Her Forever

(Book 5)- Chapter 49

Trinity

“What do you mean there is a problem?” Thaddeus snarled; his hands were around my waist in an instant. My body was almost completely bare except for the oversized t-shirt covering my mates’ favorite parts. My bum was a different story, the shirt had ridden up, and the lower part of my cheeks was showing, so Theon took it upon himself to press his covered manhood against me.

A Trinity sandwich! I laughed at my joke until Theon stiffened when Alpha Big Paw entered the room.

“Your highnesses, it is imperative you come outside, along with your Luna. We have many decisions to partake in, and since you and your family are on the grounds, it is up to you what we should decide.”

Theon jumped off the bed, putting on some joggers and throwing another pair to Thaddeus while Big Paw walked out the door. Jumping off the bed, I grabbed my own pair of leggings and tied the oversized shirt around my waist.

“Trinity,” Thaddeus pleaded. My eyes darted in his direction, my finger about to poke him into his chest until Theon stopped the both of us.

“It’s a good idea; Trinity is taking on the Luna Role; it’s time for her to see how we deal with things.” Thaddeus went to argue, but I pecked his lips with mine to silence him.

“I’m a big girl, Bambi.” I swayed my h**s to the door, blowing a k**s their way; they scrambled to the door, both wrapping their hands around my waist. Seduction was going to be the only way I could get my way! Eva howled in my head.

“Dang girl, you don’t need me.”

“Hell yeah do, you tell me how to do the kinky stuff when I really

need something, alright?”

“Deal!” She howled.

As we proceeded down the stairs, the hallways became quiet; the wolves all stood in the main foyer with blank looks on their faces, whispering so low that Theon and Thaddeus couldn’t make out what they were saying. The pups usually racing in the back of the packhouse around the entertainment room were now standing outside with their hands behind their backs.

Stacy was also standing at the sofa with Spencer by her side; of course, Landon was not too far behind her as he lurked in the shadows.

Creeper much?

“What’s going on?” I whispered. My boys shook their heads, but their hands tightened against my waist. Following Big Paw outside, hundreds of wolves below the packhouse steps. Seth and Sadie were nowhere to be found. “Where are your parents?” I whispered. Thaddeus sighed heavily.

“They are in their room and cannot be disturbed. We are the pack’s leaders in charge right now.”

“But why!? They are the king and queen of shifters, right?” Theon rubbed his thumb on the back of my hand.

“Mom has been working really hard with your Mom getting the poison out of her system. Mom doesn’t normally heal humans, so it took a lot out of her, so she’s resting. Dad won’t leave her side. He is leaving it up to us to decide what to do.”

“Don’t make that face, Trinity,” Thaddeus threatened. “Mom knew what she was doing, and she wanted to help. Your Mom is making big steps to recovery, and she will continue to help as much as she can until she wakes up, alright?” I nodded, still feeling the warmth of my heart being both elated and heavy. His family was really trying to help mine.

“Prince Theon, Thaddeus, and Luna Trinity,” Alpha Big Paw announced in his urged voice. “I give you Alpha Scott of the Bear Tribe.” Many wolves in the crowd snarled. Some looked on in suspicion, and many wolves took their pups, pulling them away from the excitement and back to their homes.

“Report,” Theon’s body hardened. “How did they come on our territory without notice?” Alpha Scott stood his ground, but his face gave it all away. He was petrified, unable to protect the women, children who had followed him into the Red Moon territory.

“I’ve come to beg, plead even,” Alpha Scott got on his knees, shaking before my mates. Everyone gasped for air as the Alpha Bear put his forehead to the dirt. “Save the women and children, please. I have my men, we will fight to the very end, but I do not have enough resources to save those who are innocent in all of this.” Scott clawed the dirt with his claws, hitting it several times before his eyes met mine.

Thaddeus and Theon stood with their arms crossed, stoic as they contemplated their next move. The women behind Alpha Scott held babies, children, in their arms as they wept freely amongst the rest of the pack. The mighty bears known for their strength and endurance against the woods were now huddled in fear. But from what?

