Chapter Chapter Twenty-Five: Jail
My eyes shot open and I immediately groaned. The light was too bright, and I felt like shit.
"Fuck!" I growl running for my bathroom. The contents of my stomach were emptied out into the toilet.
I hear Shade come in laughing.
"Have you ever been drunk before?" She asks. I growl at her before shaking my head.
"It sucks huh?" I glare at her and wipe my mouth.
"What do you want?"
"I'm not allowed to come and check up on my sis?" She asks putting a hand over her heart, feigning hurt. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm taking a shower, I feel disgusting," I say wrinkling my nose. I took off the pajamas that Shade must have put me in last night, and jumped into the shower.
The water was hot and I sighed at the feeling.
"You look like crap, how much did you drink last night?" Shade asks, sounding amused.
"Two Salts, two bottles of vodka, and six beers," I say remembering last night.
"Are you serious?" She gasped. I nodded and she shook her head in disbelief.
"I can't believe you were even able to stand last night after all of that, no wonder you passed out," she snorted.
"Well I am going to eat and watch TV all day today. Or we could go out into town again," I say turning off the shower and wrapping myself in a fluffy black towel.
"What would we do this time?" she says rolling her eyes.
"Something fun," I say with a smirk.
I walk into my room and change into a black floral dress. The sleeves were long but the dress came just below my ass.
"You scare me sometimes Raven," Shade says as we head for the kitchen.
I turn to face her, and let my canines sharpen. I bare my teeth and my eyes turn red.
Her eyes widen and she shoves me away from her.
"I that the only good thing about having a Lycan with red eyes is that it is great for scaring," I say laughing. Shade glares at me and we search the kitchen.
"There is nothing edible in here!" I say exasperated throwing my hands in the air. May and Lily walk in with raised eyebrows.
"We need to stock up, why don't you just get something to eat in town?" Lily suggests. I smile and run back into my room to grab my shoes and my phone.
I decide to take two guns this time, and strap them to my thigh. Shade and I head out the silver door and jog through the tunnels to our bikes.
*****************
We walk into the restaurant and I realize that it is much nicer than I thought it would be. We get seated by a window and we order our food.
"When are you leaving to go to your pack again?" I ask. Shade glances at me quickly before looking back out the window.
"I don't know," she says. I can tell she is lying but I don't know why she would. I decide to shrug it off and forget it.
"Okay. What do you want to do after this?" I ask as our food comes.
I dig into my waffles as Shade thinks.
"We should just go back home to practice in the arena," she says.
"Well first I want to stop somewhere," I tell her as we finish our food. I pay quickly and we head outside.
"Where are we going?" Shade asks as I lead her to one of the stores.
"I need to see something," I say avoiding telling her. We go into the gas station and Shade gives me a funny look.
"There are TVs in gas stations," I say looking at the screen above the counter.
"Why do you need to see the-oh shit," Shade say looking at the TV. It was on the news and it was showing pictures of the man Shade killed last night.
I asked the man behind the counter to turn up the volume so we could hear. He did and started watching it as well.
"...this man was stabbed in the stomach last night at a nightclub. Police currently have two suspects witnesses say they saw stab the man then run. We were able to get their pictures through the security cameras," the news anchor was saying.
I held my breath and hoped they got the wrong people. But I was wrong, and the next thing I know, pictures of Shade and I were plastered across the screen.
"Fuck!" I cursed. The cashier looked back and forth between us and the screen.
He tried to run behind the counter for the phone, but I had one of my guns pulled out and aimed at his head in seconds.
"Don't even think about it," I growled. His eyes were wide and he put his hands up in surrender.
I smashed my gun into his head, and he fell to the floor unconscious.
"That is why I wanted to see the TV," I say to Shade. She nodded numbly and I dragged her outside.
That's when I noticed the cops crawling everywhere searching for Shade and I. And stupid me, forgot to put my gun away.
"Hey, over there!" I heard one of them shout pointing at me. I looked at my gun, and they saw it too.
They ran towards us, pulling out their own guns.
"Oh, shit," Shade said snapping out of her trance. We ran for the forest, but the cops weren't far behind.
Thank goodness I wore my vans rather than heels. We ran as hard as we could, and slowly the distance between us grew.
I stop and see if they are following us. When I see that we lost them, I lean against a tree and blow out a huge breath.
"I hope they don't find that cashier," I muttered. Shade rested beside me.
