Darla?” I waited for her to look at me. “Michael can’t stand you - which is why he volunteered to help.”

“You’re lying!”

Michael must have waited outside. He walked back into the room and stared at Darla, a look of disbelief on his face. “I. Can’t. Stand. You!” He emphasized each word. “You always told your friends how you wanted your cousin as your mate. You said, ‘he would be easy to dominate since he wasn’t a wolf.’ I guess the laughs on you.” Michael walked back outside, laughing as he walked away.

“Can someone please take this ‘man’ back to his cell?” I asked as both of my dads’ got up along with two guards. “Stop!” I ordered.

Sonny’s POV

I got up from my chair, throne, whatever, and walked down the steps. I eyed the guards as they trembled, trying to break my order for them to stop.

“Hey, idiot, you forgot to tell your dads they could move.” My wolf laughed as I rolled my eyes.

“Alpha Blaine and Alpha Zane, you may move,” I told my dads’ a sheepish look on my face. They both bowed to me and smirked.

I walked up to both of the guards, grunting out my irritation. I would never get through court if I had to stop for stupid fucks. I didn’t want to be here all day, I had a mate I would love to get to know.

I looked at the guard on my left, spelling him from lying. “Why are you really here for?” I caught the Elder’s confused face but all would be revealed soon, so I wasn’t worried about upsetting them. I had a feeling this idiot would upset them more than I ever could.

“We were here to free Dean,” the idiot spat out, realizing what he said out loud. He tried moving his hands. I knew if he could he would have eaten his fist in a heartbeat.

I turned to the man on my left and cocked my head, listening to his nasty thoughts. “Katarina, Windy, and Ares, watch your back, this man has friends who want to kill all of us. “

My face was blank, something my parents had taught me from a young age. I knew I looked as if I didn’t have anything on my mind - immovable ice is what Windy called me.

“And, what were you here to do?” I asked the disturbing man.

“To kill you, your mate, your Beta couple, and anyone else who opposed Dean as King. We were allowed to have fun when he was in charge. Now, with you here, you will be a stick in the mud and we can’t search for our mates until we are here for four years. We have to prove ourselves loyal before he would let us go.”

“What?” I paused, trying to pull my expression back. I was totally shocked at what he said. “You can search for your mate at any time. You just need to ask for a pass to find them or we can have a ball, making sure all single males and single women come. I would never stop you from finding your mate.”

The man’s face paled, even more, his mouth was dropped open wide, his heartbeat was loud in the quiet room. I knew he believed what Dean told him. It was ridiculous to think otherwise, but he didn’t even ask if he could go find his mate. I heard his mind-link to the other men, letting them know that I would never keep them from their mate. He told them about the ball and everything.

I released the order on the man, wanting to see what he would do next. He sank to the floor to his knees and bowed, showing his neck in submission, shocking the hell out of me.

I heard movement behind me and turned around to see what was going on. I almost laughed when I saw my mate in a fighting stance with my mother in front of her. My mom was shocked at my mate, she couldn’t understand how Katarin knew where she was when Windy was the only one who seemed to be wise to our family's moves.

"What the hades?" My mom exclaimed. "How the hell did you know where I was?"

I heard her think about being a hot, surprised, momma. I chuckled as I walked over to my mate. “Hi, I’m Katarin, it’s very nice to meet you, Alpha Summer,” my mate said, holding out her hand.

My mom pulled her into a hug. “I like you. You didn’t stutter or shake at my name. It’s nice to meet you too, Kat.”

I asked my mom through the mind-link what was going on, especially when I saw all my brothers and sisters. I needed to know what was going on, I wanted to keep our people safe and train my army some more. I got some of the answers I expected and some I didn’t expect but that’s my life, nothing seems to go according to plan.

I sighed and grabbed my mate's arm, wanting to have a few days of ourselves together. At least, I could have a few nights to get to know my mate. My horny wolf would quit with some images in my brain. He was annoying as hell with all his suggestions, ideas, and his dirty mind. He seemed to want me to mark her and mate in front of everyone - which would never happen and he knew it.

“We need to get this trial over with. I want to spend some time with my mate before all the other problems in our life. I know we need to get together and talk about this but please give me one day or night to spend with my mate before everything comes to pass,” I basically ordered and pleaded as I hugged Kat.

I could only pray to the Goddess they understood why I needed to be with Kat. No, it wasn't just for sex. I wanted to mark my mate. I needed to know if someone came for her that I could track her down. Although I was positive I could track her without her being marked, but this was mate and I wanted time with her before hell started raining down on us.

"And, hell would be a mild description of what will be raining down," my wolf told me in a quiet tone of voice.

Really?

He had to go there?

"Well, yes. You need to train some more, Sonny," my wolf sarcastically answered my unspoken question.

I looked up at my family. I could see the wheels turning in their heads about the same time I heard what sounded like marching, making me turn towards the noise and the rest of my family getting in their fighting stance, making me proud of them.
