Chapter Mate (2)
I should have seen this coming. Andrew immediately saw the fear in my eyes when I spotted Dominic Rios at the table.
He in turn looked as shocked as I did as soon as he spotted me.
Before I could sit down Dosch said. ‘I was not expecting anyone else to join our family discussion today, Vincent.’
I knew they had reopened the negotiations but now they were having family discussions these days?
I was walking right into a trap, but there was no turning back now. Mourad was flanking Dosch at the booth and he gave me a stern warning with the look in his dark eyes. That this could very well turn into a bloody showdown if Vincent even flinched at me wrongly. I knew that and he knew that. Vincent couldn’t possibly suspect Dosch was my mate, now did he? Dosch had played it too clean, he had stayed away from me and he had married the others all for the sake of my safety. No, that couldn’t be it. Andrew noticed my fear but he of course couldn’t quite place why.
‘Don’t worry, I’ll protect you from Rios.’ Andrew grunted in my ear. I was too stunned to answer that it was all of the others that needed protection from Dominic if anyone in the room treated me anything else but kind tonight. They had no idea what he would do. What a mate would do.
