Fate’s Second Chance Chapter 8
Chapter 8

Her expression was so candid that it made Isaac wonder if he was inexperienced in this
aspect and was overreacting.
He stood grimly there, unmoving like an emotionless statue, making it impossible for
anyone to meet his gaze.
Salome, on the other hand, believed she should try to persuade Isaac again for the sake
of the studio’s future while the elevator descended.
It was after she started working that she realized her dignity meant nothing most of the
time. After all, what he could offer was far too much.
“Mr. Anderson, I would still like to know the style you prefer. I can give anything a try,
and if you’re still dissatisfied later, I won’t charge you.”
Isaac didn’t know what words to use to describe this woman anymore, and after a
moment of speechlessness and forbearance, he finally managed to say, “Don’t you
already have clients?”
Salome was somewhat surprised. No wonder. Is he worried that I will get distracted?
Indeed, some designers would handle several clients simultaneously, but Salome had
always pursued quality alone.

“I can assure you, Mr. Anderson, that I won’t take on others in the short term while working on your case. If you’re interested, Mr. Anderson, please allow me five minutes
for a detailed discussion.”
“I’m not,” Isaac said and stepped out of the elevator at once. Salome couldn’t catch up to him since she had to support Luke. So, she just focused on getting Luke to the cab.
Luke, on the other hand, also kept a secure distance from her even though he was
pretty inebriated apart from when he staggered.
Just as Salome helped him out of Moonlight, she saw a car flashing its headlights
twice nearby. Then, the car door opened, and a charming–looking woman got out.
Upon seeing the two, the woman approached them and slapped Salome without a
word.
“It’s you, isn’t it?! Always pestering him at the studio, asking this and that, even
delivering coffee in the middle of the night?! I’ve had my eye on you for a while. What
are you planning to do to my husband while he’s drunk, huh?!”
As Salome supported Luke with both her hands, she failed to dodge the slap, and her
cheek stung with pain.
Meanwhile, the woman was so infuriated that her chest heaved, and her eyes were
bloodshot. “I’ve seen many h*es like you who love to ruin other people’s families. Let

me tell you, all of his money is with me. You will get nothing from being with him!”
Salome was about to burst into laughter from anger. She only visited the studio
occasionally but was aware that a few girls indeed liked to cling to Luke. Perhaps
someone did have such intentions, but definitely not her.
Luke seemed to have come around a little as he grabbed his wife’s hand and said,
“Lacey, calm down first.”

And as though triggered, Lacey Cook flung his hand away and lashed out, “Calm
down?! How can I calm down?! Look at how shameless this b*tch is! She knows you’re
already married, yet she keeps clinging to you! So be it with the coffee and the belt, but
I can’t believe you hid the fact that she called you out to celebrate her birthday tonight
from me!”
A blazing anger swept through her, and she wished she could tear Salome’s face apart.
“Such a beautiful woman, yet all you do is seduce people like a vamp!”
Frustrated, Luke hugged Lacey and turned apologetically to Salome. “I’m sorry, Salome.
You should go first.”
Salome felt that she had indeed been unlucky that night, but that woman was her boss‘
wife, after all. She couldn’t possibly return the slap, could she?
She shouldn’t, from both a moral and logical standpoint. Alas, she had no choice but to

swallow this silent humiliation.
Meanwhile, in a car not far away, Isaac watched the entire drama unfold
expressionlessly from the moment Lacey came out and slapped Salome.
Jason, too, noticed the commotion following Isaac’s line of sight.

The wife was clearly confident, pointing at the man and scolding him while he held her
and whispered softly. Salome, on the other hand, looked like an outsider.
To think someone so young and beautiful would be willing to be a doxy. Jason sighed,
feeling fortunate that there weren’t many people around, or it would really be mortifying
if someone posted the commotion online.
Just then, Isaac withdrew his gaze icily and said to Jason, “Drive.”
