From Here to Ecstasy

Chapter 90 - Surprise Spoiled

Recap

“Go to sleep and I will play the information over and over. You will pick up a lot more this way,” my wolf advised me. I knew it was a great way to learn. I had to learn different languages when my dad taught me about me being an Alpha. I wondered if my grandma had told him I would need it.

Probably.

She was ready for anything.

Sonny’s POV

I fell asleep quickly. I was dreaming about being at the castle. I was dreaming of people I didn’t know. I didn't know if I was dreaming or having a vision. It didn't feel as if I were having a vision. But, this dream felt so real I didn't know. Whatever it was I needed to pay attention to the people around me and remember this shit so it doesn't affect me later. And, I was damned glad I wasn't shaking all over the floor. That shit got old.

Real old.

The scene changed and I was dreaming about my mate.

My beautiful mate.

She took my breath away, seizing my lungs, and making my heart beat wildly. She had beautiful honey hair, the tips dyed purple. She was tall for a woman and I could tell she was fit, but not as fit as she should be. She was skinny as if she had been missing meals. I couldn't have her starving herself. I wasn’t sure if this woman was my mate but I would find out when I awoke. I didn’t think I would have seen her and felt as I did if she wasn’t my mate. All I could think about was marking her and claiming her as my own. I had never looked at another female, well, I had friends who were female but I didn’t pay attention to them as I did this female.

My wolf woke me up at three in the morning. He decided he needed to howl as loud as he could. He startled me, causing me to jump out of bed and look around for danger as he snickered.

Stupid Royal Alpha wolf.

I heard that,” my wolf dryly said as he laid down and covered his snout with his tail.

I meant for you to hear me,” I sarcastically sang in my mind as I got up and headed to my bathroom.

You might want to pack the rest of your stuff and get to the dining room. Our mom wants to surprise us,” my wolf informed me sassily, causing me to roll my eyes and not answer him back.

Surprise spoiled.

Check.

It was like arguing with myself and it felt uncomfortable at times. Having a wolf was great until you heard your wolf's voice. I swear mine loved to argue with me or kick me in my ass constantly.

Or his ass.

I grabbed all my stuff out of my bathroom and packed it into the suitcase I had bought. I went back and got my clothes out of the closet and my dresser drawers my grandma had gotten for me. I left out a nice suit and tie, making sure I grabbed the dress shoes on the floor. I wanted to look nice when I presented myself to the court.

I grabbed another bag and packed my shoes and belts. I made sure there was nothing else I would need. I opened my safe and pulled out some money. I made sure to grab my birth certificate and passport. I never knew if I would be pulled into something I would need my passport for. I couldn't teleport everywhere, well, I guess I could. I would play it by ear. I wasn't sure I wanted to fly if I had enemies. I don't want to go kaboom. And, I'm sure someone would try.

After I packed everything up, I got dressed and styled my hair. I wanted to look nice and see how I was treated. I knew I could subdue my power, well, all of us could. It was always nice to be able to pull our power out when we wanted to shock someone. It was damned entertaining to watch someone’s face as we did. I was always jealous of my brothers and sisters who would subdue their power. I couldn’t understand until now how much I would enjoy watching those around me almost fall over. I knew I wasn’t going to be doing it for kicks. I was a little more mature than that.

Well, I hoped.

I teleported my suitcases to the foyer of our house and walked down the stairs. I followed my nose to the dining room at the packhouse. I could smell all kinds of food and wondered if my nose wasn’t working. Why would we have meatloaf and lasagna in the morning? I could smell pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and if I wasn’t mistaken, fresh fruit of all kinds. My stomach growled on cue with Windy's as she walked beside me. I hadn’t noticed her before. She almost had me jumping in fright.

Almost.

“Did your wolf wake you up by howling in your mind?” She inquired, laughing at my face. I didn’t need to answer her. We were closer than any of the other twins in our family, well, maybe not Ander and Asher.

“Yes, he did, Windy.” I looked over at her. “Did you get any sleep or did you have any dreams of your mate?”

She blinked her eyes, her mouth dropped open, and she looked at me with wide eyes. “How did you know?” She paused, her eyes widened even more. “You had a dream or vision about your mate too, didn’t you?”

I nodded my head. “She’s beautiful. I’ve never looked at a female the way I look and reacted to her.”

“My mate is so handsome. You know me, I don’t look at men like all the other girls do. I’ve never been interested in anyone. I wasn’t going to date someone and give them all my firsts away,” Windy remarked. “He trains the warriors.”

“Well, I guess we are going to go look at the warriors. I need to anyway. I need to make sure he’s up to the challenge of protecting you.”

“I can protect myself!" Windy exclaimed. "You will do no such thing, Sonny! I don’t want you to hurt him.” Windy growled and slapped my arm.

“Well, I guess we will have to see, especially if I tell you we are going,” I joked, making sure Windy knew I wasn’t serious as we walked into the dining room and stopped.
