Chapter 59
Chapter 59
"I just don't understand, Dad," Liam choked out between tears. "I thought Diana was the one. We were going to get married, start a family. And now it's all just gone. How am I supposed to move on from this?"
His father tried to comfort him "I know it's hard, son. Breakups are never easy. But you have to remember that this is just a temporary setback. You're young, you have your whole life ahead of you. You'll find love again." Liam wiped his eyes and sniffled. "I don't know if I can, Dad. I feel like I'm never going to be happy again."
"I know it feels that way right now, but trust me, the pain will fade with time. You just have to give it a chance to heal. And in the meantime, try to focus on the things that bring you joy. Surround yourself with loved ones, find hobbies that make you happy. Don't let this breakup define you."
Liam nodded, trying to take his father's words to heart. But as the hours passed and the sun began to set, he found himself feeling more and more hopeless. He couldn't shake the feeling that his life was over, that he would never find happiness again.
In a moment of desperation, he reached for the bottle of whiskey that sat on the kitchen counter. He knew it was a bad idea, that alcohol would only make him feel worse in the long run. But at that moment, he didn't care. He needed something, anything, to numb the pain.
As the alcohol flowed through his veins, Liam's thoughts became muddled and hazy. He stumbled to his bedroom and collapsed onto the bed, letting the tears flow freely once again.
In the morning, he woke up with a pounding headache and a sense of regret. He knew he had made a mistake, that he had let his emotions get the best of him.
But it was too late to take it back now. All he could do was try to move forward and hope that, someday, the pain would fade.
Over the next few weeks, Liam tried his best to follow his father's advice. He threw himself into his work, focusing on his career and trying to find joy in the small things. He spent time with his friends and family, and even took up a new hobby - painting.
But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. He found himself thinking of Diana constantly, wondering what she was doing and if she was happy without him.
One evening, after a particularly difficult day at work, Liam found himself reaching for the bottle of whiskey again.
He knew it was a mistake, but he couldn't resist the temptation. He poured himself a glass and sank down onto the couch, letting the alcohol numb his feelings once more.
As the weeks turned into months, Liam found himself falling into a cycle of drinking and despair.
He would try to pull himself out of it, but the pain was always there, lurking just beneath the surface. He knew he needed to find a way to move on, but he just couldn't seem to let go.
He drank to cope with pain, and to drown out his own thoughts of Diana.
As his drinking escalated, so did the consequences. Liam started showing up late to work, and his performance began to suffer. He was constantly exhausted and irritable, and his relationships with his family and friends suffered as a result. Despite all of this, Liam couldn't seem to stop. He told himself that he was just having a good time, that he was still in control. But deep down, he knew that wasn't true. He was an alcoholic, and he was in deep trouble. Though Diana eluded him in his sleep, he lost his appetite and taste in life.

Liam walked into the club. It was Friday night and he had hooked up with some colleagues from work to have fun.
"Liam, we never knew you had such love for alcohol". One of the guys teased as they sat at a table with vodka in their cups.
"The bottle became my baby when my baby left. I had no choice, man." Liam explained, shaking his head.
"What's so special about this woman that you'd rather lose yourself for her?". Another one sneered.
"I love her and life without her is a mess. A big mess". Liam said in visible regret.
"I believe you should not be too hard on yourself. But also take it easy, okay?". A blonde advised.
"Thanks CeCe. You've always been there". He grinned, and lifted his glass to drain another cup of alcohol down his throat.
"Let's rock it tonight". CeCe screamed, dragging Liam up and to the dance floor.
She starts rubbing her butt against his groin while swinging her head and trying to make him dance.
Liam is visibly uninterested but in order not to embarrass her, he dances along with her.

Some tables away, Diana sat watching the dance floor. She wasn't over Liam yet and so, she was having a drink to flush his thoughts out of her head She watches a lady drag a dashing man to the dancefloor and begins to rub his body and force him to dance.
Irritated, she threw her face away.
Meanwhile, Liam, sweating profusely from dancing with CeCe left her on the dancefloor to meet with the other guys.
As he settled into the table with the other guys, he noticed the way they were looking at him.
"While you're sulking over Diana, CeCe is shooting her shot at you". One commented.
"I don't like CeCe like that. She's only a friend, okay?" He said in a warning tone.
"Okay, we shall watch and see!". They concluded and left the table to ask some girls to dance. Liam poured himself a glass of vodka and drained it down his throat and closed his eyes.
