Her Forever

(Book 5)- Chapter 50

Thaddeus

Too many things had happened in the past ten minutes for me to comprehend. Theon just exploded and damn popped into his half-wolf form. Dad missed it again; he would be pissed he did, but that is what you get when your nose is deep in your mate’s p***y. Poor mom, I shook my head, getting that awful image out of my head. I love my parents dearly, but my dad has an unimaginable appetite for mom.

Not only did Theon shift, but we have an ex-Alpha of the bear shifters now in our dungeons, all thanks to my sweet little mate. She may be a sexy vixen, but damn, she’s got some fire. The way she started ordering for wolves and bears alike to make their way to the cellar was hot as I’d get out. Trinity did it was grace a poise, I would just beat the ever-living life out of the twerp then maybe drag him down to the basement and beat him up some more.

Trinity already had the wheels turning in her head when she asked if he had a mate. Which he did, unfortunately. Meaning Trinity isn’t just going to kill the scum bag because he is tied to a mate that may be innocent.

“Where is his mate?” Trinity questioned as she looked through the crowd. She was greeted in silence as the bears looked at one another. “I said, where is his mate?” She yelled out again. Angry Trinity was so damn hot, my c**k immediately hardened, and I had to shift myself to try not to gather too much attention. Poor Theon over there was stark naked and didn’t have a way to hide his. Oh well.

Many bears continued to look around, shrugging their shoulders. Trinity pulled on Theon’s tall form and immediately went up on her tippy toes so she could whisper in his ear. His maw lifted up, teeth showing and baring for the crowd to see. Everyone stood back several feet until a loud roar erupted from his throat.

“Last warning, where is the former Alpha Scott’s mate? If I don’t get an answer, you will all be escorted to the dungeon and be seen as accomplices. Theon here will be happy to drag you there, and he isn’t in the mood for runners.” Women stepped back, holding their children. “Same goes for the women and children. We are under attack here; the lives of everyone on this territory are at stake.” A few seconds went by, Trinity raised her hand to let the order go into place until a little girl ran to the front.

“Miss wolf ma’am?” Trinity held back her cooing, trying to remain stoic, but I could see her heart melting at the sight of the little girl. Blonde pigtails with a bright pink ribbon and a black pleated skirt approached. Her head was low while she played with the hem of her dress. Trinity immediately crouched down and tilted the little girl’s head up.

“What is it, sweetie? Do you know where Alpha Scott’s mate is?” The girl nodded and pointed to the back of the crowd. As the crowd parted, there was no one there. “Honey, I don’t see anything,” Trinity’s voice remained stoic as her hand petted the girls’ hand. “They have her, those people hurting all the bears and wolves have her. Daddy said we had to come in here to get you guys to surrender so we could get mommy back.”

Scott was luring the wolves to come out, to be captured.

The bears gasped, starting to speak loudly and arguing with each other. “I knew we shouldn’t have trusted him!” One yelled loudly. “What a terrible alpha, leading us to our death! He planned this all along! He should have asked for help, not put us all here to slaughter!”

“Silence!” I roared through the crowd. “Girl,” I tried to soften my voice. “Why did your dad lead you here?”

The girl scooted closer to Trinity, holding onto her hair. “To get us all in one place, so they attack just one area instead of two.”

Theon roared, loud enough to shake the ground and packhouse around us. Everyone’s ears were covered while Theon went around and looked at each and every bear in the eye, looking for detection of lies that came out of the little girl’s mouth.

“What is your name, sweetie?” Trinity asked while pushing her hair back behind her ear. “Naomi.” She whispered.

“You were fearless to tell me that. Alpha Scott is your dad?” Naomi nodded. “What is your mother’s name?”

“Diedra. Mommy is very quiet, she whispers a lot, and sometimes dad can’t hear her very well. She tried to warn him that people were coming in the night looking through our cabin windows, but he didn’t believe her. One night, they came into the cabin and took her. She’s a small bear, and they gave her a shot, and she fell asleep when she tried to scream. I tried to tell daddy once they left, but he wouldn’t listen to me either.” Naomi began to sniff, her tiny tears falling down her face.

Trinity’s fists balled up in anger. “Don’t worry, we will get your mommy back, okay?” Naomi nodded, burying her face in Trinity’s chest. Trinity’s eyes turned black; it couldn’t possibly be her wolf, could it? It would take a few weeks for her to shift, but she was already showing signs of her wolf coming to the surface.

“This is all Scotts fault; he could have prevented this.” Trinity stood up, with Naomi on her h*p. “It’s time for him to pay, but I don’t want his mate to suffer because of him.”

I shook my head, “once Bohdi arrives, she can put a ward over his mate before we can torture the prick. For now, it is just a waiting game,” I spoke to Trinity, reassuring her.

“Rogues,” growled Theon. Again, Theon stood to his full height, letting out a mighty roar for the entire area to hear. He let our warriors know that time was the essence. A large howl came from the distance to the North, the exact location we had trouble with not only a few days ago. Only a quarter of the warrior pack army would travel with us to the North, knowing it may just be a diversion. The rest would remain here for the packhouse protection.

