Chapter 112 - Can't Catch A Break

Dedicated to oddball, PenumbraMINE, and, last but not least, N.Y.O.B. You don't know what it means to me that you comment on my chapters. I love to hear what you have to say, so, thank you very much.

Recap

“We need to get this trial over with. I want to spend some time with my mate before all the other problems in our life. I know we need to get together and talk about this but please give me one day or night to spend with my mate before everything comes to pass,” I basically ordered and pleaded as I hugged Kat.

I could see the wheels turning in their heads about the same time I heard what sounded like marching, making me turn towards the noise and the rest of my family getting in their fighting stance, making me proud of them.

Sonny’s POV

I teleported us outside, making sure I brought the Elders with us. I could see the surprised expressions on their faces but I was more interested in what was going on. I saw the soldiers coming up an incline in formation. They were an impressive group of soldiers. Everyone was in formation as if they had been doing this for centuries. As soon as the men saw me, they bent low at their knees and bowed to us, and showed their necks.

“At ease, soldiers,” I told them as they stood up ramrod straight.

“Royal Alpha King, we are ready for any orders you have for us,” the commander stated, saluting me as he moved back.

“Thank you, Commander.” I nodded at him. “Right now we need to make sure you are healthy and ready to fight whatever comes our way. These are nasty pieces of work and they’re hard to kill-”

“-I’m sorry, Royal King, but we have been fighting the skinwalkers for awhile now. We’ve been making sure they say off Royal lands.”

I nodded and thought about what they’ve been doing for the Kingdom. “Very good. Was there a reason I haven’t seen you before now?”

“Yes, and his name is Dean. We didn’t agree with him trying to become the next King. He would have an awful leader, plus, he didn’t have permission from our Goddess,” the commander replied.

I smiled at him - a true smile. “Thank you, Commander. He’s enjoying himself at his trial and I need to get back to it. If I could speak to you tomorrow I would appreciate it.”

“No problem, sir.” The commander smiled and backed away to his men, commanding them to march.

They were gone as soon as they went back down the incline. I chuckled and teleported all of us back into court, the Elder’s shaking their heads, one of which was smiling so big, as if he enjoyed the rush.

“Come on, Kat, Windy, and Ares, we need to get through the idiots who have been very bad.” I laughed at their faces and pulled my mate with me to our seats, waiting for the rest to take their seats so we can get rid of the idiots who want to do away with us.

Then on to the next ones who want to murder us and our family. We can’t get a break,” my wolf, Moon, whined as he laid down and put his tail over his face, hiding his eyes.

Well, we aren’t going to let them mess up our lives, right?” I sarcastically asked as I cut him off from answering.

The next person was the man who called himself Windy’s mate. He only wanted the power that came with being a Royal Beta. He didn’t know I could read his mind even with the block Ruby had put on his mind. I spelled him, to tell the truth, feeling my family spell him even more.

And, the idiot spoke, “Mate, what are you doing with Ares when you know you’re mine?

I heard Windy’s thoughts about him being her mate. I rolled my eyes internally and raised one of my eyebrows. “You. Are. Not. Her. Mate.”

“Yes, I’m her mate. Why doesn’t she recognize me? Is she spelled or something?” The man asked, sounding as if he was telling the truth.

I quickly searched his mind, Kat and Windy joining me. I couldn’t find a spell but when Ares joined us in our search of the area the spell was lit up brightly. We broke the spell and the man hit his knees as I looked over at Ares and smiled, mouthing a thank you.

“Sir, you were the one spelled. I will forgive you on this.” The man smiled and jumped up. “But, you will be on probation and you will help in the kitchens one day a week. If I hear you gave the men and women any problems I will jail you for a long time, got it?”

“Yes, your Royal Highness,” the man said as he bowed to me.

I spoke to his wolf, letting him know what would happen if his skin side acted up. I let him know it was something I didn’t want to do but I would have to. I could see the man as he paled, not knowing I could talk to his wolf, too.

“You many leave. But, you need to take my words as fact. You and your wolf have been warned. I don’t think you want your wolf to suffer for any of your actions, right?” The man, Clyde, nodded his head and bowed low to the ground showing me his neck.

I looked up and caught the eye of Elder Wise. I wanted him to know what was going to happen to Dean. I couldn’t let his hate turn worse than it was. If he got loose it would end badly and we all knew it. I didn’t trust Darla either. She would make sure to get Dean out. He had a hold over her mind. What? I wasn’t sure.

“If anyone else wants to join Dean in his destructive behavior, make yourself known now. If I find out you have plans for a coo I will show you what hell looks like. I’m sure the shadow demons would love to have your soul. Do I make myself clear?” I explained in a commanding tone.

“Well, I have a problem with your words,” a voice said.

A/N: I know, I know. But, I couldn't help this one. I just got my internet back and I was excited to write. Lol.
