Chapter 77
Chapter 77
"Leave my house this instant! and don't darken my doorsteps with your presence ever again" Diana fumed. She was so done with this fruitless conversation. Gosh! Why did he still name her mad? Looking at her so called father, she could see a few subtle wrinkle lines on his weathered face. He looked positively contrite, she couldn't help but smirk at the fact that perhaps karma had dealt with him a little if not more.
"Please Diana, please darling. Talk to me. I want to hear everything that I've missed because of my self-centeredness, I want to be there for my babygirl now " he finished, taking a subtle step forward as if to touch her. Diana took an obvious step backwards. To think that he felt that he could touch her or that his touch could sway her decision in any manner was disgusting. She couldn't but feel an overwhelming rush of hatred for this man. "Get out old creep or I will call the Cops on you" Diana felt like calling him all the derogatory names she could muster. She didn't though, only because she didn't want to show the bustard any emotion at all. He wasn't even worth her pain. Seeing the absolute seriousness on his daughter's face. He resolved to let her be for now. She could use this time to get used to the idea of him he reasoned absently noting to himself the flicker of hope he was holding onto. For the first time since he arrived, he looked around, noting the beautiful neighbourhood his daughter lived in. He was happy his daughter had done so well for herself. He was happy she had done so well for herself. My independent princess he thought. "Okay darling, i'll go for now but rest assured I'm your father and I'll continue to pester you untill you give me an audience" he leered at her one more before turning to go home, shoulders so downcasted, his guilt could be perceived by even an outsider.
"Yeah get out. I'll have you know that you're not welcome here Dad..." Diana retorted sarcastically. She traipsied past her dad who was still slowly walking. Diana started jogging, eager to get her bastard out of her sight. She vaguely wondered if she should walk through her normal route or take a longer one. She was feeling unusually antsy which was expected after the whole morning fiasco.
Diana heaved out a weary sigh and increased her pace as she could still see her Dad from her periphery, he was giving her furtive glances as if he could waver her already made up mind. She increased her pace a little more.
Finally Diana couldn't see the man anymore. One would probably wonder why she was scampering broad daylight as it was unusual for diana, she only ran in the wee hours of the morning.
Remembering that she was with her new oraimo headphone, she puller them over her head. Diana scrolled through her music list for uplifting songs and finally arrived at a trap music by Dax. She adored dax. Ears blocked, focus activated, Diana skidded to a jog oblivious to her surroundings.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wilson felt his hope dash again when Diana jogged past him without even an eyebrow lifting. He vowed again to do everything in his power to make his daughter forgive him.
After Diana's workout, she took a quick shower because she hated baths. They were too long. She had a breakfast of hamburger, bacon, eggs and toasted bread. She washed the full meal down with sone of the freshly squeezed pineapple juice Mrs. frazier had given her last night. The woman was such a darling. She was God sent. It was as if she knew Diana loved to eat as she usually brought different home-cooked delicacies to her doorstep. In return Diana made sure to get any of the latest beauty products she thought she would use.

She pondered a little in whether to return Sam's missed call. She wavered that thought. She was probably working. She would call her later. Snapped out of her thoughts by her buzzing phone. Diana picked her call. It was her boss on the line. "Hello ma'am, good morning " Diana chirped. She hoped miss. Avery her boss was calling her for a photoshoot or something of that nature. She didn't want to spend her day sleeping.
"Hey Di. How's you? Miss Avery liked to shorten her name, said it sounded more spontaneous and less aristocratic that way.
"I'm good. You" Miss Avery affirmed. "I'm calling to remind you to prompt properly for the karima beauty photoshoot tommorow. I want you to wax every single inch of your body Di and yes! Charge it to the company's account." Diana never ceased to ask her that question.
"Aye captain" Diana joked. Her boss had taken a special liking to her since day one. Miss. Avery was a former victoria secret super model. She had never been married. Infact she had told Diana once that marriage the one type of bandage she never wanted to experience.
"Silly girl" Miss Avery chuckled "Just be there at sharp 9. Not a minute late, you know other models will be present there too and it's always crucial to be punctual in this line of job. See ya tomorrow. Bye. "Byee ma'am, thank you." Diana quipped happily.
Miss Avery disconnected.
Diana had always admired her beautiful boss, infact Miss Avery was her modelling icon. She was so elegant, sophisticated and classy. The way she dressed everyday was so fashionable which had already procured her the nickname; miss fashionista. Diana had already snagged some of her modelling videos which she had already watched uncountable
times.
Diana cleared her dining table and cleaned her kitchen. She played around for some minutes on her phone. Afterwards, she answered some work e-mails on her phone. She also replied to a couple of messages on her social media accounts. When she was done randomly and sparsely tiding up her house because the cleaning services had already worked yesterday. She retreated to her bedroom and collapsed on her four-poster bed. Diana was out in like 10 seconds.
