From Princess To Queen

Chapter 5

Alpha and Beta Training

Clara stepped up with Dunken first to spar so Xavior could see how well she performed and if she had a weak spot. She told them both not to hold back, and they promised they would not do that.

“Dunken, start with fists first. I want to see how she does with boxing, then slowly start adding the kicks. I want to see what the weaknesses are when sparing with you.”

“You got it, the boss; I will not hold anything back against her.”

“Clara, Dunken is going spar with you first, and I will observe you for weaknesses you have, then step in to help you improve on those weaknesses.”

She smirked at him, thinking, “Only if you knew how well I can fight.”

“Ok, Dunken, let’s get started. Are you ready to knock on your ass?”

Dunken mind linked Xavior, “She thinks she is all that, and then some, doesn’t she?”

“Yeah, she does, and that is a mistake in my book Dunken. You know how hard I am on the pack when they train.”

Dunken entered the matt taking his fighting stance, watching her stand there looking bored to death. He was curious why she got into her stance and cocked a brow at her. Clara stayed focused on his eyes. When he throws the first left hook, she immediately blocks him and throws an upper cut to his jaw, knocking him backward. He regains his balance shaking his head, then comes back at her with everything he had. She never stopped looking at his eyes, blocking and giving just as hard a faltering while she straddled him when he was down, giving him one last punch to the jaw.

“Enough, Clara. I don’t need my beta put in the hospital.”

“Your beta has faults throughout his punches and kicks, and one thing he lacks, which is a huge mistake, is not keeping his eyes on his opponent. Get in. Let me see what you got.” She lays into Xavior.

“Ok, let’s get started, and trust me, I never hold back. You will only tap out when I get you on the ground, right?”

“Bring it, alpha; let me see what you have.”

Xavior did not wait for a stance or to study her moves, nor did he wait to see who would make the first move. He went in full blast with a roundhouse high kick, and as she ducked, she knocked him on his ass and put him in a full-on headlock with his legs and arms held together like an accordion.

“Shit, Dunken, what the hell is she?” his mind links his beta.

“I don’t know, but you are expected to tap out on this one. I do not see any flaws here. She has to be training someplace because what I see, no one else has this kind of talent or skills. Wonder what else she has skill in?”

He had to tap out and submit to Clara. There was no other choice as he was losing his breath. She let him go and helped him up. By now, everyone was standing in a circle watching what had happened, all with gapping mouths as their princess took down an Alpha with no problem. She looked at him and patted his chest with a smirk.

“So alpha tells me what my weaknesses are,” she said with a cheeky grin and tone.

“None, absolutely none,” he replied, coughing, catching his breath.

“We are, um, done for the day.”

She picked up her bag starting to walk into the castle, and once she entered through the doors, she headed towards her room to shower. Xavior caught up with her walking her to the room. He had to know who trained her or was training her as he admired the fighting skills that she demonstrated.

“Clara, where did you learn how to fight like that? Who has been teaching you? I want to talk to them.”

She thought for a moment before she told him. “I am self-taught since father won’t let me fight or teach me. I have had to fend for myself and read books, watched tv shows and videos, and you know the rest.”

“Huh, that is very interesting. That is the only way you have learned,” Xavior stated, scratching his chin.

“Thanks for walking with me, but I must part since I smell like a wolf who’s been fighting.”

He laughed at her statement and went to his quarters only next to hers. Neither one knew how close their chambers were. She grinned as she secretly watched him walk to his room, thinking how delectable he looked bare-chested. During the sparing, he had taken his shirt off and now was covered with dirt and grass all over him.

He looked back at her quizzically, thinking there was something she was not telling him. He thinks she is taking off somewhere to train fully because nobody has ever put him in an accordion headlock like her, and he knew she would not let go until he submitted or passed out. Either way, he had to get to the bottom of this and know what other skills this woman had.

He and Dunken finished with their showers and headed to the kitchen where breakfast was being served; after they ate breakfast, he spoke with King Lyon about training with his daughter and advising him about what he had witnessed and also gone through.

“My king, I would like to speak with you about Princess Clara if you don’t mind?”

“Sure, my son, come in and have a seat. Please tell me what you have learned by training her today. I can assume she is not at all prepared for any fighting, which is more proof that I need her to stay in here and not go out there fighting?”

“Sir, with all due respect here, your daughter kicked our asses. She handed mine in one sweep blow and put me in an accordion headlock.”

The king took a sip of his coffee and nearly spewed it everywhere. He was in shock when he heard this about his daughter. He did not know she knew that move, and few knew how to do it properly. He called upon one of his trainers to come into his office immediately; he had to learn firsthand from one of his elite trainers.

“Yes, my king, what are you inquiring about?” Alex Turner had asked. He is the top elite warrior and trainer for the pack and guards.

“Alex, have you seen Clara when she is training? How does she compare to others?”

“King Lyon, as you requested, nobody can go full force on her, so we only do minimal fighting tactics. We feel that she only needs to know how to defend herself if we have a breach in the castle. That way, she can fight her way to safety.”

“I see. Did you see her training with Beta Dunken and Alpha Xavior today?”

“No sir, I was busy training the teens today, away from them.”

“Thanks, Alex; you may return to what you were doing. Have a good rest of the day.”

“Yes sir, same to you. Alpha, Dunken.”

Alex left to return to his family, knowing that he had been sneaking out just like Clara to her mother’s pack and coven, and he was teaching the young pups and teens how to fight like him and Clara. He would never tell the king this as he would have him banned from the pack. Alex also knows how Clara fights as she goes to the same place he does at the same time. They never cross paths.