“Alpha Scott?” I broke the silence, everyone’s eyes were now on me, but I didn’t care for their judgmental eyes. I was my mates’ Luna, and I was called to speak to the werebears. “What do you need protecting from exactly?” Alpha Scott shuttered while another woman wailed in the back; several women tried to hold her up but continued to hold her stomach. Rushing towards her, a claw mark appeared on her stomach until one showed up across her neck.

The woman tried to speak, grabbing the oversized shirt on my body. “The gas, the rogues,” b***d sputtered from her lips. “They are trying to kill us all. The children…” the young woman, not much older than me, stopped speaking as the b***d ran cold down her neck and onto the ground. My own hands were covered in her crimson stains.

“Matteo Amato,” I growled under my lips. The woman who was now lifeless in my arms pushed one last breath from her lips, and her head leaned back with her eyes closed.

“What happened? Why did she die? No one was hurting her?” Theon came to my side, pulling my arms away from her, setting her on the ground. Several women came forth with a blanket to put over her body.

“Her mate,” Theon whispered. “He didn’t make it.” I gasped loudly, falling to my rear end. My mouth covered in b***d was now smeared on my face. “This is what happens, babe. Once you are bonded, and one dies, your soul follows your mate. Only under certain circumstances will you be able to stay alive once your mate dies.” Clutching my heart, my eyes looked to Theon.

“Such as a child, born through the bond could keep a mate alive until the child is old enough to survive on its own.” Theon helped me stand; his hand gripped mine tightly. Before I was able to speak, another werebear spoke from the back.

“It’s her fault, you know!” A younger woman spoke. “We were just fine until that Irish trash came upon this town causing problems. Now they demand the girl with the fire hair. We should take her in or make her leave. Why don’t you pack up your potatoes and get out of here? That way, they will follow you and leave us the hell alone.”

The entire red moon pack roared with protest. Many shifted into wolves, and others grabbed spears, slingshots, and knives laced with silver.

For a short moment, the thought occurred to me to leave. That my stepfather would follow me to another area and leave these poor shifters alone. I was the one who had created these problems for the entire community and town that I moved into. However, my stepfather’s men were here before working on those biohazard weapons. It wasn’t my fault, and if I left, some would still stay, and another set of men would follow me. There wasn’t a clear answer.

“It’s not,….” I paused, glaring into the bear’s eyes. “My fault. They were here long before I came to your town, your territory. I grew up with my stepfather making these weapons, and he was broke, bankrupt; someone is now supplying him with an enormous amount of money to make these weapons. They don’t hurt humans like they do to supernaturals; how does Amato know? Someone must have told him because all my life living under his roof, not once did he mention anything about destroying a supernatural.” My face darted to Alpha Scott. His knees were still in the dirt, shaking.

Walking closer to him, Thaddeus stood by my side, holding my forearm. “Alpha Scott, would you know anything about that?” Scott looked up at me, Thaddeus growled harshly.

“W-why would I know anything? I’m trying to protect my people!”

“You seem pretty hell-bent getting everyone in here, though. Did you know there was an army of wolves in here?” Not only that, you have a bunch of bears that don’t seem to take so kindly to you, such as Josiah?” Scott winced as I yelled at him. I turned to Thaddeus.

“You are using your Luna voice on him; he has to listen,” his stoic face turned into a reassuring smile.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that,” I whispered. Thaddeus’ chest puffed out and pulled me to him.

“It was hot as hell, babe. You are just trying to protect everyone, and that is what makes you the perfect Luna.” I hope I can live up to my mates’ expectations. I bit my l*p, still waiting for Alpha Scott to speak; everyone was watching, waiting.

“We haven’t got all day, Scott. So far, you have lost your title, so you might as well spill it,” Theon snapped, his hand pulling Scott up by his rags of a shirt.

“Fine, fine.” Scotts puts his hands up in surrender. “I noticed that Josiah had been acting suspicious lately; I sent out a few bears to watch him. He likes to hang out with the hunters in town; he finds out where the best game is instead of finding it for himself. Josiah likes the Linx, bucks, and sometimes the real black bears wandering in for the food the hunters leave behind. Josiah ended up friending this one hunter several months back that turned out not to be a hunter at all. He was scouting the area, wanting to buy the whole town and everything around it. Turn it into a massive hunting resort and a spa for the women. The place would have cost millions to build and even put in its own small airport. That pissed Josiah off because then our whole tribe would have to move.”

