“Dad, why will you not tell me about my family if I have any? I want to know where I stand with you and this pack. You barely let me train but only with Alpha Xavior and Dunken.” Clara spoke with a demanding voice.
“Clara, I do not want to talk about this, and you know it. So it would be best if you quit asking me the same thing repeatedly. It is getting on my nerves; I have more important issues to handle than a whinny child wanting to know about her stupid family. Now enough is enough! If you keep this up, you little piece of shit, you will NEVER become queen! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!”
“NO, DAD! I want answers NOW! I may be shit, but I will be a queen you will NEVER take away from me. You are such an arrogant piece of shit, father. I deserve to know what has happened and why you are acting like this cause I know it is not my fault you miss behave and are just as rotten to the core as Alpha Felix is.”
She did not leave room for Matthew to answer as she rushed out the door slamming it in his face. She left the castle, racing to the forest towards the lake. She had to escape from him, the castle, and everyone else. She knows he has been messing around with her mother and feels he has children with someone else. She wants him to confess, she thrives on being close with her father, but he refuses to talk to her; she feels that she is a waste of time. She is used to this since it’s how he has been since she was little.
King Matthew stood there looking at his daughter, wondering where she suddenly got her voice. He hated anyone going up against him, especially her. He did not want her to be queen but had no choice but to keep her because his eldest son renounced his throne and left when he threw his wife out of the palace, her rightful home.
She approached the lake and sat down; finding rocks, she started throwing them as hard as possible. Steven and Scott walk up to her and sit down on either side of her. They never said anything and just let her stew for a few moments. They were off duty but never let their niece out of sight. Her family is very close to her and has been through her entire life before she found out who they were.
“What did the lake do to you to beat the crap out of you with stones?” Scott asked.
“I called Dad an arrogant piece of shit because he refuses to tell me anything. It has been like this my entire life. He doesn’t know that my family still lives here, and my training takes place with mom and siblings in her pack. Oh, and let’s not forget that I am a witch too. I have no problems, but damn it, Matthew could have sat me down and told me all this.”
“Yeah, he is not doing right by you or this pack. Something is going on with him, and it has been for a very long time. That is what you need to figure out.” Steven said.
“I know now my training will include magic, and Mom is going to teach me after training, so it’s going to be tricky getting back here before I train with Xavior and Dunken.” All of a sudden, her eyes went wide as saucers. “YOU DID NOT JUST HEAR ME SAY THAT, AND DO NOT REPEAT IT!”
“We will keep it a secret for now.”
“Good because nobody knows I go there and know about them.”
“Alex knows, and so do Rayland and Dunken, and we are quite sure Xavior does, too,” Scott stated with a smile.
She got up and started heading back to her home but ran into some rogues surrounding their pack. Clara froze, immediately masked her scent, and ran up a tree. Her uncles did the same thing, but Steven was too late, and he was noticed when one of the rogues started walking towards him. Steven decapitated him quickly, throwing his head towards the other. They turned to see Steven running away, trying to get them away from their pack.
Steven masked his scent and climbed the trees, returning to where they were. The rogues fought about who would take the lead while the others stopped looking for Scott and Clara. They mumbled amongst themselves and started walking away from their so-called head guys. Steven, Scott, and Clara took off after those walking away and killing them.
They could hear the two rogues still chatting away and stopped just short of them to hear what they were talking about. They did not like what they were hearing and decided to capture both of them and take them to the cells. That way, Dunken, Xavior, and Clara can interrogate them as they know their king will never do the interrogations himself as he does not care about his daughter.
“I smell her; her scent stops here, along with two others. Go after him and kill him. Everyone else looks in the trees and around them.” The boss man says.
“Why are you taking the boss role? I was next in line.”
“I am boss now since the king's warriors killed the other.”
“Where are the others? They should have been back by now with the princess. We need her and hold her for ransom.”
“Seriously? NOOOO, that is not what he wants her, you dingbat. He wants her for his mate and will stop to get her.”
“Why is she some kind of supernatural being or something?”
“Just shut up, you’re acting like those damn hyenas off ‘Lion King’ ugh.”
