close to Bentley before.

Stuart explained, “It’s not business–related, just a dinner invitation from Mr. Wiley. Mr. Jackson and others are attending.”

Nydia nodded in understanding as Stuart left. Shortly after, she received a call from Troy.

“You’re as impressive as always, Nydia. We secured that project,” Troy said triumphantly. Nydia chuckled. “So I passed the test, huh?” The difficulty of the case Troy assigned her was significant, and she had grasped it immediately upon receiving it.

Troy wanted to test her abilities while also repaying a favor. He emphasized that this was just the beginning, indicating his satisfaction with her performance. “Let me send you a reward,” he offered.

Nydia, tapping her mouse lightly, opened three new folders in her email. “No need for that,” she replied.

Troy paused on the other end, raising an eyebrow cunningly. “What do you want, then?”
