Gamma’s Destined Mate.

Chapter 24

Adella Arcos - POV

Jose raised his hands in the air showing that he would not touch me. “Please calm down, Adella,” he spoke slowly, making sure I got each word that he said. “Now the doctor will come in here to check for your wounds. Will you please show it to her?” he asked me, and even though I didn't want to, I begrudgingly nodded my head.

Knock knock.

Both of us looked towards the door when it opened and the doctor entered. “Shall we do the check-up?” she asked in a sweet voice, Jose nodded his head and stepped aside, she walked towards me with a reassuring smile on her face. “Can you please remove the coat so that I can check, Adella?” she asked me, and a few moments later, I slid it off my body. She slightly pushed my head to the left when a gasp left her mouth. “Oh my!”

“What happened, doctor?” Jose asked, panicked, and he stepped forward when he saw the mark. “Did he fucking mark her?” he gritted out while tears started flowing down my cheeks again.

“I can not tell for certain, Gamma Gomez. But I guess I will call in one of the healers and ask what this is.” the doctor said before she started walking towards the door. “I will be back in a moment,” she said before she rushed out.

“How dare that bastard Mark you!” Summer yelled, and she walked up to me and pulled me into a hug.

“My life is ruined, isn't it?” I choked out while she just kept smoothing my hair, not uttering a word.

“Please stop crying, darling.” Summer mumbled into my ears, but I just couldn't stop the tears. I can still feel Beta Lanzo’s canines on my mark. The pain that I felt when he marked me was pulsing through my veins. My eyes slowly looked up when I saw Jose standing there, frozen in his spot, it seemed like he was having an internal battle with his wolf because his eye color constantly kept changing.

After a long time, Summer pulled away from me, and when she turned around, she noticed that Jose was struggling to control his wolf. She walked towards him and gently placed her hand on his shoulder, which momentarily brought his eye color back to normal. “I guess it would be best if you get some fresh air, Gamma Gomez. I…”

“No, I will stay here till the doctor comes back,” he stated firmly, and Summer didn't dare force him either, so she silently walked back to my side, took a seat on the chair, took my hand in hers, and lightly squeezed it. My heart rate doubled every time the seconds ticked by in the clock that was mounted to the wall.

“…I am not sure…” the room door opened again, and the doctor walked in with an older woman. “Adella, she is the healer.” the doctor introduced, and I only managed to nod my head. The healer walked closer to me and stood opposite Summer.

“Can I see that mark on your neck, dear?” she asked me, and I nodded my head. Summer let my hand go and I turned around and showed her my mark. She moved closer to my neck and gently placed her fingers on it, sending a cooling sensation all over my body. “Hmm, it is indeed a mark.” she began, and this made my heart sink to the pit of my stomach.

“Does that mean beta Lanzo will be her mate?” Summer asked, but the healer didn't answer her question yet. She examined the wound closer before she stepped back and looked at everyone in the room.

“This is called a temporary mate Mark. Luckily, he didn't have the time to completely Mark her as his, So this mark will fade off within two to three weeks. But there is a downside to it.” she said.

“What is it?” Jose asked.

“If she finds her mate, he will not be able to mark her as his because if he does, it will be dangerous for her life.” this statement brought mixed emotions within me. I was delighted that I was not beta Lanzo’s mate, but at the same time, Jose would not be able to mark me as his either.

“Thank you for your time.” Summer said, and she nodded her head before she left the room. The doctor walked closer to me.

“I think there are a few minor wounds, but that will go off in a day,” she said, and I nodded my head.

“Can we take her home now, Doctor?” Summer asked, and the doctor nodded her head before she left the room. “Do you want to go home now?” Summer asked me, and I nodded my head. The longer I was in this room, the more anxious I was getting.

“Let me help you,” Jose said, and he walked towards me and helped me get down from the bed.

“Let's take her to my place.” Summer said, and I looked up at her. I didn't want to be a burden to her than I am anymore.

“No, let's go to my place. I…” she turned around and glared at me, which made me stop my sentence.

“You are not even stable enough to walk properly, and you want to go and stay alone there?” she asked me with an arched eyebrow, and I shook my head.

“You are already expecting, Summer. And it would be difficult for you if I came and stayed at your house.” I tried to convince her, but she shook her head, and right then, the room door opened, and Vince walked in.

“Vince, you came here at the right time.” Summer began. “Adella wants to go back to her house and stay. Can you put some sense into her head?”

“Why do you want to go home, Ella?” Vince asked me.

“You guys are already running a hectic schedule, and I don't want to burden you,” I said, and he shook his head.

“You are coming to stay with us, and that is final,” Vince said.