Steven, Scott, and Clara let them bicker for a few more minutes as they tried to hold their laughs. The three of them snuck up behind the two of them, grabbing them by tying their hands behind their backs. They did not intend to get caught and put into the king's prison cells. As they walked out of the woods, everyone who was training stopped and looked to see what was happening. Alex approached them and looked pissed when he saw the rogues.
“What the fucking hell is this? Princess, why were you out in the woods alone?” Alex asked, looking confused.
“I went to the lake, and these two followed me there, knowing I was upset with Dad, and we came upon these two and their twats trying to get closer to our pack. They want to kidnap a ‘she’ and hold her for ransom, and the other wants to take her back so she can be the alpha’s mate. Whoever that is. Oh, and Steven kills the others single-handedly.”
“We are taking them to the cells; we will have Xavior, Dunken, and Clara interrogate them, then dispose of them, well maybe.” Scott grinned.
They put them in the cells, and all three headed to their quarters to get cleaned up when they all got a mind link from the king wanting them in his office. They rolled their eyes, and Clara flipped him off as she did not want to see or talk to her father. He never does anything as it is.
“Clara, you’re needed in the king's office ASAP, per his request. He is not happy either, princess.” One of her guards told her.
“He can wait on me. When I am done, I will be there. He does not want to give me the time or day, so he can wait till I get there.” she retorts to her guards.
Clara finished and went to her father’s office, thinking the others were already there, but she was the first to arrive and stood outside his office as she heard voices. One voice was an unknown female, and she did not smell good at all. She stood outside and eavesdropped on the conversation.
“But Matt....”
“No butts, get out of here and never return to my territory. Understand that I will come to you if and when I want you. I do not want or need any of my people to see you here. Now leave!”
Clara decided to walk in at that point to see who she was and took a mental picture, and sent it to her family, secretly telling them what was said and what she looked like. The others started to come to the office but heard a commotion and decided to eavesdrop in case they were needed, which was a big chance they would be throwing someone out on their asses shortly.
“Excuse me, but what the HELL is a rogue doing on my pack lands?” she asks disgustingly.
“Oh, I am. I am just leaving. Goodbye, Matt.”
“You have no right to call my father, your KING, by his first name. Again, what are you doing here?”
“Umm. I am just leaving. Bye.”
“Not unless I have you put in the dungeons, rogue.”
“Clara, let her go.” her father states in a tone like no other.
“FINE! Get out or else slut.”
“CLARA, enough!”
“No, it’s not, Father; it’s no longer enough. Listen to me and listen, good daddy dearest; I will not put up with all this shit you are doing. You are working with her on something that will hurt this and all packs, so spill what?”
“It’s none of your business.”
“It is my business. I am the next to take over the thrown, and I will not have you going around and ruining us or our kingdom. So tell me who my family is for the last time, or I am going out to find them.”
“I do not have to discuss anything about your mother, only this pack.”
“Why do you hate them and me?”
With that said, it was quiet. You could hear a pin drop, but she turned to the other female, thinking that something was familiar about her. She mind-linked Alex and her uncles, letting them know that she wants this woman in the cells next to the other two rogues and cameras along with audio left on them. She wanted to know a few things.
The woman left the office and was immediately accosted and taken to the cells; they silenced her voice so the king could not hear her scream. When they approached the cells, they removed the cloth that kept her from screaming. When she locked eyes with the two rogues in cells, she started to growl, and so did they.
“Well, happy family reunion, it looks like. You three must know each other. Oh, this is going to be good.” Scott said.
The guys stood there waiting to hear what they had to say, and holy cow did they have much to say? They were amazed at what was being said.
“You idiots were supposed to capture the princess, but you are locked up instead. Where are the others?” Rogue female seethed.
“He killed the others (Steven was laughing and waving his hand), and they snuck up on us and bound us, bringing us here.” The self-claimed leader stated.
“She is my son’s mate; he has been here watching her all his life, playing with him when they were little. She needs to be gone so I can be queen. Now we have to come up with a different plan.” She stated that she was slammed into a cell.
The men left to talk to the king, but Alex told them to tell the king and Clara. They headed back to the room, and the king ripped them all a new one because there were rogues on pack lands, and he did not know why. Steven and Scott told the king what happened but kept quiet about the cells. When they were done, they all got up and walked out.
