Chapter 9
Sam P.O.V
“Sooooo, it’s your birthday in a few weeks, are you gonna have a party?” Zaya nudged my side. We were currently having a very early breakfast with Jo, Hannah and Leo because I was going to the gym to train, it was already passed 7:30 but I didn’t care, he can’t boss me around.
We had all become pretty good friends lately.....wait no I take that back Jo, Hannah, Leo, Zaya and I had all become good friends. There was no way that I was friends with my arch nemesis, Cole.
“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “What? When’s your birthday? How old are you turning? Can we have a party?” Leo and Hannah bombarded me with questions. “It’s in a few weeks, I’m turning eighteen and I don’t know if I want a party.” I said, but as soon as I said eighteen Jo, Leo and Hannah all looked at each other grinning. “I think it’s time we tell her.” Hannah said excitedly. “What?” I asked slowly. “Honey,” Jo took my hand and placed it in hers, “when a werewolf turns eighteen they normally find what’s called a mate. Do you believe in soulmates?” Jo asked squeezing my hand. “Sort of, I guess.” I said shrugging my shoulders. “Well, all werewolves have a mate and when you turn eighteen you can finally recognise them,” she paused for a moment assessing my reaction, I’m sure my mouth was almost to the floor, “you don’t always find your mate straight away but......when you do it’s like the missing part inside of you is filled, like a magnet pulling you two towards each together and no matter what, you won’t be able to stop it.” She said giving me a reassuring smile. “Okay.” That’s all I could say, I couldn’t believe what they just told me.
After I finished breakfast, I walked to the gym. But this time it was full of other werewolves training. I seen Cole watching one of his warriors training, so I walked over to him. “Glad to see you made it.” Cole said sarcastically, still watching the fight in front of him. “Oh Hardie har har, I show up when I want to, got it?” I said. “John,” he yelled, the men in the ring stopped fighting and a very large, way taller than me and muscular man stepped forward. “Yes Alpha.” He said Bowing his head. “I want you to fight this one here.” Cole said smirking and slapping me on the back, I turned my head slightly towards Cole and I growled for him to stop touching me. The man in the ring supposedly called ‘John’ looked over me once. “You want me to fight that little girl?” John said laughing. “Yes I do and I don’t want you to go easy on her, now are you questioning my orders?” Cole said raising his eyebrows. “So I’m guessing you didn’t see me fighting the Alpha.” I said making sure he could see my glowing eyes, John cowered and looked away from my eyes. Cole was trying to stifle a laugh. ‘Is he trying to kill me, making us fight him?’ I screamed. ‘Well if he killed us than he wouldn’t have to deal with fighting again.’ Leah shrugged. ‘Don’t worry, he’s not an Alpha like you are so he has less strength, you just have to know how to use your strength.’ Leah reassured me.
I entered the ring, letting power radiate off of me. Everyone was starting to crowd around the ring. I took a few bad punches and then I remembered.....Leo’s move the one where he sat in the middle. I smirked and walked to the middle of the ring and sat down. “What are you doing?” John asked chuckling. As I was sitting waiting for my opponent to lunge, I couldn’t bring my eyes away from Cole’s. “Go, hit me, come on, or are you to chicken?” I said pouting. “This is going to be too easy.” John laughed. He ran and I let him pin me to the ground, before I wrapped my legs around his waist and pushed him onto his back. I sat on his legs making sure he couldnt move one little bit and held his wrists down. “What?” He was confused about how fast it happened. I got up and put my hand down for him to take it, he took my hand and stood up. “I win,” I giggled huffing and puffing everyone around me cheered apart from Cole, he stood there smirking and shaking his head. “Next time don’t judge by my size I said laughing. “Luna, Luna.” Everyone chanted. ‘What’s a Luna?’ I asked Leah. ‘Oh no oh no oh nanananoooo there is no way ever in a million years would we be their Luna. That would mean marrying the Alpha. But we are never doing that, yuck, ew, gross never ever ever. When we train more and we are ready we will fight Cole again but never ever will we be his Luna. EVER.’ Leah said screaming. ‘What they think that we are their Luna, na ah.’ I said. ‘Oh HELL NO.’ Leah and I yelled. The colour in Cole’s face was drained. “No, that’s not what this is.” Cole yelled. They all stopped chanting. “I am not your Luna, sorry to disappoint you but I’m not, okay and I never will be.” I said.

‘And I never will be’ those words echoed in my head. Why do I feel hurt? “Okay show’s over now, now get out.” I said in a stern voice. Sam stayed, glued to her spot, she was in shock, just as much as I was. “Why do they think that I would be their Luna?” She said confused. “I don’t know, I know just as much as you do.” I said. Sam walked over to a punching bag, and punched it as hard as she could. I was caught off guard when it nearly broke from the impact. ‘How is she so strong?’ I asked Stan. ‘I don’t know.’ Stan shrugged. ‘Yeah you’re a great help, thanks.’ I said to Stan sarcastically. “Widen your stance, you’ll get even more power into your punches.” I said walking over to her. “No ordering me around remember.” She said continuously punching. “I was just trying to help.” I said raising my voice a little. She growled and turned to me. I snarled back at her. And she walked away and into the ring. “Bring it,” she said, I laughed at her. Was she serious. “You’re serious?” I said and stopped laughing. “Yeah,” Sam said in a duh tone. “Come on chicken.” She said making chicken noises and moving her arms like wings. I laughed and stepped into the ring, putting on a pair of gloves on the way.
