Chapter Farewell
The days leading up to my departure blurred into a whirlwind of exams, studies, and the meticulous task of packing for the impending adventure. As the final exams concluded successfully, the day of bidding farewell to my home arrived—a temporary goodbye that stretched across two months.
My family, a formidable force when it came to my protection, surprised me by agreeing to let me embark on this training journey away from the pack. Whether it was an immense trust in Sebastian or a testament to his expertise, their approval left me pondering.
Bags packed and emotions in flux, I stood in the living area surrounded by my entire family. Their words of advice, a mix of concern and love, echoed in the air. Eyes were wet, and hugs were shared one by one. The heaviness in my heart intensified, and I felt the weight of homesickness even before leaving.
Outside, Sebastian waited by the gate, giving us a moment of privacy to bid our farewells. Tears threatened to break loose as I hugged each family member. My mother, in a bear hug, whispered words of love and encouragement. My father, a pillar of strength, reminded me of the importance of the journey and the need to reach Sebastian’s pack on time.
As my bags were placed in the car, I realized it would be just Sebastian, his dedicated bodyguards, and me on this journey. Three cars parked outside signaled the presence of additional protection. My family’s concern for my safety was evident.
My father, shaking hands with Sebastian, entrusted him with my well-being. My mother and brother hugged Sebastian, emphasizing the responsibility he now carried. With each hug, a token gift was handed to me, and emotions overwhelmed me. Tears rolled down my cheeks as my father kissed my forehead, expressing his love.
Sebastian, a reassuring presence, helped me into the car, and as we settled, my mother’s last words resonated in my ears. “Inform us as soon as you reach the pack.”
The car started its journey under the moonlit sky, carrying me into the unknown. Home disappeared in the rearview mirror, and the adventure ahead unfolded with each passing mile. The moon, a silent witness to farewells and new beginnings, cast its gentle glow over the night, guiding us into the realms of destiny.
Sebastian, seated beside me in the back seat, turned to offer a reassuring nod. His eyes held understanding, recognizing the weight of leaving family for the first time.
“I understand this is your first time leaving your family, but I can assure you that my pack will become like your own,” Sebastian spoke, his voice a steady anchor in the journey. “The training will not only sharpen your skills but also equip you to save lives if needed. Feel free to reach out to me for anything. You don’t have to go through the formalities of approaching an alpha. You are my guest, and I am always available at your disposal.”
A genuine smile graced my lips at his efforts to make me feel comfortable even before reaching the pack. He continued, “However, you would love my sister’s company. She’s already informed of your arrival and is very excited to meet you. She’s been wanting someone with whom she can enjoy all the girly stuff.”
His thoughtful gesture didn’t end there. Sebastian placed a phone in my hand, saying, “Take this and keep it with you at all times. It has my number, my sister’s, and your family’s saved in it. This way, you can reach me whenever you need to.”
Moved by his warmth and consideration, I expressed my gratitude. Sebastian then explained, “As I have urgent matters to attend to, I’ll need two days before starting your training. My beta and sister will assist you, showing you around so that you are comfortable, and your initial days are well-utilized.”
