Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 23

Gamma Jose Gomez - POV

“Stop!” someone screamed, but all I could see was red. My Wolf wanted to see Beta Lanzo’s blood splattered on the floor, and that was exactly what I wanted too. Beta Lanzo was already looking like he would lose consciousness anytime now, but I didn't stop beating the daylights out of him. “Pull him off.” someone commanded, and soon I felt multiple hands around me, and they hauled me away from that bastard, saving his pitiful life.

Some of the warriors pulled beta Lanzo and propped him against the wall. He was still conscious, but I don't think he would last for long.

“Adella?” I heard Summer’s desperate voice, and that is when everything around me began to register in my mind. The hallway was crowded with warriors and all the guests who were downstairs. Alpha Ralph walked up to me, and I thought that he was going to yell at me for beating his beta, but he walked past me and stood in front of Beta Lanzo.

“What the hell did you do, Damien?” Alpha Ralph questioned, but Beta Lanzo was in no state to give him a proper reply. He started to mumble incoherent words, which made Alpha Ralph frown and look away from him. “Take him to the pack hospital and get him treated, and then, throw him in the dungeon.” Alpha Ralph instructed, and soon, the warriors carried him away. I got up from the floor wiped the blood off my eyebrow, and walked out to the balcony.

Adella was hurled up against one corner of the balcony with her legs against her chest, and her body was shivering uncontrollably. I walked up to her and noticed that there were large hand prints on her shoulder, and her dress was torn from the sleeve. “Adella.” I bent down and lightly lifted her face to look at me.

Tears had smudged her makeup her eyes were red, and I saw the fear in them. Without a word, she hugged me, and for a few seconds, I stood frozen before I wrapped my hands around her. “Everything is okay. He is gone.” I whispered into her ears.

“Adella.” Summer rushed to Adella’s side while I saw that she was silently crying too. I gently pulled myself away from her, removed my coat, and draped it around her body. “Adella, are you all right?” Summer asked, but she didn't answer.

“Summer?” Summer and I looked up to see Alpha Ralph standing there.

“She must be traumatized. Why don't you take her to the pack hospital first? We will talk about the rest later.” Alpha Ralph suggested, and she nodded her head. Summer and I slowly helped Adella get up from the floor, and two other women helped her out of there. My eyes didn't stray away from my mate till she vanished into the corner.

“Gamma Gomez.” I looked at Alpha Ralph.

“Alpha Ralph, I hope you know what happened in here,” I asked him, and he nodded his head.

“Summer told me what Beta Lanzo tried to do. I am ashamed of having a beta like him.”

“It is not your fault, Alpha Ralph,” I told him, and he nodded his head.

“Can you tell me what happened here exactly?” Alpha Ralph asked me, and I nodded my head.

“I came upstairs to the bathroom since the one downstairs was occupied when I heard someone banging on the glass door.” I lied, and he nodded his head for me to go on. “When I opened the door and walked out, I saw Beta Lanzo trying to forcefully Mark Adella and that was when I intervened,” I told him, and he nodded his head.

“Even though it is hard for me to believe this, I guess after hearing about my beta’s behavior from my pack members, I have no option,” he said, and I nodded my head.

Adella Arcos - POV

“Talk to me, Ella.” Summer begged for the nth time, but words got stuck in my throat. I didn't know what I should do now. Should I scream, cry, or yell? A storm was brewing inside me while on the outside, I maintained a blank look on my face. “Adella, you are scaring me. Please…”

“Ma’am,” I heard a feminine voice. “I think it's better to leave her alone for some time. Let her come out of this trauma.” the woman suggested, and Summer looked at me with concern before she nodded her head got up, and left the room.

I pulled Jose’s blazer closer against my body, lay down on the bed, and curled myself. Gradually, tears started to flow down my cheeks when everything started to sink in. I closed my eyes and just went back to the happy days I spent.

“Adella?” when I opened my eyes, I saw that Summer was sitting on a chair next to my bed. “How are you feeling right now?” she asked me.

“I don't know,” I mumbled. There are a lot of things I am feeling right now, and I am not able to give a name to a particular feeling.

“Do you hurt somewhere?” she asked me, and I nodded my head. I didn't show my neck to anyone yet, afraid that they would say the thing that I was dreading to hear.

Knock knock

“Come in.” Summer said, and soon Jose walked into the room. His face was etched with worry when he saw me, but I averted my glance, I felt ashamed to even see him. After what happened today, I don't think he would be ready to accept me.

“Adella, the doctor told me that you didn't let them even check your wounds.” Jose began. “Please let go of the blazer and let them see if you are all right,” Jose asked me, but I shook my head.

“I don't think they can do anything about it, Jose,” I told him, still avoiding eye contact.

“Adella,” he gently placed his hand on my shoulder, igniting the sparks between us, but I jolted away from him as it burnt me.