Scott brushed off some dirt on his arm and continued. “When one of my bears heard this, he had to step in because Josiah was getting mad, his bear was coming to the surface, but it was too late, Josiah killed the human in one swipe. Both of them buried the human far from town and went on their way.”

“You are supposed to report this, Alpha Scott! Alpha Big Paw is the head Alpha of the area, and you denied him that information?!” Thaddeus stepped forward, but Scott stayed grounded.

“I know what I did was wrong, but I was trying to see the greater outcome; the hunter died, so he couldn’t report back that this was good land to hunt. Problem solved, or so I thought. More people came; they stayed on the outskirts of town in fancy RV’s and campers. We didn’t connect the dots until one night, several bears were out hunting, and this can be thrown at them by men covered in black. There was no smell to them, and the gas spread violently across the ground. Those that inhaled it instantly died. I saw it with my own eyes. I scrambled up a tree and was lucky enough not to inhale it. I watch each of my brothers get drug off back to their campsite.

I informed Elijah that he had to stay away from them. No one was allowed to travel at night or to the east side of our territory until they left. They were just in RVs, so they couldn’t be permanent. Days turned to weeks and then to months, and we realized they weren’t moving.

I had Josiah start to befriend them, get to know them, and understand them better. I gave him full reign on the area, trying to figure these guys out. Since the day that Prince Theon swiped Elijah across the chest, I haven’t seen him. No one has, and my fear is that he has gone to help those hunters.”

“Yeah, no s**t!” Thaddeus punched Scott right in the nose. “You are such an i***t! You have put this entire area in danger because you didn’t come to us with this information!”

Theon and Thaddeus took a few steps back; both of their hands grew claws. “Do you know how many laws you have broken, Scott?” Theon’s head began to shake violently. Thaddeus pulled me back into his chest.

“What’s happening?” My breath began to breathe heavily. My body felt like being yanked into several pieces as I stared and watched as Theon scratched, pulling at his skin.

“He’s changing into his half form,” Thaddeus whispered. “Just like I did,” he huskily whispered in my ear.

“Why now?! I can almost feel him changing inside me,” I almost sobbed. Thaddeus held me close, turning my face to it was buried in his chest.

“We are all bonded together now,” Thaddeus placed a k**s on my forehead. “He’s angry that the shifters blame you for bringing them here, he’s angry that an Alpha didn’t do his job, his wolf is pissed, and now it’s time for him to release his beast.”

I could hear the bones cracking; the skin was thrown off his body, hitting the ground with a loud, wet slap. Many wolves and bears stood their ground, shaking, not daring to move unless they wanted to be the next victim. A mighty roar left his maw; Theon now stood well over 7 feet tall, just as Thaddeus did when he brought me back home.

I would never get used to the frightening face they had, mate or not. It was otherworldly that they came straight from the underworld.

“You disrespect my mate; you allowed valuable information to slip through the head alpha of this region; you have caused every single death since they have arrived.” The thunderous voice reverberated between the trees. The leaves fell heavily, not in the beautiful way they usually do when the light breezes cause them to fall closer to winter.

No, these leaves were hurried, ready to leave the wrath that Theon was instilling into nature around him. Peaking away from Thaddeus’ chest, Theon approached me, getting on his knees. “What will my queen have me do with this scum?” Everyone looked at me, waiting for an answer. What would I say? I was new to all of this. What punishment would I grant?

“Does he have a mate?” I asked. “Alpha Scott nodded his head. I couldn’t ask him to be put to death; his wife could be innocent. It made it so much harder.

“Lock him in the dungeons until we question his mate.” Theon smiled, a large lick on my hand came down on me. The warriors from both the werebears and of the Red Moon pack took hold of Ex-Alpha Scott took them to the dungeon where Elijah had died just days before.
