Fated Mates

Chapter Attack

The journey unfolded under the moonlit canvas, the night air whispering secrets as the car made its way not far from Liza’s pack. Suddenly, the tranquility shattered as the ominous presence of rogues materialized. In an instant, the calm ride transformed into a chaotic battleground.

Sebastian, the alpha, seamlessly shifted into a massive grey wolf, his snarls echoing defiance. His team joined the fray, engaging the rogue attackers. The pack of rogues, however, seemed to multiply, revealing a strategic understanding that they held the advantage in numbers.

Seated in the car, I felt the urgency to join the fight. A warrior at heart, the instinct to protect surged within me. Sebastian, sensing the danger, instructed me to stay inside while he transformed. Patience wore thin as the rogues continued to overpower us.

Witnessing Beta Dickson in the thick of battle, outnumbered by ten rogues, ignited a fire within me. The dynamics of the fight revealed an opportunity to turn the tide. Contemplation gave way to action. I couldn’t remain a spectator when a life was at stake.

Stepping out of the car, I embraced the transformation, the sleek form of my black wolf emerging. Liana, my ancient and intelligent companion, stood tall beside me. The aura of dominance exuded from our combined presence, a force to be reckoned with.

Ignoring the directive not to transform unless necessary, I howled, a signal that pierced through the chaos. The attention of the rogues shifted towards me, and with purpose, I entered the fray. Liana, a formidable force, unleashed her skills alongside mine.

The battleground became a dance of shadows, the clash of fur and fang reverberating through the night. My black wolf, as imposing as Sebastian’s, fought with a fervor born out of the primal instinct to protect. Together, we forged a path through the chaos, a testament to the strength that emerged when pack unity faced adversity.

The howls that had pierced the air transformed into a victorious symphony, the wolves of the pack standing tall and united. Sebastian, regaining his human form, approached me with a nod of acknowledgment. The intensity of the battle had subsided, leaving behind a sense of triumph and a renewed understanding of the strength within the pack.

As the battle subsided, the transformation left us bare, akin to our primal origins. Sebastian, attuned to my hesitance, conveyed an unspoken understanding. Wordlessly, he reached for his clothes, his gaze averted, and draped himself in the fabric of modesty.

Guiding me towards nearby trees, their branches providing a curtain of privacy, he faced the opposite direction, allowing me the space and dignity to undergo the transformation. The rest of the pack, connected through the bond of mindlink, respected the vulnerability of the moment, averting their eyes as a sign of unwavering trust.

Relieved by the considerate gesture, I swiftly embraced the transformation, the shift from wolf to human swift and seamless. With clothes in hand, I dressed myself, the rustling leaves and the night breeze the only witnesses to the vulnerability exchanged beneath the moonlit canopy.

Once clothed, I turned back to face the pack. The unspoken understanding and trust shared in that moment became a thread that strengthened the intricate fabric of pack unity. Sebastian, having completed his own dressing, met my gaze with a reassuring nod, a silent acknowledgment of the bond forged not just in battle but in the vulnerability that followed.

The aftermath of the battle lingered in the air as we regrouped near the car. Sebastian, ever the strategic leader, assessed the situation with a discerning eye. The weariness of the warriors, the potential risks of a night journey, and the lingering threat of another attack prompted a crucial decision.

“It’s not wise to continue the journey tonight,” Sebastian declared, his voice carrying the weight of responsibility. “Our warriors are tired, and if the rogues have a plan, they might strike again. We need to ensure everyone is at full potential to defend. A night’s rest will ensure our safety.”

With the decision made, our destination shifted. Alpha Ethan’s pack, the next stop on our route, became the chosen haven for the night. Sebastian, with the efficiency befitting an alpha, contacted Alpha Ethan. The words exchanged were brief but impactful—Alpha Ethan awaited our arrival and had made the necessary arrangements for our stayover.

As we settled back into the car, the air tinged with the aftermath of the battle, Sebastian turned to me with a discerning gaze. His voice, a blend of authority and genuine concern, broke the silence. “Are you alright, Liza? Any injuries?”

I could sense the genuine worry in his eyes, a reflection of the responsibility he bore as an alpha. His protective nature, though expected, caught me off guard. The fierce alpha, now softened by concern, made me wonder how he would be with his mate—how caring and gentle.

Once satisfied that I was unharmed, his gaze lingered on my face, hinting at an unspoken question. Curiosity getting the better of me, I asked, “Is there something on your mind, Alpha Sebastian?”

He hesitated for a moment, and then, with a touch of vulnerability in his voice, he spoke, “While we’re at Alpha Ethan’s place, can you... well, it’s a bit awkward. I’m not sure how you’ll react.”

Amused by the alpha’s rare moment of uncertainty, I encouraged him to continue. “Go ahead, Alpha. You can ask anything.”

Sebastian sighed, “Actually, Alpha Ethan has a sister, Stephanie. She’s a nice she-wolf, but Ethan and Stephanie both seem to think that we could be a couple. I’ve made it clear that I don’t have romantic feelings for her—she’s like a sister to me. Somehow, they’re not giving up on the idea, and it becomes awkward. Could you please stick around me so that she leaves me alone?”

I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The mighty alpha, feared by many, was seeking refuge from the matchmaking antics of a she-wolf. “An alpha, a giant alpha, is scared of she-wolf antics? This is interesting,” I remarked with a playful smile. “Don’t worry, Alpha. I’ll help you navigate through this.”

The car continued its journey under the moonlit sky, the conversation adding a lightness to the air amid the echoes of the recent battle.
