Chapter 89 - Toss?

Dedicated to oddball and N.Y.O.B. It's always lovely to see your comments on my work. It's what makes me want to get another chapter out quickly. Thank you.

Recap

The vampyre fell to the floor and cried as Sonny broke his bond with Marcel, making sure to give him back to his true master, Maximus. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I couldn’t break away from their orders. I did everything I could to break away.”

“Hey, Nathaniel, it’s okay. We broke the spell and put you back to your rightful master. We knew something was up after Royal Beta Windy knocked you down-”

“-Yeah, sorry,” I sincerely said as I stopped my pacing to give him a sincere smile, feeling guilty about his eye.

Windy’s POV (just a bit longer)

I nodded my head to Maximus. The man, Nathanial, walked over to him and bowed his head. I heard him asking if he was any kind of trouble. He didn't have a choice in what was being done to him. Maximus had him come to us and apologize - which he did profusely. I had apologized for his eye I had taken, but he waved me off and let me know he would have been dead if he had killed one of us, that we had saved his life. We talked to him for a little longer until Maximus came over and got him and disappeared with Nathanial. Now, it was time to say goodbye to my family.

I nodded and walked over to my parents. I hugged my mom first and then my dads’. I saved my brothers for last. I picked up Ander and Ash, hugging them to me. Trace and Chase ran up to me and hugged me tightly. I was trying not to cry and they weren’t helping. Haley and Kaley teleported to me and hugged me too. My older sisters were next. Autumn and Winter hugged me hard, making sure I knew to call on them if I needed them. Last but not least, was my brothers Griffith and Kaden.

“Be careful,” my brother, Griffith, ordered as I laughed. His orders did nothing for me anymore and he knew it.

“We will. We’ll watch each other’s backs, you can count on it. But, if we need help with any butt whooping we will call on all of you,” I replied as I started laughing, my siblings laughing with me.

Maryln ran up to me, hugging me tightly. Almost too tight. “I made a bunch of energy bars for you to take with you. I’ll have your mom teleport them to you when you’re out. Watch what you eat there. I love you, you know that right?” I nodded my head. “Good. Go kick some idiots ass. Make your mate behave, too,” she whispered to me as I laughed.

“I will. I love you too, Marylyn. Take care of my cousins. I’ll see you soon. I can’t stay away from the best cook ever.”

She let go of me and threw herself in Sonny’s arms. She told Sonny the same thing she had told me, minus the mate information. I shook my head at her, turning around and seeing our pack crying.

I stood up on my chair and clapped my hands. “We are still a part of this pack and will always be. We will come by when we can. Just know we love all of you,” I stated as I gave them a sad smile. It was as if a light switch had been turned on. They all stood up and showed their necks, surprising the hell out of me. They were showing that they were loyal to us. The warriors put their fists across their chests and bowed, showing up the same thing. I was speechless and in awe.

“Thank you, everyone, in our family. This pack is our family, too. I am proud of all of you. Thank you for your allegiance,” Sonny said as he bowed his head to the pack, shocking our pack members. No one had ever seen a King bow their head to anyone. It was unheard of, but it didn’t stop my brother from showing his respect to his home pack.

I heard everyone cheer for the new Royal King and Beta. I smiled so big it was a miracle my face didn’t freeze. I was so happy they were not treating us any differently. Not now anyway. It was as if I could take a huge breath in. I knew it wouldn’t be this way at the castle but I could take this with me and relive it when I wanted to.

“Alright, pack, we still have a bedtime,” I announced as they all laughed.

Sonny’s POV (finally)

I walked out of the dining room with Windy. She had her arm hooked with mine as we literally hopped into the hallway. I knew she was lost in thought. I was worried about going to the castle too. We didn’t know what to expect going in. I knew it was a place of deception and people who thought they could have anything they wanted without working for it. I didn’t understand lazy people. I didn’t understand liars, thieves, or murderers. I knew some of the people had killed to get in their position of power. I knew they had killed for bragging rites and so they could belittle people who were below them.

Well, you know what we need to do, Sonny. We need to show them who has the real power and toss their asses out,” I laughed in my mind.

“Toss? Toss their asses?” I started laughing. ”I can’t wait to see how they treat others and me. I will gladly toss them out by their ear or strip of their power and give them to the ones they belittled. I can bet they have never been a real fight. Let’s wait and see. I want to wait and play a little before I toss their asses out, okay?” I asked my wolf.

“Goodnight, Sonny, I’ll see you at four in the morning. I’m ready to see how many will lie to our faces. Don’t forget to spell your room. I don’t want to show him up in my pajamas to kill someone,” Windy explained as we both laughed out.

“Goodnight, Windy, I promise my room will be spelled so you don’t have to kill anyone in your pajamas,” I told her dryly as I smiled at her.

I nodded my head as she went to her room and I went to mine. The first thing I did was to spell my room of anyone coming in. I made sure to spell my door. I didn’t want someone walking into my room and killing me while I slept.

I walked into my bathroom and took a quick shower. I stepped out of the shower and dried off, making sure to dry my hair as much as I could. I hated a wet bed. I couldn’t stand to feel as if I sweat the whole night. I stepped into my clean boxers and hung up my towel. I knew I needed to sleep but I needed my wolf to explain the laws to me. Oh, I knew most of it from when my dads’ taught me.

Go to sleep and I will play the information over and over. You will pick up a lot more this way,” my wolf advised me. I knew it was a great way to learn. I had to learn different languages when my dad taught me about me being an Alpha. I wondered if my grandma had told him I would need it.

Probably.

She was ready for anything.
