Chapter Traitor
After telling Sam, he thought they should get the gang together, to discuss the situation. So they met up at Henrys office.
"Well the first time was at the relay race, and I thought....you know...cus everyone was cheering and it was so loud, maybe I just heard it wrong." Rose looked stumped. "But then I heard it again while we were ki- ....we were dancing." Rose said.
"Oh please Rosalie, we all saw you two smackin lips." Mandy replied.
Sam and Rose both blushed.
"So who do we think it is?" Jesse had a serious look on his face. A look Rose had never seen on him before. "Could you recognise the voice." He asked.
"No." She replied. "Both times it came in like a whisper."
"Let's think hard about this. This really only began once the celebration started. So perhaps someone from another pack is screwing with your head." Said Mandy.
"Perhaps someone you know." Said Jesse.
They all turned to him. "That's the only thing that makes sense. No one's seen you for 14 years until now. Why mess with you for shits and giggles? Perhaps there's someone here who new you from before."
"You mean someone from her pack." Sam stated.
"Or the R.C Pack." Jesse affirmed.
"We don't really know if they had anything to do with it." Sam said.
"Your right." Said Jesse.
"But wouldn't Rosalie recognise them?" Asked Mandy.
They all turned to Rose who looked confused and helpless. "I...I don't know." She looked at Sam. "What if someone from their pack is here?"
"Rose." Said Jesse. "Please....can you remember anything from that night....anything at all?" His tone changed. This was a whole other Jesse.
"I........I...." Tears started to well. She couldn't comprehend someone wanting to mess with her, maybe even hurt her. After 14 years of running, fear was what drove her to survive. To live a life of loneliness and now after all this time?
"I don't remember much. I just remember it was night time, an....and my mom and dad took me outside of the house, and she told me to run. S..so I did." She wiped the tears from her cheek. "I ran into the trees, and when I looked back they were surrounded by wolves."
"Wolves? Do you think you could recognise them...if you saw their wolf?" Jesse asked.
"I don't know...I barely recognised my own father in the photo, I.....sh.....she just kept yelling run. So I ran and kept running. I was so scared, and that's when I shifted. I....I don't know anything else. I'm.......Im sorry...I....."
She cried uncontrollably, and fell into Sams arms. He just held her, and let her cry.
I"'m sorry Rose." Said Jesse. He looked at Mandy and Sam, and mind transferred so she couldn't hear.
"There's got to be someone here that knows her. No one in their right mind would mess with her here just for shits. They would have to know what happened to her, to her pack." Jesse stated.
"Your right." Mandy agreed. "Perhaps we can narrow it down, when the celebration is over. A majority of people are leaving in the morning, and if it's stops, maybe they've gone?"
"Yes, you could be right. But lets not forget its Alphas 1 year celebration of leading the pack in a couple days, and some people will be staying for the fireworks."
"Oh ya! I totally forgot about that." Mandy said. She looked at Sam who was consoling Rose. She had stopped crying but was completely lost in her thoughts.
"Sam, it might be best if she stays with you tonight. She feels the safest when your around." She suggested.
Sam just nodded.
"Should we get alpha involved?" Asked Jesse.
"Perhaps." Said Mandy.
"Ok, I'll inform him." Jesse said. He looked at Mandy and gave her a nod. He looked at Sam holding a scared Rose and felt sick to his stomach. Why would anyone want to......He took a deep breath....."I'm going now." He looked at Sam, and gave him a nod.
"You should take her to your room Sam. I think she needs some rest." Said Mandy.
Sam picked up Rosalie, and made his way to the doors.
"And Sam?" Mandy said.
He looked back to her.
"Take care of our girl." She smiled.
He nodded.
.........................
Sam reached the room and laid Rosalie on the bed. He helped her take off her boots and pulled the blanket up towards her face. She was still and quite, still lost in her thoughts. He went to the window and opened it a crack to let in some fresh air. A sudden gust of wind blew in his face, along with the cold flakes of winter. Snow? He thought. He looked at Rose and smiled. He removed his boots at the foot of the bed and crawled in beside her. He was facing her, and noticed a tear still sitting on her cheek. He caressed his finger ever so gently to wipe it away. He kissed her on her forehead and perched his head beside hers. He just laid there quietly, feeling her breath on his neck. He then felt, her hands playing with his chain. He wrapped his arms around her and held her for the remainder of the night.
................
The next morning the halls were buzzing with shifters. They were all busy packing and cleaning up after spending three consecutive days partying. Sam woke up to an empty bed, but could hear the shower on in the bathroom. He could hear her washing up. He got up and looked out the hall, to see the busy bodies. He felt a cold draft on his neck and forgot he had the window open, so went to close it. Then he heard a crash come from the bathroom and Rosalie screaming. He quickly ran over and pulled away the curtains. She was curdled over, holding her hands to her ears.
"Make it stop!" She cried out.
"Make what stop!..... Rose! ....make what stop!?" He yelled frantically.
"Make them stop!!!" She pleaded.
Sam quickly mind transferred Mandy. "Get your ass over here now!" He told her.
Mandy heard the scarceness in his voice and didn't waste time getting to the room. She heard screaming from the bathroom, and quickly pushed the door to see Sam holding Rosalie on the bathroom floor. She was lieing there naked in Sams arms, who was trying his best to hold her. She had her hands on her ears screaming make them stop.
"Make who stop." Mandy yelled.
"The voices." Sam said.
Mandy was pissed off now. She didn't hesitate and quickly shifted to her wolf. She was the daughter of an alpha, and everyone there new it. She let out a menacing growl, that ripped throughout the halls of the pack house. Everyone and their dogs came to silent stand still. It was a warning.
She looked back to see Rose crying, but no longer in pain. Who ever was doing it, was here and her warning grabbed there attention stopping the mind transfer. She walked back to the bathroom where Sam was consoling her. He looked at his sister.
"Thank you." He said.
Everyone took Mandy's warning as a sign to get the fuck out. It was a matter of hours before the level of traffic died down in the halls and the noise dwindled. All that remained was the pack and a few others from out of town that would be staying for the one year anniversary of Locklins takeover.
