Fated is overrated

Chapter 147

Lola POV

"Are you sure about that, vampire?" I say mockingly, with a wicked grin plastered on my face and my eyes flaring up. I don't give him a chance to respond, before controlling the air in his lungs to make a few flip flops, just to show that I can. You see - what nobody besides my father and brother know, is that I have been training almost non-stop.

Not just physically and in Lycan and dragon form, but on my abilities as well. I have uncovered quite a few in the meantime. I was even surprised myself at how much I could actually do, I kept on uncovering new things whenever I got angered, which seemed to be the trigger point to my abilities. So, I started angering myself on purpose by reliving the past.

Finally, I came to a point where I could actually control it. To avoid my skills being seen I have only trained with my family or by myself, not showcasing it to others unless necessary. I have just about done about every type of training in the book, in just about every shape or form. Blindfolded, headphones with blaring music on, handcuffed, special weapons, and my personal favorite: shifting during battle and using that as my advantage.

Every species has their advantages and disadvantages, which may require me to shift between forms in split seconds in order to fight my opponents effectively. I won't rely on just my ice, elements, claws and fangs or any of the other abilities I have discovered. Who knows, I might not be able to use some of them at a certain point in time. The biggest weakness is thinking you have none.

"You.. are an abomination!!!!!!" he shrieks out. "Wrong answer, bloodsucker" is all I say before forcing the air to leave his lungs completely. He drops to the ground gasping for air like a fish out of water. "Lola don't! This will ignite war between the Kingdoms!" my father pleads with me. I shrug my shoulders while looking him in the eyes "as I heard it, they were already threatening with war. If it's a war they want, a war they will get. But I will not bring the dragon Kingdom into this, this war is personal". The vampire's son drops to his knees and pleads with me to let his father live. This book has many missing chapters and scenes if you're not reading it on [J]obnib.c[o]m. "Please don't!! I know he is an * sshole and his plans were all wrong but please don't take him from me". Tears are streaming down his face and the look in his eyes reminds me of my own heartaches and losses.

It reminds me of a time where I was without a family, without anyone to have my back. I purse my lips, before saying "control your father. I'm doing this for you, not for him" as I push the air back into his father's lungs. I keep my eyes locked at the vampire King, while he is still coughing and spluttering for air. He is slowly getting up from the floor, my eyes are challenging him to say I need to be assassinated one more time.

But he only looks to his son who is helping him up and back to his chair. He remains silent after being seated, much to my surprise. Good. I give Xena a glare for not speaking up in my favor, before turning my attention to the entire table.

I open my arms and turn to speak. "As this decision, to go to war or not, greatly affects the future of all our kingdoms, I suggest the future leaders should have a say in this. I ask of you, the heirs to the kingdoms, what is your stance?".

I motion towards the fae first to speak. The fae have a daughter who is an heir to the Kingdom, as opposed to all the other Kingdoms where patriarchy runs high. Their daughter peers deep into my eyes for a few seconds before speaking up confidently, "The fae will not be participating in war under my command."

Her parents stare at her wide eyed, but her gaze remains locked on mine, as we both nod in appreciation to one another. "I do not believe Lola is a threat and means any harm.

In fact, I believe she can do great things for all supernatural's if we put some faith in her" she adds with a small smile. I offer a small smile in return, before I motion towards the vampire heir next.

The vampires are the ones who seem to be the most instigating out of all of them. The vampire heir looks at me with a clenched jaw, still holding his father."

You just tried to murder my father! And now you want me to say no to war?". I c**k my head to the side and ask "Is he still breathing?". "Well yes, but only because I begged you!". "So, what does that tell you?".

He seems lost for words, so I continue for him and I can't help but raise my voice in anger. "It should tell you that although I don't tolerate any bullsh*t, especially after giving a warning, I was open to reasoning and spare his life simply because you asked me to. Whereas your father insisted I'd be assassinated for merely existing".

Realization flashes through his eyes and he lowers his head to stare intently at the table. He still looks slightly confused when he speaks up "I don't wish to have any loss of lives at all. Whether it be at the hands of war, or your hands". I close the distance with the young man and stand before him. He flinches at my close proximity and gulps visibly.

I put some effort into making sure my expression softens, as I don't want to scare him. "Young man, how many lives have I taken?". "If the stories are true, many warriors have died at your hands" he speaks timidly now.

"Stories are stories for a reason. I will enlighten you. I have taken 1 life. ONE. I believe that almost all of the individuals in this room - especially those calling me dangerous - have a bigger body count than that, do they not?".

He ponders on it for a bit before saying "yes, I guess so..". I decide I am going to let him brew on that for a bit.

I motion towards Felix to speak up next. Felix doesn't waste any time at all, before proclaiming "there will be no war under my command" he glares at his parents, before locking his eyes on mine and continuing.

"Not only is the reasoning for it absolutely ridiculous, I am against the loss of lives all together. And.. I like Lola" he grins broadly.
