Chapter 42
"Get lost."
Raymond sat down and didn't even give Alexander a look.
After that, Raymond sank into the sofa, lowering his eyes, not talking to anyone.
When Scarlett kissed him just now, he had an indefinable feeling. He was excited and delighted, but before he could figure it out, she let go of him.
He smoked a cigarette in the smoking room outside. Meanwhile, he was full of Scarlett who raised her charming eyes and asked him if she could kiss him.
Alexander and Stephen had been friends with Raymond for so many years, but this was the first time they had seen him like this.
The two men winked at each other. They wanted to ask Raymond but finally didn't dare.
The room was silent. After a while, Raymond suddenly raised his head and glanced at Alexander. "It's not like you to be so quiet. What's up? Is anything wrong with your tongue?" Alexander was depressed. "Didn't you tell me to get lost?"
"Oh, really?"
Raymond leaned forward and poured himself a glass of water. Alexander and Stephen both suspected that this man was not Raymond.
"Raymond, are you okay? You're here to drink water?"
Raymond raised his eyelids indifferently. "Any problem?"
"Well, no."
Alexander was scared and stopped asking more questions. He began to complain, "Do you know that silly CEO of Fieroor? Some time ago, our film and television department contacted them for the rights to a novel on their website. We had settled the price and arranged to sign the contract today, but they called me early this morning to tell me they won't sign it!
"Fine! I'm not counting on that novel! Yet they quickly sold it to Slooworld. I..."
Stephen chuckled. "Did your staff offend them?"
"No! Your sister recommended the novel to me. I asked the secretary and a few managers to read it and write summaries, and then I went through it myself. I think it's really good, so I selected someone to contact them."
The person he selected couldn't be so stupid as to be rude to them.
This was why Alexander was puzzled. He racked his brains but still didn't know why they suddenly refused to cooperate with him.
Raymond glanced at Alexander. "If I recall correctly, Fieroor was established five years ago and raised a Series A round three years ago. At that time, the Mornet Corporation invested more than 200 million dollars. It increased the investment in Series B round. If your people didn't offend Fieroor, then you should think about whether they offended Mornet."
Raymond was acute. Alexander and the others could have never thought about that.
Alexander was not quite convinced. "Mornet can't be so powerful, right?"
"It has veto power."
Alexander frowned. "Who's the owner of Mornet?"
Raymond answered,"! don't know. No one in the industry knows who the person behind Mornet is."
Alexander sighed. "It must be a bigwig! I'll ask my secretary to talk that over with Fieroor."
Alexander had never been humiliated like that before!
Raymond didn't comment on his decision. He somehow felt that Alexander would regret it.
