Chapter 76
Chapter
76
It was in the early hours of the morning when Diana came back from her walk. She decided to take a walk this morning as she thought she was really slacking in exercise. She was a super model and she needed to be fit. She was close to her door when she saw a Man standing by it, she didn't recognise who he was but she was sure she wasn't expecting anyone. She became anxious as she moved closer. The image of her Dad as a child came up in her head as got a clear view of the Man but she forced herself to believe that it wasn't him.
"No it can't be, there's no way that foolish Man would locate me" Diana thought as she drew closer.
"Hey Diana" The strange Man greeted softly as he noticed Diana's presence. Diana was shocked that the Man knew her name but she faked being unbothered.
"Hey, can I help you?" Diana asked bluntly.
"Yeah you can, but can we at least go inside and have a proper conversation" The Man opined.
"I'm not letting you inside my home, speak up or you leave this premises "Diana stated bluntly.
"Young lady, it's fine you don't have to be violent, okay?" He said.
"I'm Mr Wilson " He introduced himself and was about going further when Diana interfered.
"Mr What?" Diana asked with her heart skipping as she prayed it wasn't her Dad.
"Yeah, Mr Wilson, I am your Dad and it's okay if you don't recognise me as I left when you were so little and I didn't keep in touch" He narrated with a sober tone.
"Hahahaha" Diana laughed loudly.
"So you are being serious? " Diana asked sarcastically.
"Please leave my house" She added angrily.
"Darling can you please hear me out? I am your father you know?" He begged her.
"First of all I am not your darling, never you address me that way, do you understand? " Diana barked.
"And I am not your child, I ceased to be your child the day you chose to neglect me and go chase women, Now leave my house this minute! " Diana fumed as she couldn't have what was going on.
"I know I failed you my daughter and I admit it that's why I'm here"
"I don't want to see you, you irritate me don't you get? " Diana screamed.

"Leave my house this minute!" she fumed.
Mr wilson's heart broke for a second. He felt crushed that he had hurt his daughter so completely that she couldn't even bear to look him in the eyes, as Diana was so resolutely doing. It was almost laughable but Alas! Apparently the pain in his heart was to an extent that he couldn't even find anything funny about it. Coming here today to seek his daughter out, he had known it was very unlikely that she would hear what he had to say, talk more of actually listening. Forgiveness was a very faraway thought. Right now, he figured he had made a miscalculation on the type of welcome he would receive infact he had not expected any welcome at all.
Diana had always been an obvious divisive topic in his head recently. He had equal measures of love and guilt whenever his mind wandered to his family. He knew the blameworthiness and guilt he felt was very well deserved. He had been searching for Diana for a long time now, scouring through his contacts and more if there was anyone he knew she kept in contact with which was apparently a far-fetched idea.
Despite the obvious conception, leaving his family was definitely not easy for him. He had just been very unhappy with his life. He had turned to drinking, smoking, etc to get him out of his funk so he could love his wife again all to no avail. At last he had made the single most horrible decision in his life. He had been to occupied with his vices at that time so he had been thinking he was taking a chance on something different. He had been so wrong!
"Please darling, I'm so sorry for everything I've done to you and your mother. I know apologising is good-for-nothing right now but I need you to let me in or we can go somewhere else that's conducive to talk. I really want you to hear me out diana" Mr Wilson pleaded almost getting on his knees.
If it was someone else Diana would probably feel pity for an old man like her father pleading like this in front of her but she had no amount of pity for such an absentee father. She even wished she could look at him and feel nothing. That was a welcome thought.
Diana blatantly eyed her absentee father. She could almost scoff at the love shining in his teary eyes. But no! She would not be moved. How many times had she spent her days wishing and praying that he would come home and save her from all the uncouth things she had witnessed at such a young age? Where was he when she so desperately needed a father? He hadn't given her a thought then, leaving her with suicidal thoughts, low self confidence and a sad heart. There was a time that she had even wondered if she was the cause if him so abruptly leaving. At that time she could have sworn she saw blame in her mother's eyes though she never voiced anything.
