Her Redemption

Chapter 60

Chapter 60

Diana walked out of her house and opened her car. She looked bitchy with her red transparent gown with a slit at the front, cut to her thigh.

It didn't take her so long to go back to sleeping with different and random guys and dressing half-nude.

Her phone buzzed and she checked the notification. One of her hook-up guys wanted to meet with her at noon. She smiled.

Time to have some fun.

Diana sat on the edge of her bed, staring blankly at the wall in front of her. She had just returned from another sexual escapade with a new guy, Felix. She felt nothing... It was nothing like Liam.

Picking up the glass of vodka, she let her mind wander into the first few days after her breakup with Liam. It had been terrible and she stopped herself various times from calling him back.

For the first few days after the breakup, Diana couldn't bring herself to get out of bed. She lay there, feeling sorry for herself and wallowing in her own misery. She didn't want to see anyone or do anything, and she found herself drifting in and out of sleep for most of the day.

As the days went on, however, Diana began to feel the weight of her solitude. She started to feel lonely and isolated, and she knew that she needed to get out of the house and start moving on with her life.

She forced herself to get up and get dressed, and she set out on a walk around her neighborhood. It was a beautiful day, and the sun was shining brightly in the sky.

Diana took a deep breath and tried to clear her head, but she couldn't shake the feeling of sadness that seemed to be a constant presence.

As she walked, Diana began to notice all the happy couples around her. She saw young families out for a stroll, old couples holding hands, and people her own age enjoying each other's company.

It was a stark contrast to her own situation, and Diana couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy.

She had always thought that she and Liam were happy together, but now she realized that she had been fooling herself. She had let her insecurities get the best of her and now there was no more Liam. She had let herself become a shell of the strong, independent woman she had once been.

She knew that she had made the right decision in ending things with Liam, she couldn't bear to be in a relationship with a liar.

"Haaaaa". She sighed after the short reminiscence. Sipping her vodka, she vowed never to let herself fall into the trap of love again.

She stood up from the bed with the glass of vodka in her hand and sauntered to her sitting room.

There's no way, I'm letting love in again. Liam's my last. Urghhh, I can't be letting trivial things take up space in my thoughts.

Her phone beeped and she checked the notification. It was a text message from Colly. A guy she met at a restaurant two days ago.

She had gone to cool off after another boring sexual affair with one random guy. She had wanted to use Felix to console herself but Felix was even worse than the first guy.

Her eyes rested on the warm text message from the guy. She liked how polite he was in the text, though she didn't want a guy who brought courtesy to sexual intercourse. "Hey Dian, how are you doing? How was your day?". She reread the message.

"Hey Colly, my day went well". She typed and sent it to him.

"Can I call you or should we just chat?" Colly sent another message and Diana chuckled.

"I prefer calls..." she typed and hit the send button. After a few seconds, a call came into her phone and she answered.

His first words amused her greatly "Thanks for having me call. I badly wanted to hear your voice".

"Good for you, then." She drawled.

"Can I meet you again?". Diana could feel his nervousness from the way he spoke.

"Yes, you can but what for?" She drawled seductively. "And I want us to meet in a hotel room behind closed doors."

"Diana... you're really good with words but meeting in a hotel room behind closed doors is too extreme. I want to get to know you more and get into a relationship, you know..."

"Is that it?". She scoffed "I'm sorry to announce this to you this early but I hate leading a man on. I'm not interested unless in a sexual affair with you, okay". She said nonchalantly. "Wow! That's really bad because, I don't know what a hot lady like you is doing having sex with random guys..."

"None of your business, young Sir. I think you might want us to end the call here".

After some petty talk, Diana was so grateful to end the call.

She dropped the vodka glass on a stool nearby and stood up. She sighed heavily and it echoed back at her. She dragged herself to the kitchen to prepare some food.

It wasn't too late for her to order something but she missed putting her hand to work in the kitchen and making her stomach growl from the aroma emanating from her dish. "What should I cook?" She thought with a finger placed on her lip. Her thoughts wandered around for a while until she settled for spiced noodles.

"Yes, great idea. So, bi will need my pan, cooking oil, sachets of noodles, chili pepper, lettuce, ginger and garlic, onions... and that's all, actually!". She concluded with a smile. Displayed in front of her were the ingredients she needed for a hot and spicy noodle dish.

"Now, let's get to work". She grinned in confidence.

After some seconds, she put the lid on the pot with a proud smile. Her stomach was already going mad with hunger and she just couldn't blame it. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes assuring herself of the worth of patience.