“Please, Trinty, stay here and make sure the women and children are safe?” Trinity didn’t argue; she pecked me on the cheek, carrying little Naomi and ordering those to follow her to the basement bunker under the dining area. “My mother will be taken there too, right?” My forehead touched hers, leaving a swift k**s on her nose.

“Of course, your father and the rest of the medical team are heading down there now.” Trinity bit her l*p, staring at me with furrowed brows.

“Return to me? The both of you?” Trinity’s hand gripped my shirt while I grabbed the back of her hair, tilting her head back. “Always.” One passionate k**s later, I raced off into the woods. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to see her go.

Lenhi followed Trinity with her baby boy in her arms, too dazed to realize what was happening. Her eyes were clouded in an amber color while her feet barely touched the ground. “Come on, Lenhi, we have to move.” Trinity’s hand was caught between Lenhi as all the women and children followed close behind. Lehi’s distant look only worried me. Some witches have premonitions and would often have a spaced look on their eyes. There was no time to question her; the northern border was at risk.

Once the last women and children were in the building, I had ripped my clothes to meet my father, who had jumped out of the third-story window. Mom waved goodby as she ran down the stairs to meet the others in the bunker.

Mom must be weak if she is not out fighting. Staying in a bunker would be the last thing she would do. “Let’s go,” Dad growled, pulling me to the forest.

“Let’s go; your mother is safe,” he growled again. We took our long strides together, running through the woods to keep up with the rest of the pack. Several of the strongest stayed behind in the central courtyard, such as Landon and Spencer, in case of an ambush.

Jumping over streams, swimming through a wide river, we arrived at the North, several bears were growling, pacing, and foaming at the mouth. Not your typical bear stance when threatening another tribe or pack. They were acting differently and not their usually fighting selves. Bears were known to be calm before a fight, saving their energy for the war themselves. These were foaming at the mouth, clawing at the ground just beyond the borderline. Several had scratches on their faces, eyes torn from their sockets.

“Josiah,’ Theon growled out. His venom dripped from the sharp fangs of his half form. His wolf, Duke, trying to gain control to take over the situation. Duke wanted to rip the prick’s head off, but Theon was too strategic for that. Theon liked to mess with his enemies, get into their heads, and lose themselves before finally pushing the final blow.

“What do you want, teddy bear?” Theon mocked. Josiah roared, the heat of his breath spun into the cold air while standing on his back legs, meeting us just under seven feet in height.

One werebear stood in human form with just a pair of shorts. His body was littered with fresh scratches that weren’t healing like they should. The only scratches that didn’t heal quickly were that of silver. He’s been tortured.

“Josiah says you know what he wants. Bring Trinity here, and the bear tribe and wolf pack go free,” the man held his ground, not wavering in the slightest. His own mouth was foaming in human form.

“Think again, cub; she’s been mated and marked. Whatever sick twisted ways you wanted with her are now gone. She’s ours,” I shouted. My claws grew a few inches longer, ready to impale the stuffing out of the little teddy before me.

The bear looked at Josiah, having a silent conversation with him. “That does make things more difficult, but the demand still stands. Our master wants her, and he will have her. Either by trade or by force. I also heard a young little girl misses her mommy.” The man taunted. A small brown bear was dragged by her scruff, a silver chain dug into her neck tightly, drawing b***d. The small growls a gruffs were heard across our warriors, who winced at the bear’s cries. The cries were worse than nails on a chalkboard.

“Noooo, nooooo,” the bear Deidra tried to speak with her bear maw. Trying to shapeshift her face, she was kicked into her side. “Nooo,” we heard the grunt again until her head lulled back to unconsciousness.

“f*****g bastard,” I growled in our family link. My dad was a man of few words, but his steps digging into the dirt was a sign for both of my brother and me that we were about to strike. There weren’t many bears and rogue wolves here at the line, but who knows how many were hidden in the trees.

“None hiding in the tree, your majesties,” Alonso, one of our best trackers, stuck his nose in the air. “They travel alone; my suspicions they are testing to see what we will do.” Theon nodded at Alonso, who pushed back into the crowd.

“Formation Pine Ridge 4,” Theon mind-linked our forces. Mom had taught us to name each formation just like they do in a football game. That way, everyone knows their positions and way to fight, so we didn’t have to call which wolf we wanted to first. A strange concept but dad does what mom wants.

“NOW!” Dad lunged forward first, ripping the arm off the unshifted werebear; he was drug to a nearby tree tied and gagged. He would be the only survivor minus Diedra, the hostage. The battle was over in mere minutes. The entire platoon could have been taken out by just my brother and father; we let our comrades have some fun too. They were well trained in the ways of combat; they were the royal army, after all.

Once the b***d was spilled on the ground, the wolves sated with the b***d on their lips and fur, we all panted in relief. There was no second wave coming, and that alone was worrisome. Amato could be watching our every move, studying how we fight. He may be much stronger than we realized, and he was just toying with us.

For sure, he would not get Trinity or her mother. We would destroy all the weapons that threaten any shifter’s existence, and we would succeed.
