Chapter Mate (1)
I was getting tired of being summoned every three minutes by this madman. I was yet again on my way to Dornatill for another meeting with Vincent.
If only for this I would want my search for a way into Faerie to go way faster. The sooner I found my way in, the sooner whatever it was that he needed would be found and I would be done with his ass forever.
Yet it was the same old same old. Go to the meeting. Hear whatever madness he has concocted up now. Don’t piss him off again and get the hell out of there.
Andrew was walking next to me towards the restaurant. On edge. Our friendship had yet again improved over the course of February but we would never be the old us ever again. A night together had truly broken that.
‘Remember, don’t do anything that might provoke him.’ He said for the millionth time, dark suit a stark contrast to the bright sunshine that was covering the white tiles.
When I thought back on that last time, with Andrew’s gun pointed at my face and Vincent hands around my neck I shivered.
‘Don’t worry, I’ll won’t make that mistake again.’ There was no reason to be found with a crazy person anyway, no matter what I tried. So I would not provoke him tonight. Something in my demeanor hit home with Andrew because I saw it cross across his face. He was trusting me to not act up and he knew I was telling the truth right now.
