Chapter 3
Suddenly Cole’s eyes were changing colour from grey to glowing red like mine. “Sam, you need to stop,” Zaya said panicking. To my surprise Cole growled back. My canines were showing and my nails grew longer. “Sam stop, not here,” Zaya screamed. I stood taller and stepped closer Cole did the same. Ryan and Xavier were still in shock. There was something radiating off of Cole it was..........power. ‘Sam the three of them are werewolves too and Cole is the alpha.’ Leah said growling. Cole and I started to shake. ‘One of you have to bow down to the other, but we are not doing that. Okay, and if it comes to it we will have to fight.’ Leah said snarling. We stood there for a long time while our bodies were shaking from trying so hard not to bow down. Cole growled at me I growled back showing him my canines. “Bow, now,” Cole growled. “Never,” I said through gritted teeth Leah had taken every bit of control away from me. Our bodies couldn’t take the power anymore we both dropped to the floor, gasping for air. “Sam,” Zaya said running over to me. She knelt down and helped me up. I looked up into Zaya’s eyes. “Leah took control I couldn’t stop it I’m sorry.” I said ignoring that Cole was still on the ground. “Don’t be sorry it wasn’t you.” Zaya said reassuringly. “What pack are you from and why are you on my land?” Cole growled as he stood up. “I’m not in a pack, ok. And this isn’t your land anymore.....” I said Leah had taken over again. “It’s mine,” I said snarling.
“No it isn’t, unless you want to fight for it, and by the look of it doesn’t look like you’ve had much training.” He said frustratedly. “How would you know?” I challenged. Ryan and Xavier has been quiet the whole time. “Oh....” Ryan began. “No,” Xavier finished. “If you’s are gonna fight at least do it where no one else will see,” Ryan suggested. “Let’s go,” Cole said as he started towards the doors that led outside of the school. ‘I don’t like anyone walking in front of us,” Leah explained. I walked quickly and caught up with Cole. “I’ll be walk in front thank you.” I said as I picked up the pace. Cole didn’t like that I was in front, he growled. I heard Zaya, Ryan and Xavier follow after us. “Good pup,” I said smiling because he wasn’t fighting to be in the lead. He growled even louder at that. “Head to the south east mountain, you’ll find the pack house there.” He said smirking. ‘Pack house what’s a pack house?’ I asked Leah. ‘It’s where the alpha lives with most of the pack,’ Leah replied. I followed the directions and I finally reached a modern mansion through a clearing. I could smell other wolves, they were in the house. About ten wolves emerged from the house and growled when they saw me, I growled back letting my eyes turn red again. They whimpered and looked away. Why were they scared of me? Cole was a few steps behind and stopped. “When did you shift?” He asked as I turned to face him. “Why should I tell you?” I smirked. “When did you shift?” He yelled. “Last night, okay. Now let’s get this over and done with so I can take what’s mine.” I screamed. “Last night, so you mean you’re not pure werewolf?” He said raising his eyebrows thinking that I’m lying. “So what if not? You can’t tell me what to do.” I said pointing my finger at him. “Yeah, right.” He scoffs.
“She does smell new,” Xavier said tilting his head. “Sam I don’t this is a good idea.” Zaya said looking around at all the other wolves. “Your human friend’s right, I don’t think you should be fighting another alpha?” Cole said grinning. “What do you mean, another alpha?” I questioned. “Have you not seen your eyes?” Cole said putting his hands on his head in frustration. “Of course I have, why?” I said getting really angry. “Only alphas have red eyes and that’s why your wolf wants to fight me. She’s taken control hasn’t she?” He asked. Leah forced me to keep my head up high and not tell him anything. “Are we going to fight? Or are you to scared?” I said smirking. “Fine, if that means you’ll get off of my land when you lose.” Cole said. I walked behind a tree and took my clothes then shifted, making sure I would still have clothes for when I shift back. When I came out from behind the tree I heard gasps all around me. And whispers filling the air ‘she’s pretty’ I heard another wolf say. I held my head higher as I walked over to Cole. He then went behind a different tree and shifted. His fur was pitch black with no markings. We circled each other for a while. Until pounced and aimed for his neck, he quickly threw me off and I hit a tree. When I got up I started growling uncontrollably, he growled back. This time I went for his back leg, grabbed hold of it he howled in pain then started trying to bite me. I dodged him every time he tried and I had no intention of letting go. He then quickly kicked me in the face with his other back leg. I yelped and let go, Cole tackled me to the ground with one paw on my throat. We growled, suddenly a door slams open, we both turn to see a woman with blonde short hair storming out of the house. “Stop.” She screamed. “Stop Cole.” She yelled. She then saw that we were both covered in blood, you couldn’t see my white fur. She gasped when she seen all of the blood. Cole looked back to me and snapped his jaws at me and I snapped mine back at him.
Cole finally let go of me and I walked behind the tree, shifted back and threw my clothes back on. My skin was covered in blood and my blonde hair was dripping, I had deep bites all over me but then they disappeared, leaving only blood. ‘Don’t worry, you heal quickly being a werewolf.’ Leah said laughing. I walked out from behind the tree to see Cole’s black hair dripping with blood as well. We locked eyes and growled at each other. “Thank you for stopping.” The mysterious woman sighed. “I am Joanne but you can call me Jo, I’m Cole’s mother.” Jo smiled politely. “Hi Jo, I’m Samantha but I don’t really like anyone calling me Samantha so you can call me Sam.” I said smiling. “Well, how about we get you cleaned up then. I’m guessing that was your first fight.” She said laughing. “Well......only with an alpha.” I said tilting my head to the side a little bit. “Really, well I think you done a great job you had him there for a while.” She giggled and turned to Cole. Cole growled he didn’t want to admit it. We walked inside as I kept my head high, I was not going to submit. ‘You know what I’m grateful you forced me to fight earlier.’ I giggled and Leah joined in. We reached a room that had a light grey L- shaped lounge, a big flat screen television and a glass coffee table. Jo turned to face me. “If you head up the stairs and to your second right you will find a shower I will bring you some clean clothes as well. Mean while I will take good care of your friend, don’t worry.”She smiled. “I don’t want to be rude or anything but why are you doing this for me?” I asked curiously. “Well us she-wolves have to stick together.” She said laughing. “Thank you.” I gave her a smile and walked to the bathroom.
