Chapter 7
Information
“I have to keep my walls up so that Alex does not try to contact me via link. Also, Xavior is an alpha too, visiting our lands for a while, but I think he is my mate. Don’t try to contact me during the training please, guys?” she tells her family. They all looked at each other and nodded, letting Clara know they had received her message.
“Guys, a delta from Alfa Felix’s pack next to me. Find out what they are doing here and why.”
“Yes, sister, we see them. Do not stay to talk with us today. Leave quickly after training, and we will distract them from giving you at least a twenty-minute lead home.”
“Thanks, guys, it’s much appreciated. Father would have a fit if he knew I was here and knew about you all and Mom.”
“Yeah, we know she told us about him and how he is. I refuse to be the next in line as King of Lycans and all supernaturals.” Jace tells her but will not elaborate on what has happened and why he refused to be the next in line.
The training continues until it is finished, and Alex and Rayland get ready to leave as they pack their bags but notice that their princess does not pack hers. They continued talking through mind links but did not realize that Clara and her siblings could hear them.
“We have to tell King Lyon about Clara coming here to train against his will,” Alex tells Xavior.
“No, it is not our place to speak to him about his daughter's secrets. Her responsibility is to tell him, so we watch and protect her when she comes and goes. Xavior responds.
Jace approaches the guys and starts distracting them by asking them questions so that his sister can sneak out of the arena to head home. When Clara sees this, she takes off, runs halfway home, and stops looking behind her. Nobody is following her right now, and she continues running home, and when she gets to the fence, she enters it and closes it up again. She did not count on the patrols to be passing by, so she hid until they passed her, and she stripped her cloak and gear and unmasked her scent, placing the items back into her bag. She took off once again, heading inside her suite and showering.
“How do you two like the training program set up?” Jace asks the men.
“It’s perfect, works the entire body, and gives us an edge that no other packs have against each other,” Alex says.
“I love it. I want to teach it to my pack, but that would give Alpha an upper hand which he already has against all the other packs,” Rayland replies.
“Which is what, Rayland?” Jace asked. Xavior and Alex both know what he is saying.
“He’s ruthless and uses arrows laced with poisons that instantly kill wolves. He also uses wolfsbane to severely wound ones he wants to keep alive and recruit to his pack to turn them against other packs. Silver knives laced with both poisons and wolfsbane. What I just told you, nobody knows how he kills. But he attacks by waiting in the woods and does a surprise attack the night while everyone is asleep. This is how he can kill the other packs.” Rayland told Jace and Alex.
“Been nice chatting with you all, but I have to get back to my pack before I am a dead wolf,” Rayland advises them and takes off into the woods running like his life depends on it.
“I think you need to tell the king what he just said. That is some wealth of information that can be of great use. I will let my mother know so she can tell our Alpha and the others how Alpha Felix kills and fights. I know he has been here as I felt his presence, but with our fighting skills, it will be nothing against his weapons. That is of great concern, and everyone else needs to know this; time is of the essence.” Jace lets both Alex and Xavior know what he is planning on doing.
“Thanks, brother; I will inform our king about the presented information. I will see you later.”
Alex and Xavior ran in their wolf forms to the kingdom as fast as they could but stopped before they got onto the territory. Changing back to their human forms and unmasking their scents, they entered, walking briskly towards the castle. They could smell breakfast when they entered and raced to their suites to shower and change.
She quickly went to her room without being seen, went to the bathroom, turned on the shower, and stripped down to nothing. She got in the shower and let the hot water run over tight muscles relaxing them. She washed her hair and body, rinsed and went out, and dried off quickly. She put her clothes on and headed out and ran into Alex, Dunken, and Xavior, leaving their suites as well, all heading down to the dining room to eat breakfast.
“Clara, Xavior, and Dunken, I need you all in my office ASAP!” King Lyon expressed in a hurried voice.
They rolled their eyes as he bellowed out his command. They knew something was up with how he had spoken. They all hurried, finished their breakfast, and headed to the king's office.
“We are here, King Lyon,” they say in unison.
“Please come in and have a seat around the table. I have been informed of some interesting news about Alpha Felix and how he has been attacking other packs, killing them, and recruiting them for his pack to make it stronger. With that said, Alex, I will give you the floor to tell everyone what you have learned about his antics and how he works.” Xavior turned to look at Alex like he had two heads as the king made this statement.
“Listen carefully; Felix does not deserve to be called alpha; he is a tyrant who kills packs, forces them into his pack, and makes them members. He will kill them slowly with poison and wolfsbane on knives if they refuse. He uses this method with knives laced with wolfsbane and other poisons and arrows doused with poison that kills wolves. He and his pack hide in the woods at night until all the members are asleep, and not as many guards are making rounds. He likes the element of surprise to attack others which leaves them clueless and unarmed. He can change his tactics at any given moment, so we need to be careful who knows this information, as we could have plants from him here in the castle that reports back to him.”
“So now we have some intelligence, but how did you acquire this information, Alex?” Clara asked, knowing exactly how he came about it.
“Remember, we have an eye on the inside of Felix’s pack, and this Intel cannot be disclosed how I came about it.” He retorts back to Clara.
“Xavior, why did you not know this information, or did you and failed to inform us?” King Matthew quizzically asked with a harsh tone.
“No sir, I did not know this information, but I will get ahold of Rayland and see why he did not come to me first about this.” He lied through his teeth, knowing he already knew, but the information was just given to them this morning at training off-site.
“I will be waiting for a report from you about this; please make it fast, son.” the king tells him.
