Fated is overrated

Chapter 146

Lola POV

I am stationed outside the castle walls with my ears straining to pick up the conversation. Luckily, someone left the window open, and I can hear them talking word for word. The vampire King goes on to say how much of a threat I am to all supernatural beings, blah blah blah, and he is being seconded by the warlock King and the fae King.

To my disappointment, the Lycan King and Queen are silent as of now. My father bellows back at the vampire King how I am his daughter and heir to the throne, and that there shall be no such thing as killing me. Killing me?! No wonder my dad was so sad this morning, he knew what they would propose. The warlock King states how I cannot control my powers and how I am a liability, not even liked by my own kind. Well, that much is true, I am not very well liked by all dragons. It is getting better though, at least I thought

So.

The fae's just agree on everything being said and the Lycan King and Queen remain silent throughout the conversation. I wish I could see their faces, though. I feel a pang of hurt that they wouldn't stick up for me, especially considering the fact I am mated to their sons. And honestly, I thought Xena cared for me..

The last part I hear is how the vampires, fae and warlocks threaten my father with a massive war between Kingdoms if he does not forfeit my life. Are they serious right now?! They want me dead, just because they are afraid of me? I want to hear what my father says, before I decide to barge in.

It brings a smile to my face when I hear him seethe "make no mistake, Kings. Our kingdom may be smaller in numbers, but we will open the gates of hell if you threaten my daughter's life ONE more time!".

Time to make my grand entrance. I walk back into the castle, the place is crawling with vampires indeed. They are all looking at me either warily or angry. I just smile at them and say hi. When I walk towards the doors of the meeting room, about a dozen of vampires block my path. I raise an eyebrow at them, before asking "are you sure you want to do that?", unable to contain the smile spreading across my lips.

The vampire seeming to be in the lead scowls at me, before replying "move back, half breed". I step even closer to him, never removing my eyes from his, and stepping right into his personal space, before whispering "someone should teach you some f*cking

manners.

This is no way to speak to a lady. Let alone a Queen". "I'll let you know when I see one" he fumes back, his fangs protruding in an attempt to threaten me. I feel the power I have come to know and love pulsating through my veins, before I gather it in my hands and push it out to blast the vampires in front of me out of my way.

Not enough to kill them, just enough to push them out of my way and incapacitate them for a little while. The majority of them is either unconscious, or in complete agony.

About half of the other vampires in the hallway are looking at me fearfully, while the other half is storming towards me. I blast the ones storming towards me as well, leaving them in the same heap on the floor as the others. I look over towards the vampires who were looking at me fearfully, before awkwardly saying "hey.. uhm..

No need to fear me, guys. Not if you aren't threatening my life, that is". It doesn't seem to ease their discomfort, but hey, I tried. I turn back towards the doors and push them open with a bang, before waving my hand and using my elemental powers to close them behind me again.

I saunter in with my arms wide like I own the place, before speaking in a raised voice "you should all know, it's a very bad habit to talk behind someone's back". I walk towards the round table, facing them all. My dad and Damon are looking horrified, as are the Lycan King and Queen, Zeke and Zane. Another familiar face here is Felix.

He looks angered, but not at me, at the vampire King. They all look beyond stunned to see me here, and those who were suggesting I should be assassinated have the color draining from their faces.

Not the vampire King however, he is glaring daggers my way, and if looks could kill I would be long gone by now. Not surprisingly, he is the one to speak first. He stands up slamming his fists on the table.

"See! This is exactly my point!" he bellows, looking around at his peers. I laugh derisively "what is, walking into a room? Oh yes, goddess kill me now! How dare I?!". I fold my arms across my chest while he is still fuming in anger.

"You should just die! You filthy f*cking half breed!". I plaster a wicked grin on my face as I respond calmly, coldly "if you had said so a few months ago I might have agreed. Hell, I might have gone willingly. But, you are a few months late, vampire. And besides, I am a little stubborn, tell me what to do and I'll do the opposite"

I wink at him, just to get a rise. It hits the mark as his face contorts in anger. If steam could be coming out of his ears, now would be the time. I stare him dead in the eye and deadpan "I am giving you ONE warning to play nice here, vampire. I am good hearted, but I don't tolerate disrespect. And I for sure do not tolerate anyone trying to harm me or my family bonds".

The vampire scoffs and bellows "I do not take orders from a filthy half breed! I am a pure blood immortal, wolf. You could not harm me if you tried". Well, I have never been one to back down from a challenge, have I?
