From Princess To Queen

Chapter 12

The Kings Mistress

When she was being interrogated, the guys were giving her lashes across her back and cutting her with knives laced with wolfsbane. No matter how badly she was cut or whipped, she refused to give information to Xavior or Dunken. The two nitwits watched her as she was beaten and cut and decided they did not want to go through that; they gave up all the information asked from the rogue female. The woman was let go but escorted out of the pack and was told never to return. She walked away with her head held high and slowly got up and strolled down the road in pain.

She could not shift because she was beaten and cut when interrogated, and her only option was to walk back to her house. She was pissed because she was put in the cells and beaten for information, and she knew it was Clara’s idea, not Matthews's. The king had no idea he dug his grave and possibly Clara’s. She is a powerful witch who can shapeshift and look like other people. She would set them up for disaster, and none of them won’t know what hit them until it was too late. Nobody said no to her, nor did they deny her; she was the boss and ruled her small pack, but if they kept getting killed, she wouldn’t have anything left but her and her husband. Matthew will not decide to see me when he wants and will come to me when he needs his release. Nope, that will not do; we are in this together and do not care if he is the king. I will ruin him yet, wait and see.

“Where have you been, Libby? You cannot leave camp, and you know it; why did you do that?” Mason questioned her with a stern voice.

“Mason darling, it is none of your business until I make it yours. Understood?” she said in a sickly sweet voice.

“What do you not understand about NOT leaving our camp? It is perilous, and if you were to get caught by Alpha Felix or even one of the king's warriors, you would be toast.” Mason replies with a wrinkled nose. He could not figure out what that stench was on her until it dawned on him she had been in a prison cell, not just any prison, but the king. He noticed some of her clothing was torn on her body and sleeves. Now he knows where she has been going but does not know why she was in the cells.

“Do not worry about me, Mason; I know how to handle myself. I do. I promise I won’t get hurt or taken anytime soon, darling. Now be a good husband and fetch me some water, please.” she says sweetly, batting her eyes.

Mason does what he is told; he still does not know why he is with her. They are not true mates, nor have they mated, as he won’t even touch her since she is the whore of the camp and sleeps with the king. Mason knows she is up to no good but cannot prove it without some help. He needs to get on the king's good side, but he cannot stand him since. The king is sleeping around on his wife, and he banishes his own family from the castle and demands that he keeps his daughter, Clara.

He returns the water to Libby, sets it down on her desk, and walks out of her office. He stopped outside and leaned against the wall, wondering what to do. He had to find a way to spy, get information against her and get the king's daughter without being noticed by Libby or the others. If he ever got caught, he would be murdered and left to rot out in the open.

“Ah, my darling son, how is your spree going?” She asks a peculiar person on the phone. The male's voice was on speaker, just loud enough for him to hear the conversation.

“What do you want? I kicked you out of the pack and did not want anything to do with you. You cheated on Dad, and I then killed him. Or did you have him killed, Mother?” he is seething.

“My darling, don’t we have an attitude, you ungrateful piece of shit for a son.”

“Goodbye, Mother, and do not bother to call me ever again,” he tells her with distaste.

‘Oh, son, you have no idea the mistake you made against me and my pack. We will take you down with the king and rule all the lands. Just like you want, but it will never be,’ Libby thinks aloud, which is what Mason needs, and he records the entire conversation the best he can.

Mason left quietly and went to his room to find Clara’s phone number. He got the number from her brother, AJ, who works with him and his pack against his pack and Felix. He needs to get more packs on his side as an ally to go up against them. He only did not know who he could trust in his group. Some of his surviving pack members have started working with Libby and Felix.

Mason went for a run, he had to let his wolf out, and they ran the woods around their camp but did meander out a little farther than he was supposed to. By doing this, he hoped he would run into the princess and share what he had just learned with her.

“Stop! Who are you, and why are you running in my territory? You rogue have no right to be here. Now leave, or I will take you into our prison cells.” Clara sneers at Mason.

“Excuse me, princess, but I have some important information, and since you are the one I seek out, I must show you this. Please let me show you what will only hurt your father shortly.” Mason pleaded.

“Fine, show me what you have then. You look familiar. Do I know you? Maybe from another pack?”

“I was forced into being a rogue after Felix attacked my pack, and this concerns him and a certain female that is also a rogue.”

“Here, listen to what I have just learned.”

He played the recording back to her, and to her dismay, she could not believe the voice she heard, actually the voices. She knew that voice, she was here at the castle earlier today, and the males voice she heard a few days ago when training with some of her members.

“I know that woman’s voice; she was at the castle today with my father. I do not know why she was there. Maybe you could enlighten me, please. And who is the other voice? He sounds familiar.”

“She is Libby Carson, Felix’s mother, and is just as ruthless if not worse than he is. She cheated on her husband, his father, Felix, either killed him or had him killed not exactly sure yet, but she is a very dangerous princess, very, very dangerous. Felix is the alpha of his pack; that’s who she was talking to.”

“Please send that to me now so that I may have it for proof, then delete my number so that no one knows what you have done, and if you, Mason, feel like you’re in danger at any time, come to the castle and ask for me. Have the guards put you in our holding cells until I come for you. Understand me, Mason?”

He shook his head, did as he was told, then took off. He ran his wolf back to his pack or camp and changed, then went to take a shower to settle in for the night. He went to his room but heard some more noises from the office. He got out his phone and recorded the actions going on. To his disgust, it was not Libby having heated sex with the king, Clara’s father. He immediately sent that to Clara to tell her where her father was and what he was doing.

She looked at her phone and gasped out loud, watching and listening to what was happening. Keelie, her cousin, Uncles Scott, and Steven looked at what she was looking at. He was astounded and disgusted at the same time that their king was having extramarital affairs with a rogue trying to take him out and would do so if he did not change his ways. They heard about the rumors but just found out they were faithful now. They all were green while watching the video; it was a sight that you could never unsee.

“Dunken, where’s Xavior? I need to see him in my room, and it’s the only very soundproof room.”

“He’s in the study; what is so important, Clara?”

“Just get him there now and hurry.”

Dunken commissioned his alpha to Clara’s room ASAP, and he ran to her, thinking that something had happened to his mate. When he arrives, she sits at her desk, hooking up her phone to her computer and setting up the recordings/video of Libby and the king and their affairs.

“Clara, what is wrong? Did something happen to you? Please show me.” he begs as he touches her, ensuring she is ok.

“Nothing to me, but you both must see and hear this. Father is working with a rogue.”

“WHAT!” Dunken and Xavior say in unison.

“How, where did you get this information?”

“Funny you asked; I saw her in dads office and knew something was off, so I decided to cloak and mask my scent to follow her but ran into this guy Mason. He hates her and was forced to become rogue along with those who survived in his pack after her son wiped attacked his pack. I told him he could come here and ask for me and be held in the holding cells only until I came and got him. He can be an ally with us. He also told me he is working with someone very close to me. Sorry, I cannot tell you who that is just yet.”

“Shit, Clara, this...this could get your father killed or you,” Dunken asked.

“I know, and I have to do that, so I was told. This is just between us, and I mean that.”

“Oh, no doubt, but who else did you tell? One of my guards, which I trust with my entire life.”

Clara did not tell them she had sent the information to her brother, and they did not need to know. They needed more information and couldn’t risk sending anyone from the king's court or Clara into the line of fire. She felt a little uneasy when both Dunken and Xavior were in her room when she was telling them the information she found out. Her instinct was kicking in.
