Chapter 8
"So first of all why have a sit-pose for mindfulness?" The instructor decided to school him.
"You could sit anyhow you want to, but with this particular pose, you are focused and you are likely not to wander.
"So first things, you sit down with your legs interlocked between themselves, push in your waist a little, chest out a little and straighten your head" Mr Barker gave him a look as if to say do you get? Liam immediately tried it out and got it better than the first time, he received an applaud from his instructor.
"So secondly, you should take deep breathes to clear and reduce any tension" The instructor demonstrated by taking a deep breath and Liam mimicked him.
"Make sure to prepare your mind for the exercise"
"You could say to yourself: "I want to be mindful" " Liam found it funny.
"Yes whisper it over and over to yourself to make sure your mind registers the activity you are about to start" He explained further so his student does not find it funny anymore.
So he went further to explain how the main exercise " mindfulness" was done.
"You think of a problem or an object and you scan and meditate on it, you just reminisce in the thought of that problem or object " He looked at him to see if he was understanding and he was.
The times Liam had done mindfulness before, he had done it with the guide of a friend that wasn't proffesional. So some of the things he was learning were strange to him.
"For example I think I have headache and I want to be mindful of it" his instructor began to breake it down.
"I spell headache in my mind several times, I spell it backward and forward severally"
"I think of how headache pains attack me from the little pains to the banging pains and I do that severally too."
"I do that for many minutes if not an hour, why doing this I try not to shift my focus from it, so I do it with my eyes closed and my mind concentrated"
"And by the time I'm done, I'll feel relieved or freed from the headache" he sounded so confident of course he was sure of what he was saying, it has worked hundreds of time.
"You might find it difficult trying not to wander off but apply discipline anytime intruding thoughts come and you'll be used to this soon".
So after much explanation instructed Liam to meditate on his health issue with his eyes closed which he did for twenty minutes. While he was meditating his instructor was guiding him with words so as to enable him remain I'm his state of mindfulness.
"Calmly, calmly" he whispered.
"Do not be hard on yourself, slowly does it, yeah there you go"
"Resonate around it, how does it attack? Slowly?"
"what are the symptoms? dizziness? Imagine it"
"yeah there you go" was his constant words of encouragement.
Diana walked in during this session and she wished she was the one undergoing the therapy but she quickly entered her room so as to hide her feelings.
still In her room she was peeping through her windows to feed her eyes and ears.
After the twenty minutes of mindfulness Liam was tapped to open his eyes. He had really meditated deeply. He opened his eyes and felt unusual calmness and freedom, he gulped a large portion of his water.

His instructor commented positively on his performance and released him to eat after which he left for his own house.
Later that evening, Diana knocked on his door. He was surprised at least he knew she hated seeing him and he wasn't owing her so why the visit?
"Can I come in?" She asked as he opened door
"Sure hello, nice to see you" he led her into the house and gestured for her to sit.
Oh how she hated the "nice to see you" phrase from him. There was nothing nice to see about him. Don't he get? She was annoyed.
"So what brings the beautiful Diana to my house " he smiled.
"I hope you know I own your house too " she said without smiling but he laughed mildly at her words.
"So to the reason why I came here, I did not like the fact that you and your yoga guy used the yard to do your stuffs" she wanted to be mean, she loved being mean to Men. "But that wasn't a big deal, we did not litter, did we?" he seemed astonished.
"You do not need to liter, I just don't like you abandoning the room u paid for and using the yard!" she barked
"Oh I forgot. You are a Man" Men do not like respecting people's boundaries" she laughed sarcastically
"But please I do not want to regret leasing my house to you" She said in a softer but serious tone.
"Oh what do you mean? "

"That I did some meditation to heal in the yard where I live is disrespecting peoples boundaries?"

"I really do not get why you are so stubborn" Diana winced.
"Just know that I have boundaries and I won't take it likely if you cross it"
"You know what?"
"What?"
"You are just a bitter woman and I won't let you pour your bitterness on me. Liam warned her, pissed.
"Oh you call me bitter, because I state out my rules?" she laughed sarcastically.
"What rules ?!"
"Tell me, what rules?!"
"The ones you didn't state on paper? " it was his turn to mockingly laugh at her.
"Young lady you need help and I'll highly recommend my instructor to you"
"Hahahahahaha" she laughed out so loud.
"Oh well I have nothing to say to you but make sure to not to do your dirty stuffs in my yard, Thanks!" She warned while dashing out of his room.
