From Princess To Queen

Chapter 6

Alex, Rayland, and Clara

Over the next few days, Clara kept the same route going as she has for the past several years. Train with her family, then train with Dunken and Xavior. No one was the wiser except Alex; he watched how Clara fought and knew she had been sneaking out for special training. He just had to catch her in the act, but the only thing everyone who went for special training disguised themselves, including their voice and masking their scent. Alex is good, but nothing compares to Clara. She has had at least ten-plus years of training. She should be teaching the guards and warriors.

Once training was over, Alex walked over, making sure nobody was around before he started talking to her in a shallow voice, almost a whisper. He did not want other pack members to hear what he had to say to his princess.

“I know where you have been going by how you fight, princess.” He quietly whispers to her from behind.

She froze and slowly turned around, looking at him, “I am sorry, Alex, I do not understand what you are talking about. I train myself while everyone is asleep.” She smiles at him.

“Cut the crap; you are sneaking out of the castle at three am to the secluded pack and coven hidden about an hour’s walk from here. I know you are there, just by how you fight the alpha and his beta.”

“Still do not know what you’re talking about, please leave. I must shower and change to speak with Father about Felix and his pack.”

Clara walks away, miffed that someone knows what she is doing, but she cannot stop going because it would mean he was right about her fighting. But he does not know that her rightful family, his queen, and her brothers and sister are there. Nobody knows she is part of what makes her a hybrid, not even her father. He only thinks she is full Lycan like him.

Rayland finds a quiet place to call his alpha without anyone hearing him. He let Xavior know that some of the pack members have been sneaking out of the pack and going to an unknown location to get special training, and he has been going along with them.

“What do you mean special kind of training, Rayland?” Xavior asked.

“Martial arts of all kinds and Krav Maga as well weaponry. I do not know if this is Felix’s idea or theirs, but I have to ask them discreetly and will let you know. But now I have to go. People are coming.” Ending the call abruptly.

He puts his phone in his pocket and removes his clothes so he does not rip them. He lets his wolf come forth, has light brown with yellow eyes, takes off running through the woods, and hunts a deer to feed the pack. He howls to let his pack know that he has killed some animals to be brought in to be slaughtered for food. They would feed on the wild animals and buy beef and pork from local farmers to sustain themselves in-between hunting. He quickly turned back, dressed, and helped bring back the food for the pack, where some men dressed the deer and other animals.

Rayland left early in the morning for training to meet with Alex and discuss the packs. Rayland already knew how to use the Krav Maga and other martial arts as he was very high ranking like Xavior and other pack members.

Clara was always up front near the center, near her brothers and sister, who did not mask their scents nor cover up so that they could help their eldest brother teach others. They continued to watch where some of the women would be standing, which was pretty easy since more men than women were in the group. Alex's mind linked to Rayland, telling him that the princess was also here fighting, but he did not know where she was since everyone had been covered up from head to toe to conceal their identities and mask their scents.

Rayland linked Alex asking where he was, and they both did a high jump so that they would know where each other was and kept doing subtle movements to keep tabs on each other. They watched a particular woman who seemed to be the center of every meeting. They eased their way towards her to spar with her to see if she could be their princess. When practice was over, Rayland had to leave for Felix’s pack along with a few of their warriors. But he kept tabs on his future Queen when he was there training.

When they watched how the she-wolf moved, Alex knew it was their future queen and soon kept on her like flies on stink. They spared with her every day. When they were in specialized training, Alex kept an eye on her. When they were back at the pack, Alex watched her and knew he and Rayland were not wrong. They were watching their princess kick everyone’s ass that showed up.

The next few weeks, they kept an eye on her at the special training watching her every move, and now they knew who she was. They did not know why she was there when she was always in the pack training with Alpha Xavior and Dunken. Rayland stayed at Felix’s pack so there would be no suspicions about him and his pack. But he was relieved knowing they would be safe and could soon take down Felix with their queen, reigning all the kingdoms.