"But they will, and then you'll be in trouble too," Shade says.
"I'm already in trouble," I scoff.
"What?"
"I'm wanted for murder in 22 countries and 36 US states," I snort.
"And now 37 states," Shade says blowing out a breath and shaking her head. I laugh, but it is cut off when a smell hits my nose.
"Wolves from Blake's pack," I say in realization.
"I wonder what they are doing here?" Shade asks. I shrug and start following the scent.
It gets stronger really fast and we come into a clearing that they burst into. That's when I see the cop uniforms and the guns.
"Damn it!" I curse tiredly. I raise my gun and shoot the nearest one in the chest, he fell to the ground.
The other wolf cops started to shoot at Shade and I, and Shade pulled out several knives. I was shooting and she was throwing.
There were at least 10 of them, and I heard more coming.
"You'd think that they wouldn't shoot at their Alpha," Shade said as a knife buried itself in a wolf's head.
I groaned when I remembered the bartender from last night.
"I told a wolf from the pack that I was giving up my position as Alpha because Blake was back. He must have told the pack, or somehow they found out," I growled angrily.
Shade laughed that this was my fault. I went to shoot another wolf, but I had no more bullets.
Don't use your other gun, Ira growled at me.
Why? I snarled at her.
Just don't! She said forcefully.
I'm going to trust you this time, but I will kill you if you are wrong.
Good luck with that, she laughed.
I cursed and smashed my gun into the wolf's head. Tossing it away, I turned to Shade who had no more knives.
"Fuck," I growled.
"I think you set the record for the most curse words in one day," she laughed. I growled at her and she just shrugged.
"Today is so not my day," I groaned. The wolf cops surrounded us and I was forces to put my hands behind my back.
I realized that the handcuffs were silver, and I chuckled shaking my head.
Did they really think that would stop me?
Shade hissed as the silver burned her skin. I winced to pretend that it affected me as well.
My arms were roughly grabbed and Shade and I were taken to the police station.
************
We were standing in front of a jail cell, and forfor some reason they decided to check us for weapons right now.
The old man that was checking me was a friggin' pedophile. When his hands grabbed my breasts, I decided I had had enough.
I snapped the chain connecting the handcuffs and had my other gun to his head in seconds. He reached for his own gun, but I hit him with the barrel of mine.
I heard the releasing of a safety behind me and saw that the man that was frisking Shade now had his gun to my head.
Shade jumped and brought her handcuffed hands under her while he was distracted.
I growled and shot him in the leg. His gun went off as he fell, and I felt pain in my shoulder. I looked to see a bloody hole where it ripped through my dress and peirced my shoulder.
Shade and I ran through the hall, until we were stopped by a dozen officers with guns.
"Why does this keep happening?" Shade groaned snatching my gun and tossing it to the ground. I snickered and plastered a smirk across my face.
"We are in the middle of a police station stupid," I snorted. She glared at me and her handcuffs were undone, then refastened back behind her back.
I heard them arguing and trying to figure out how I broke mine as they put new ones on.
"Morons," I muttered under my breath. Apparently one of them was a werewolf and heard me, because I got smacked in the back of the head.
"Watch your tone," he growled. The other officers left and he brought me back to the cell, with Shade being taken by another wolf.
"Do you even know who I am?" I ask with raised eyebrow.
"How about I don't care," he dismissed. I stopped in my tracks and he ran into me.
"Keep moving," he hissed. I turned around and looked him dead in the eye.
"Don't you dare speak to me that way," I growled angrily. He took an involuntary step back at my Alpha voice, and his eyes widened at my red ones.
"Sorry," he muttered and I walked myself back to my cell along with Shade.
I sat down on the bunk after breaking my handcuffs and tossing them into the hallway. The guard took off Shades handcuffs and she sat beside me, rubbing her wrists.
"What now?" She asks me.
"Well we either break out, or have our mothers bail us out," I shrug.
"Didn't we just try to break out?"
"No we didn't. I have broken out of 17 jail cells, and 3 prisons, and that is not how you do it. I just have never been arrested in a dress before. It complicated things a not, plus I was always alone," I add. She glares at me and we turn to face the bars of the cell.
Suddenly I hear a beeping sound and two women walk in. I groan and slam my head against the wall.
They stood in front of the cell with arms crossed, and pissed off faces. Shade gives a small wave.
"Hey mom."
