Chapter 63
Chapter 63
Diana started drinking heavily, partying all night and sleeping all day. She threw herself into her work, pushing herself to the brink of exhaustion in an attempt to distract herself from the pain of the breakup. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape the sense of emptiness that had taken root inside her.
As the weeks went by, Diana's reckless behavior only escalated. She slept with men she barely knew, drank herself into oblivion on a regular basis, and took risks that even she knew were dangerous. But she didn't care, because it was all she could do to keep the pain at bay.

"... By the way, there's a club opening in my street. I will be there. Will you come?". The masculine voice boomed through the speakers of her phone
"That's a ridiculous question because I'm already there. The time, please". Diana jested.
"It's on Sunday. I will pick you up".
"Don't be like that Greggg! I know my way around this town. I'm a fast rising celebrity." Diana reminded him.
"I can't leave that detail out. I'm the sex toy of celebrity Diana." Greg taunted.
"I'm.. I..." Diana stuttered in surprise and completely switched off her phone in anger.
What just happened?! Did Greg just say those words to me? I think... I shouldn't be having sex with him any longer. He's too hurt to accept that I can't date him... dumbo!
"Well, I can't say no to a night of partying. I really love to party and be me!". She smiled, then turning towards her wardrobe, she began to search for a bitchy outfit to slay for the club opening.
On that Sunday night, she dressed to kill. Her cleavage was out for everybody to see. Her thighs too glimmered in the night. Her makeup wasn't excessive as she always liked it.
She loved her freedom and also the grievous way all the men, even those having their partners beside them, ogled at her with lust. She didn't bother searching for Greg because she hadn't come for him. She spent the night dancing and rocking various men. She noticed the ladies looked at her with contempt but she only wanted to have fun.
She felt pressed and stumbled into the bathroom to ease her bowels but met with danger. Three furious girls rounded her up and gave her a thorough beating for stealing their partners away from them. Diana regretted coming to the club. She just wanted to die. She wished somebody would come to her rescue but nobody did.
In that moment, all of Diana's fear and pain came rushing to the surface. She knew that she was in trouble, and she knew that she had nobody to turn to.
After some minutes of their departure, her phone started to ring. Groaning in pain, she checked the caller ID and it was Sam, calling to check up on her. Swiping the receiver, she placed the phone on her ear.
"Hello Diana, I've been calling for weeks now. You've not been picking, I'm glad you did today". Sam seemed excited.

"I picked because I had no choice. I need your help". Diana groaned in desperation.
Sam was alarmed and terror filled her heart, "What's wrong? Have you gotten into trouble?"
"Yes... some jealous bitches wanted to kill me because, I'm hotter than them"
"What's wrong with you? You sound like someone in pain but I don't want you to give me such nasty details." Sam shot at her.
"Fine. The fact is that their jealousy made them beat me up. Please, come to..." She gave her the club location over the phone and Sam promised her that she will be there soon.
Sam arrived in no time and got to Diana. She stared at her for sometime before approaching her. Sam helped Diana to her feet, and the two women hugged each other tightly, tears streaming down their faces.
"I'm sorry, Sam," Diana sobbed. "I'm sorry for pushing you away and for being such a mess. I don't know what I would do without you."
"It's okay," Sam whispered, her voice shaking with emotion. "I'm just glad you're okay. And I'll always be here for you, no matter what. You can count on me."
"I'm grateful, Sam. I really am". Diana mumbled.
Sam chuckled " I guess you've learnt your lessons, right? There's church next Sunday, will you come?" Sam's eyes burned into her skin.
"Sure, I must come but you need to lend me one of your dresses because I don't have anything decent in my wardrobe". Diana responded.
"Why do I smell shopping in the air? Let's shop for you instead?" Sam suggested, staring at Diana with strict eyes.
"Okay, okay..." Diana answered with both hands raised upwards.
*In church*
It was a sunny Sunday morning and Sam was awake and preparing for Church service with her family.
She sent Diana a message, reminding of her that it was a Sunday morning. Sam was thrilled and couldn't wait to get Diana to the church. She knew that Diana would feel the same sense of peace and clarity that she always felt when she went to church.
As they drove to the church, Sam chatted excitedly with Diana about all the different ways that church had helped her through difficult times. Diana seemed interested even though her eyes were glued to her phone screen. When Sam saw that, she turned to Kenneth and began to talk to him like there was no other person in the car.
The church was filled with people, all singing and praying together. Sam could see the look of wonder on Daina's face as they sat down in the pew. She knew that Daina was feeling the same sense of peace and connection that she always felt when she came to church.
As the service went on, Sam watched as Daina's face transformed from one of disinterest to one of peace and calm. She knew that Daina had found what she was looking for at that moment.
After the service was over, Diana and Sam hugged each other tightly. Sam knew that Daina would never forget this day and the sense of peace that she had found in the church. She was grateful to have been able to bring her friend to church and to have shared this special moment with her.