“Alpha Xavior, may I talk to you and Dunken privately, please?” Alex asked both Xavior and Dunken.

“Sure, Alex; what’s on your mind?”

“I know where Clara has been going. She goes to specialized training in a secluded pack protected by witches and other people in the pack. It’s about an hour’s walk from here, and her eldest brother is the main instructor, and her two other siblings also help with the instructions. Her mother, the Queen, is also there, watching and organizing everything happening.”

“Very interesting; I wonder if her father, the King, knows of extra training? So, why is the actual queen not here in the castle? This makes no sense whatsoever?”

“No, he refuses to let her train or even tell her about her family; I do not know if she knows those people are her family. He forced his wife to leave with his eldest son, but he met her occasionally in the forest, hence the two younger siblings.”

“Who else knows about this? Why did he for his queen to leave and take their son?”

“Speculation has it that Felix and his mother have visited quite often since Felix was little. She forced her way into the king, and he told his wife to leave and never return. But we do not know the full truth. Rayland knows, as he has been sneaking out along with his mate. This is the only way they can see each other briefly. Then they go their separate ways back to their packs as if nothing has happened, masking their scents which mask their mate's scents too.”

“For now, we keep this between just the three of us and do not let this out to ANYONE in this pack or else, got it?” Xavior gave an order to both Dunken and Alex.

“Yes, alpha, I understand. Oh, we start at 4 am sharp if you want to join us tomorrow morning, you have to cover yourself head to toe and mask your scent coming and going. Can’t have anybody knowing who we are or what pack we belong to, plus disguise your voice or do not talk.”

“Count me in; stop by my room at 2:45 am to get ready and head out together. Dunken, you stay behind and watch what happens here in the castle and the pack grounds.”

Xavior and Alex met up walking out of the castle did not mask their scents or cover-up since they were going to run in their wolf forms. Once they got about fifteen minutes outside the area, they masked their scents and covered themselves up, but they could feel a presence passing them. They knew who that was, and it was their princess, but they did not say anything, just nodding to each other.

“Crap, what are Alex and Xavior here?” Clara thought to herself.

She moved off to the side and took off her cloak, ensuring they could not see her as she entered the secluded pack. She moved to her usual place, mind-linking her mom and siblings that she was there and ready to go. She also warned them that two people from her pack were there as she saw them leaving and entering the arena. She pointed them out so she would not have to be near or spar with them. Her siblings would keep them away from her while she was there training.

Information

“I have to keep my walls up so that Alex does not try to contact me via link. Also, Xavior is alpha, visiting our lands for a while, but I think he is my mate. Don’t try to contact me during the training, please, guys?” she tells her family. They all looked at each other and nodded, letting Clara know they had received her message.

“Guys, a delta from Alfa Felix’s pack next to me. Find out what they are doing here and why.”

“Yes, sister, we see them. Do not stay to talk with us today. Leave quickly after training, and we will distract them from giving you at least a twenty-minute lead home.”

“Thanks, guys, it’s much appreciated; as you know, Father would have a fit if he knew I was here and knew about you all and Mom.”

“Yeah, we know she told us about him and how he is. I refuse to be the next in line as King of Lycans and all supernaturals.” Jace tells her but will not elaborate on what has happened and why he refused to be the next in line.

The training continues until it is finished, and Alex and Rayland get ready to leave as they pack their bags but notice that their princess does not pack hers. They continued talking through mind links but did not realize that Clara and her siblings could hear them.

“We have to tell King Lyon about Clara coming here to train against his will,” Alex tells Xavior.

“No, it is not our place to speak to him about his daughter's secrets. Her responsibility is to tell him, so we watch and protect her when she comes and goes. Xavior responds.

Jace approaches the guys and starts distracting them by asking them questions so that his sister can sneak out of the arena to head home. When Clara sees this, she takes off, runs halfway home, and stops looking behind her. Nobody is following her right now, and she continues running home, and when she gets to the fence, she enters it and closes it up again. She did not count on the patrols to be passing by, so she hid until they passed her, and she stripped her cloak and gear and unmasked her scent, placing the items back into her bag. She took off once again, heading inside her suite and showering.

