Chapter 109 - Ninja Warrior
And, my friends oddball and N.Y.O.B. continue on my dedications. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Recap
“I do,” a woman answered as Sonny nodded her head towards her. “Mate.”
“Really? You are my mate?” He asked as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Really.”
“No, you aren’t, bitch!” A woman yelled as she walked to the woman, slapping her hard. “I can see how many people you’ve spelled since you got here. You’re an idiot. And, as you were telling my mate you were his...” She paused. “You. Were. Shaking. Your. Head. No,” she told her, emphasizing each word.
Sonny’s mate must have picked up someone moving behind her...
Sonny’s POV
I listened to mate talk to the stupid bitch, cheering her on inside my mind, a small smile on my face. She laid into the she-bitch, slapping the lying she-bitch across her face. I wasn’t sure what she was saying, I was too busy checking my mate out.
I noticed her turn around quickly, slamming her forehead to a vampyre who tried to grab her.
"We have a ninja, warrior, queen - cool!" Moon, my wolf yelled.
I stood up quickly and roared. “Stop! Any vampyres who are hidden need to show yourself right now!” I watched as ten showed up. They were close to my mate but my family was closer. I nodded my head at my family and looked at the vampyres.
“Maximus!” I yelled, causing the vampyres to shift nervously.
“What?” He asked as he looked around. “Oh, I can see what the problem is.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “No, my mate had everything under control.” I smiled at my mate.
“Your mate had everything under control?” He asked slowly as if I had hit my head.
“Are these men yours?” I asked instead of answering Max.
“They are some of the ones I have been hunting. Imagine my surprise when I found them on any of your family’s land.” He laughs and sobers up quickly. “Sorry, Royal King.” Maximus bows, making me crack a smile and wave my hand at him.
“No problem, King Maximus,” I tell him as people gasp around me.
I couldn’t figure out what their problem was. Didn’t any other King have fun with other supernaturals? I decided to read their minds as I walked to my mate. What I heard surprised the shit out of me. What was wrong with the past Kings? It was good to have friends in all of the supernaturals, not treat them as if they were shit.
I stopped in front of my mate, nodding to my parents, who were still behind her. I bowed low to my mate, causing people to whisper. “My name is Sonny, maybe I inquire what your name is?”
My mate raised her eyebrow at my wording and smiled. “My name is, Katarina or Kat, your highness,” my mate softly answered as she bowed to me.
I pulled her up. I didn’t want or need her to bow to me. She was my mate, Queen, and my equal. I was startled when she jumped into my arms and hugged me but I hugged her back and whispered to her. “I have a trial to get through. Will you join me please?”
My mate nodded into my chest as I started carrying her back to my chair. I sat her in the chair to my right and gave Windy a tight nod, letting her know I wanted her to keep an eye on my mate.
“King Maximus, will you be joining us for this trial? You have every right to be here for the sentencing of the vampyres who tried to take my mate,” I asked as I took my seat.
“Yes, I would like to be here for this,” Maximus said as he sat at the table for each supernatural.
“They will be sentenced to death, Maximus,” I told him through a mind-link, getting a short nod from him.
I looked around at everyone’s faces. “Does anyone else have anything else to say before the trial finally starts?” Not one person made a peep or moved.
“You told all of them to stop, Sonny,” Windy mind-linked me, laughing in my mind.
“You can all sit. If you have anything in this trial, you can speak at the appropriate time and not before. I will not have an outburst during the trial, but if anyone wants to test me then go ahead and speak.” I nodded. “Bring in the first person and any witnesses.” I knew the first person would be Dean. I also knew he had tried to imitate the witnesses and my dad, Blaine, had to interfere and stop him.
Stupid twit.
I tuned in my seat when I heard my mate snigger next to me. “Did you hear me?” I asked through the mind-link.
She nodded her head and smiled brightly. “I’ve already received my Royal wolf. I was a witch but the Moon Goddess kept me from making stupid decisions - not that she needed to worry. It’s the reason I knew where to come to find my mate.”
I smiled and heard chains jingling., quickly kissing Katarin’s hand before turning my head towards the noise. Dean was brought to the defendant table and handcuffed to the table and floor, the witness’s following to another table.
I noticed Dean scowl as he looked around. But, when his eyes narrowed on my mate and smile graced his ugly mug I was furious, well, until Kat rubbed my arm. I made sure to spell the court from any unneeded vampyres teleporting in. I didn’t want anyone to be able to take my mate away from me, not that I had to worry, Kat spelled me as much as I spelled her.
“Dean, you have been accused of treason. You are charged with falsifying paperwork. You are charged with stealing from the Royal Pack and padding your bank accounts - all of them,” I sternly said as I watched his eyes widen and a thought crosses his mind.
I smirked. “Oh yes, even your account in your girlfriend's name.”
Dean’s eyes were so wide I thought they would pop out of his head. I could tell he was mad at being found out and losing the money he had stolen. He thought the money would help in securing his place as King. He could pay people to back him up and work with him.
“How about we start with falsifying paperwork, shall we?” I asked, not caring about his reply.
“Yeah, let's,” Dean answered with a smirk.
I smirked back, knowing I had him where it hurts. “I’ve been over the falsified papers you were trying to burn when I first got here, boy. I made sure to have representatives look over all the work, including the ones you burnt,” I stated.
I noticed Dean’s mouth drop open. “How?” He narrows his eyes. “I had them burnt.”
What an idiot, I thought. He incriminated himself. “Exactly. You had them burnt, but we intercepted a lot of the papers. I guess you didn’t know we were witches - very strong witches. But, we didn’t bring the pages back, knowing you would have accused us of tampering with the pages.” I paused and rose from my seat, pulling my mate with me.
“Nice timing,” Kat told me as she laughed in my mind.
“Welcome, Elder’s.” I waited on our tailor to show them to their seats. He wanted to help with anything he could and I paid him handsomely.
“Thank you,” Elder Wise answered as he bowed his head to me, the other Elders following suit.
“We were talking about the burnt paperwork,” I explained to the Elders.
“Elders, I need you to tell, in your own words, what you found on the paperwork, please.”
Elder Wise stood up and bowed towards me and Kat, a small smile on his face. “All of last night we worked on the burnt pages. This morning we read what was revealed on the paperwork. And, let me tell you we were shocked speechless. This man.” He pointed at Dean and sneered. “Has been funding the tests on pack members with the skinwalkers.”
The crowd started whispering and it was soon gaining speed. “Quiet! Elder Wise needs to finish speaking,” Windy yelled as she eyed the crowd.
Everyone quieted immediately - much to my surprise. “Thank you. Go ahead, Elder Wise, please continue.”
The Elder nodded his head, mouthing a thank you. “With the money, he has stolen from this pack, he was able to help pay for testing on pack members. He explained to everyone that he needed to make sure they were healthy but he was finding pack members who he thought would be better for his project of adding an army of skinwalkers and brujas. The blacker the witch the better. It states, ’Anyone with the blood type of A positive was a good candidate to be turned, saying they lasted longer than the rest.” He shuddered and took his seat.
“I was helping my cause!” He yelled, realizing what he said and stuffing his hand in his mouth.
Oops.
A/N: See not much of a cliffhanger on this one. Lol.
