Recap

I looked up and caught the eye of Elder Wise. I wanted him to know what was going to happen to Dean. I couldn’t let his hate turn worse than it was. If he got loose it would end badly and we all knew it. I didn’t trust Darla either. She would make sure to get Dean out. He had a hold over her mind. What? I wasn’t sure.

“If anyone else wants to join Dean in his destructive behavior, make yourself known now. If I find out you have plans for a coop I will show you what hell looks like. I’m sure the shadow demons would love to have your soul. Do I make myself clear?” I explained in a commanding tone.

“Well, I have a problem with your words,” a voice said.

Sonny’s POV

I turned my head quickly to the sound of the person’s voice, noticing Asher and Ander floating above the person in the shadows. “And, why would you have a problem with my words?”

The woman pursed her lips and tried to look at me with sultry eyes as she looked behind me. “Because I can’t let you get any stronger than you are and you having a mate would almost make you invincible.”

I looked back over my shoulder, making sure my mate was okay as I looked at Windy with desperation showing in my eyes. “I’ve got her. Keep the bitch focused on you,” Windy said through the mind-link.

“So, what’s your plan?” I asked as I looked her in the eye, making sure I truth spelled her. I crossed my arms over my chest and moved closer to her, just not too close. I didn’t know this bitch and I didn’t want to.

I waited on her to say something, watching her eyes carefully. I tried to read her mind but she had it blocked to me. But, it didn’t take me long to break into her mind. She wanted to kill me and my mate or take me as her mate. I barked out a laugh at her stupidity. I would never mate with her.

Never

Ever

She thought she was beautiful and better than Kat - which was laughable. She didn’t hold a candle to my mate’s beauty. My mate had long red hair with ringlets all over. She had beautiful green eyes, a body that wouldn’t quit. But, that wasn’t the reason I already loved her, no, it was her witty personality, her bluntness and her honesty, her willingness to help others, and her willingness to fight for us. She didn’t claim to be my mate, no, she waited on my wolf and hers to figure it out on our own. I knew she was one and only mate.

I spelled the woman even more. I wanted a truthful answer out of her. “Answer me!” I ordered as I narrowed my eyes at her.

“She will only make you stronger! And, we can’t have her or you any stronger than you are right now! We could bend you to our will if you hadn’t found your mate!” She gasped and tried to eat her fist as my younger brothers wrapped her arms in ropes laced with wolf’s bane.

They nodded their heads to me. “We will take her to the cells.” They narrowed their eyes at me. “We will spell it and make sure she can’t escape.

“Thank you, boys.”

“Our pleasure, Royal Alpha King,” the boys said as they bowed, a small smile on their faces.

I looked at the bitch and crossed my arms over my chest, making her gulp and try to step back in fear. “You might have signed your own death warrant. It depends solely on you. I will talk to you some more tomorrow.” I gave her my blank face - the one the kids called my ice look. I pointed at her. “You will not leave the cells for any reason. If you do, you will make your way back into the cells no matter what you have to do or say. You will stay there until I decide what I want to do to you. Now, tell me you understand,” I ordered quietly, watching as the wolves around me shivered in fear.

“I understand, Royal King,” she quietly said as the boys dragged her out of our courts.

I turned towards where I knew she was with Windy. I held my hand out to her, hoping Windy made it look as if she walked out of the shadows of the room. I knew Windy was reading my mind and would do her best to make the area around them turn dark gradually.

“Alright. Let’s take a seat and get this circus over with,” I joked, causing everyone to laugh.

We all sat down and I pulled Kat to me and kissed her breathless. I was afraid someone was going to take her from me. My wolf growled at the idea of someone being able to get to my mate. I was shaking a little as Kat ran her hands down my arms, calming me down a lot more than I was. Thank the Goddess for Windy being quick with the idea of covering them in her veil of invisibility.

Sonny?” Windy waited on me to turn towards her. “It wasn’t me that put us under a veil of invisibility, it was your mate. She is very powerful.”

I looked over at my mate, my eyes wide and my mouth hanging open a little - which I closed with an audible snap, not wanting to catch any flies. My mate chuckled and hugged me, whispering in my ear about why she was so strong. To say I was surprised was a huge fucking understatement. I would need to talk some more with my mate before my libido or my wolf took over later.

I took her hands in mine and kissed her cheek with the thought of getting through court. She nodded her head and sat in her seat as she held my hand.

I looked out at all the people who were waiting for the next person. “I apologize for making everyone wait.” I smiled as their mouths gaped open at my apology. “But, anyone having a mate would understand my need to make sure my mate was okay.”

Everyone in the court stood up and bowed to me. I was seriously wondering if they all lost their mind. “Royal Alpha King?” I turned towards Elder Wise. “I believe you are the best King we have ever had. Not only are you humble, but you are also kind and trustworthy. You put others before yourself. It’s what we have all been waiting for - even the ones who didn’t know what they needed or wanted agree.”

“Hear, hear,” several of the warriors stated, a smile on their faces.
