Chapter 122 - Stuck On Stupid
A/N: Dedicated to oddball. Thanks for being the first person to comment on the last chapter.
Recap
I could hear the Elder’s heart rates rise in fear of what this fucker could do their mates. I knew they were scared and trying not to show it. Maybe I should have not said what I did about the fuckers, maybe plans, but I couldn’t help the way my instincts were screaming at me to hurry. I was so worried I thought about sending my brothers and sisters to get them sooner than the Elders could make their phone calls.
“You rang, Royal Alpha King?”
Sonny’s POV
“You rang, Royal Alpha King?” Asher and Ander asked me out of nowhere. I swear my heart quickened to that of an energizer bunny. I was so lost in thought about the mates I didn’t even realize I wasn’t alone.
“Damn it! Why do you do that to me?” I asked as I clutched my chest to try to calm my heart from the outside in, not that it was working. I swear my family does it on purpose, little shits.
“Hey! I heard that, Sonny!” Asher complained as he crossed his little arms across his chest and smirked.
“You were meant to hear me,” I sang out, laughing at my brother’s antics.
I looked around and found Kat sitting on the couch, a look of amusement on her face as she looked at us. I rolled my eyes at my brother’s and walked over to Kat, picking her up and setting her down on my lap. “These are my two youngest brothers, Asher and Ander. Asher and Ander, this is my mate, Kat.”
“We’ve already met while you were lost in thought and pacing the room. Hell, you even forgot I was in here with you,” Kat told me as she covered up a laugh, trying to give me a stern look, as if ‘how could you forget your mate.’
I ducked my head and pouted. “I didn’t forget about you, I was thinking about mates-”
“-except your own-” Asher cut in as I glared at him.
I looked back at my mate. “I feel as if something is about to happen to the Elder’s mates and I always trust my instincts.”
“Well, let’s go get them and quickly,” my mom stated as the rest of my family showed up.
“Dammit! Why does my whole family think it’s a great idea to scare the crap out of me?” I exclaimed as I clutched at my chest for the second time.
“Boy! I brought you into this world and I can take you out of it. Curse at me again and I will do something...Uh, evil?” My mom strongly suggested, earning a laugh from the whole family.
“I love your mother, Sonny,” Kat told me through the mind-link as I had my nose on her shoulder, taking quick breathes of her decent in, calming myself down.
“Well, thank you, Kat,” my mom told Kat as she jumped, holding her chest, too.
“What-” Kat was going to say until I pressed a finger to her lips and shook my head.
“Honey, my whole family can read minds,” I explained to Kat as her eyes bugged out of her head.
“Where do we need to go?” My dad, Blaine, asked, startling me enough for me to flinch.
“Come on, we need to hurry,” I told my family as we got up and teleported to the conference room, scaring the poor Elders.
“Is everything okay?” Elder Wise asked quickly as he stood up, his face falling at the look on my face. I knew he could tell something was seriously off.
Oh, what a loaded question. I didn’t want to worry the men, but we were on a time-table to protect their mates. I don’t want to lose any of them to this fucker and I wouldn’t. I could tell the men were patiently waiting on me to fill them in as to the question of why we were here.
I took a deep breath. “We need to get your mates now or they will be lost. The fucker is making a move on all of your mates. If you will walk to one of my family members we can get to them quickly but we need to go now.” I had never seen Elder’s run as fast as these men had run. I knew my voice was urgent and caught their attention. So, with Elder Wise, Kat we teleported to his mate who was trying to fight off a wolf.
“Cease!” I ordered as I walked over to the wolf, sending him to the cells and letting my guard know to lock him up. I walked over to the woman and healed her broken arm. She had fought valiantly.
"They're are stuck on stupid, Sonny," my wolf piped in, almost making me laugh.
Almost.
“Thank you, sir?” Elder Wise’s mate said as she looked at her mate. I could hear her thoughts and her energizer bunny heart rate as she fought hard to calm down.
“Elly, this is the Royal Alpha King,” Elder Wise told his wife, an edge to his voice.
“Oh, Goddess, I’m very sorry, Royal Alpha King,” she told me as she bowed and lowered her head, her whole body shaking.
“Not too many people know about me yet. Don’t worry about it. We need to get you out of here before Alpha, fucking, Alveraz gets word of your rescue. Can you come with us, please?” I told her as I waved off her apology. I knew she was nervous about meeting another King, granted I wasn't like the other Kings before me, but she would learn my ways soon.
“Yes, of course,” she answered as she blew out a breath, grabbing her children she had hidden in the pantry. She was still shaking but she was tougher than she thought. It didn't look as if she had panicked when the wolf went after her, no, she stood up for herself, making sure her children were safe. It was only after her fight did she start to shake.
"We need to go before we meet another trespasser or two who just stepped on your pack territory. I can't wait to meet this wolf, he won't like me very much. He's trying to tie up loose ends, so let's make it a little harder for him..."
The glass broke in the living room window...
A/N: Sorry for the shorter chapter, but I have a reason for it. Yeah, yeah, another cliffhanger. Lol. Sorry.