“How do you two like the training program set up?” Jace asks the men.

“It’s perfect, works the entire body, and gives us an edge that no other packs have against each other,” Alex says.

“I love it. I want to teach it to my pack, but that would give Alpha an upper hand which he already has against all the other packs,” Rayland replies.

“Which is what, Rayland?” Jace asked. Xavior and Alex both know what he is saying.

“He’s ruthless and uses arrows laced with poisons that instantly kill wolves. He also uses wolfsbane to severely wound ones he wants to keep alive and recruit to his pack to turn them against other packs. Silver knives laced with both poisons and wolfsbane. What I just told you, nobody knows how he kills. But he attacks by waiting in the woods and does a surprise attack the night while everyone is asleep. This is how he can kill the other packs.” Rayland told Jace and Alex.

“Been nice chatting with you all, but I have to get back to my pack before I am a dead wolf,” Rayland advises them and takes off into the woods running like his life depends on it.

“I think you need to tell the king what he just said. That is some wealth of information that can be of great use. I will let my mother know so she can tell our Alpha and the others how Alpha Felix kills and fights. I know he has been here as I felt his presence, but with our fighting skills, it will be nothing against his weapons. That is of great concern, and everyone else needs to know this; time is of the essence.” Jace lets both Alex and Xavior know what he is planning on doing.

“Thanks, brother; I will inform our king about the presented information. I will see you later.”

Alex and Xavior ran in their wolf forms to the kingdom as fast as they could but stopped before they got onto the territory. Changing back to their human forms and unmasking their scents, they entered, walking briskly towards the castle. They could smell breakfast when they entered and raced to their suites to shower and change.

She quickly went to her room without being seen, went to the bathroom, turned on the shower, and stripped down to nothing. She got in the shower and let the hot water run over tight muscles relaxing them. She washed her hair and body, rinsed and went out, and dried off quickly. She put her clothes on and headed out and ran into Alex, Dunken, and Xavior, leaving their suites as well, all heading down to the dining room to eat breakfast.

“Clara, Xavior, and Dunken, I need you all in my office ASAP!” King Lyon expressed in a hurried voice.

They rolled their eyes as he bellowed out his command. They knew something was up with how he had spoken. They all hurried, finished their breakfast, and headed to the king's office.

“We are here, King Lyon,” they say in unison.

“Please come in and have a seat around the table. I have been informed of some interesting news about Alpha Felix and how he has been attacking other packs, killing them, and recruiting them for his pack to make it stronger. With that said, Alex, I will give you the floor to tell everyone what you have learned about his antics and how he works.” Xavior turned to look at Alex like he had two heads as the king made this statement.

“Listen carefully; Felix does not deserve to be called alpha; he is a tyrant who kills packs, forces them into his pack, and makes them members. He will kill them slowly with poison and wolfsbane on knives if they refuse. He uses this method with knives laced with wolfsbane and other poisons and arrows doused with poison that kills wolves. He and his pack hide in the woods at night until all the members are asleep, and not as many guards are making rounds. He likes the element of surprise to attack others which leaves them clueless and unarmed. He can change his tactics at any given moment, so we need to be careful who knows this information, as we could have plants from him here in the castle that reports back to him.”

“So now we have some intelligence, but how did you acquire this information, Alex?” Clara asked, knowing exactly how he came about it.

“Remember, we have an eye on the inside of Felix’s pack, and this Intel cannot be disclosed how I came about it.” He retorts back to Clara.

“Xavior, why did you not know this information, or did you and failed to inform us?” King Matthew quizzically asked with a harsh tone.

“No sir, I did not know this information, but I will get ahold of Rayland and see why he did not come to me first about this.” He lied through his teeth, knowing he already knew, but the information was just given to them this morning at training off-site.

“I will be waiting for a report from you about this; please make it fast, son.” the king tells him.
