Her King

Chapter 13

I excitedly go outside my room when I hear Regina’s voice, however, it seems strange because I was not able to sense her. I can’t stop myself from rolling my eyes when I watch Felix talking with Regina on a video call.

“Regina, meet my grumpy elder brother, Theo.” Then without even warning, he turns the camera to Theo’s face.

Theo glares at Felix, but his gaze slightly softens when Regina talks to him.

“Hello, Theo.” I hear her polite voice as if she doesn’t want to startle him.

His eyes flicker to the screen and nod his head in response.

“Are you guys for real?” She laughs, making Theo frown, “Another pair of violet eyes. God! you are making me damn envious.”

“That’s it. I am buying violet color contact lenses for myself.” She huffs to herself, “I am taking one of you guys with me because I want this exact violet color.”

Hearing this, even a hint of a smile appears on Theo’s face while Felix is laughing loudly.

“Hey, Atlas.” She smiles when I come into her view.

Before I can reply to her, some kind of crashing sounds come through the speaker.

“What’s that noise?” I frown when I hear some commotion from her background.

“I don’t know,” she answers as she peeks outside the window and then another crash sound is heard, “I will talk to you later.” Her calm tone confirms my assumption that there is something not right.

“Don’t hang up the call, I am coming,” I inform her already making my way outside to my car. Felix and Theo follow me, even they are tensed, sensing my anxiousness.

“No need, I will handle it,” she replies.

“Stay on the call with me,” I order trying to control my beast which is clawing to come outside sensing danger.

She doesn’t reply, but thankfully she doesn’t even disconnect the call.

I can sense even Felix and Theo are trying to stay calm but realizing Regina might be in some danger is making them agitated.

We share a very strong bond with our family. That’s why we can feel the pain when any one of us is hurt and we can also sense each other’s extreme emotions. Even though Regina has not formed a family bond with us, but my emotions are projecting on my brothers too, as they can feel my agitation and fear.

“Do you think hunters have found out about her?” Theo voices the question that has been in the back of my mind for some time.

“I don’t know, but if they hurt her in any way then I am going to kill every one of them.” My beast taking over as a loud hiss leaves my lips.

“Don’t worry brother, we are going to wipe them from the face of the earth if this time they tried to hurt our family,” Theo speaks through his clenched teeth, as face contorted into a menacing expression while pain is also visible behind his anger.

He has seen hunters killing our mother and that image still haunts him. Somewhere, he feels it his fault that our mother is not with us. He thinks if he was strong enough that time, then he could have saved our mother.

As soon as we reach Regina’s place loud gunshots ring, silencing the quietness around us.

After knocking out the security at the gate since he was not letting us in and we don’t have time to waste. Quickly, we go inside the house which looks nothing less than a mansion

Things are chaotic here, as there is a hole in the one side of the high brick wall which is surrounding the house as if somebody has crashed something into the wall.

“Who are you?” One of the security stops me, and it takes everything in me not to detach his hand from his body.

“King?” He asks as he has realized something.

“Yes.” I nod my head.

“Okay, Miss. Michaels has informed that you will be coming.” He steps back and nods his head realizing I am not an intruder.

“My brothers-” I start to inform him about my brothers, who took off in different directions as soon as we have stepped inside the house.

“Violet eyes family are no threat.” He nods his head, “We have got our orders.”

His walkie-talkie comes to live as static sound comes through the speakers.

And a slight wave of relief spread over my heart when I hear Regina’s voice.

“Dan, I need some guys in the basement.” Her authoritative tone holds no fear. “I am heading to the back of the house to check as I have heard some movement there.”

He curses loudly as he runs while shouting orders to others. I don’t need to look for directions to find Regina as our bond is helping me to take me to her.

The scent of Regina is getting more and more strong, as I cover the distance between us. I still can’t see her but I can clearly sense her around.

A loud bang, followed by a grunt of pain and curses sends me sprinting towards the source of the sound. My eyes land on Regina who is looking deadly calm while holding the gun in her hand. Whereas, a guy is sprawled in his own pool of blood a few feet away from Theo.

Regina’s face has a cold expression, however, there is a fierceness behind her eyes.

Theo cracks the head of another guy instantly killing him while looking at Regina in awe as his eyes are glowing because of his beast.

As if sensing my gaze, Regina’s eyes shift to me and a smile graces her lips. A smile that is gorgeous and deadly at the same time.

“You missed the fun.” She shrugs and walks towards me.

I immediately engulf her in my arms covering the remaining distance in two strides. My heart instantly calms to have her in my arms where I know no harm can reach her.

“Queen.” My beast forcefully takes over my body, “My queen," he whispers as he tightly clenches her against our chest.

“King?” I hear her confused voice even though she hasn’t seen me in my beast form yet.

She steps away while a surprise crosses her features as I wait to get my heart to tear into pieces because I don’t think I can bear if she gets scared of me or my beast.

But the next thing which happens completely leaves me speechless as she throws her arms around me.

“My King.” She whispers placing a kiss over my heart.
