Chapter Pool
I was lining up my shot, fully concentrating on the pool game when I heard his voice from behind me. ’Take a hike Sigh.’ He sneered at Sky.
I growled and completely missed my ball. He would be missing one too soon.
Sky quipped at him but still left the side room and wandered back into the Dunnager. Mourad was standing watch outside the door, basically leaving me alone with Dosch.
‘Carina.’ He greeted me, but the usual warmth was missing in his eyes as if he had cast a film of ice in front of them. He was staring me up and down and licking his lips again though. That part was still completely Dominic Rios.
‘What do you want?’ I snapped. Slammed my pool stick on the ground and leaned on it. He stepped closer in silence until he was toe to toe with me. His scent reached my nostrils and I took in a sharp breath when I felt my whole body responding to him like I was on fire. Damn that man.
He chuckled. ‘What’s wrong, Carina?’ he caressed my neck again like he always did and it made it even worse. My body floating now. Hovering to be closer. Needing to be everywhere at once, where this man was.
‘You don’t talk to Sky like that.’ I angrily whispered. I have no idea why I felt the urge to whisper either.
He gave me another crooked smile, eyes dark and dangerous as always. Pupils were heavily dilated.
‘I thought about it and I want you to cancel the Vincent meeting.’
Now it was my time to chuckle. ’Well guess what, Dominic. You don’t get to tell me what to do.’
His grip on my neck tightened a little bit but I was not afraid.
‘You’re going to choke me, Dom?’ I said, not even a little bit scared of him and my own voice betraying me as well, that I found his hands on my neck hot. He noticed and squeezed a little bit harder but all that did was turn me on more.
‘Your nipples still get hard for me, huh.’ He noted while staring at my white shirt. ’Your breath hitched. I bet you are already soaking downstairs.’ I was not about to let him get me riled up like that even though he was utterly and completely right.
He whispered in my ear, his hot breath caressing my earlobe intentionally. ‘What panties are you wearing?’ but I ignored that and grabbed his crotch instead. I was satisfied with what I found. He was hard as a rock. ‘Well, this isn’t exactly a gun either. Now is it?’ I had him and he knew it. Unfortunately, he liked it a little too much by the way he released a steady manly moan. He reached for my waist and slammed me down on the pool table, his body between my legs, flush against me. My core throbbing now.
‘This isn’t a negotiation either.’ He mimicked me. ’You are not going to the meeting.’ Now his usual warmth was seeping back in. The lust for me is taking over again.
‘Or?’
‘Or you are going to regret it, Carina.’
I was really getting angry now. I put my hands on his chest and shoved him. ‘You got no right to tell me what to do.’ I reached for the pool stick again, debating whether or not I was ramming this up his ass.
Fury of a thousand storms was lighting up behind his dark eyes. I had severely pissed him off. I was not scared but weary about him now, when he was this angry he was always a little unpredictable.
’I will have Marcus on your fucking detail Lux, all day, all night if I have to!’ He was now full-on yelling. ‘Fuck! You frustrate me!’ he yelled when he saw I wasn’t answering or budging. My arms crossed, chin out. He was not getting to me. ‘Fuck!’ he yelled once more and his arms swung forward. The movement made me flinch back. Bad memories resurfaced suddenly, my instincts took over. Shock lined his face for a second. ‘You thought I was going to hit you?’ he whisper yelled. He stepped closer and grabbed my face, suddenly soft. Eyes a warm brown. ‘I would never hurt you, Carina. You know that right?’ I blinked at him, and suddenly had cotton balls in my mouth. ‘Sorry.’ I mumbled. ‘I don’t like it when you are this angry.’
He kissed me then. Full on. As if I was the air he needed to breathe. I had missed him so much. He broke it as suddenly as it had happened. ‘Shit, I can’t even think around you. Fuck.’ He stepped back and ran one last hand through his hair. ‘Just, remember what I said, Carina. Please.’ And he left the room without looking back. My lips still tingling.
