Evil Angels

Chapter 32

Larus’ POV

It had been about over a week since the day Elijah left. I kept feeling uneasy as almost everyday I felt him get into some type of pain. Hearing his thoughts didn’t help either.

*Larus, stop worrying about me. I will be home later tonight.”

“I am not worried. Just annoyed with feeling your pain.”

Alexandra and Emma came racing into the kitchen, causing me to look up from the counter. Emma threw herself into a stool just seconds before Alexandra, “Ha! I won!”

While she was out of breath, Alexandra casually sat down in the stool next to her, “I let you win.”

“I told you not to do that.”

I filled some cups with tea and pushed them over to them. Emma smiled, “Thank you Larus.”

Alexandra’s face grew blank then looked over at me, “Shit… With all this angel stuff. I totally forgot.”

Someone is dying.

I put my mug in the sink and let my evil out, “I will go with you. You are going to need my help if an angel comes along… and my wings have been irritating me.”

“What about Emma?”

Emma laughed and nudged Alexandra, “Alex I will be fine. Andy is here. He isn’t my guardian angel for nothing.”

Alexandra nodded and stood up, “Alright but-”

“I know. Tell you if anything happens.”

I laughed at that then stretched out my wings, “I will race you, fledgling.”

Alexandra changed into her evil, “In that case I will see you when you catch up to me, old man.”

We both ran for the door then took to the sky once we got outside. It took us fifteen minutes to land in front of the house. We both changed into our humans and walked inside. The smell of death was in the air already. In the living room a woman laid already dead on the floor, “Fledgling, the soul has already left this body.”

Her red eyes narrowed on the body, “But how? There aren’t any other evils in the area yet.”

I cleared my mind and smelt the air a little more, “There is the faint smell of an angel. But I don’t hear any coming this way.”

She smelt the air, “It is getting stronger. Actually it is coming from her.”

I stared at the woman, seeing as her skin was slowly beginning to turn pure white. I grabbed Alexandra’s arm, “We need to get out of here.”

We both changed back into our evils and hurried outside. I glanced back at the woman as we passed through the door. The woman as I expected was slowly waking up as a pair of white wings came out of her back, ripping through her shirt. She stood up with bright blue eyes glaring at me, “Larus…”

Why does she know my name?

“Fledgling, get the hell out of here. I will handle this.”

Alexandra hesitated but snapped out her wings and flew into the air.

The newly turned angel stumbled her way outside of the house, “Larus… You haven’t been following the rules.”

Now we have angels, turning humans to get to us. Great.

A white flash sparked in her hand and seconds later the shimmer of an angel’s sword was in her hand instead. As soon as she got closer to me I easily pushed her onto the ground making her drop the sword. I flipped her onto her back and put my foot to her neck with my tail wrapped around her wings, “Seriously, do the angels really think a newly turned can take me out? Now tell me, what else the angels have planned?”

She actually had the nerve to hiss at me, “Never. You will have to kill me first.”

I laughed, “Oh I have no problem with that. One, I am not an angel anymore, which you guys seem to forget. Two, you threatened my fledgling. So let’s send your people a message.”

I pushed all of my angel instincts back and let my evil fully take over. In one quick motion I pushed my foot down harder, snapping her neck and ripped her wings out of her back. She was still barely alive as her mouth laid open in a silent scream. I picked up the sword that laid next to her and stabbed it into her head finally causing her body to go limp and the life to drain out of her. My evil went back into me as I looked over all the blood on me. I sighed and stepped away from the angel’s body.

What a shame, this was my favorite coat.

“You look like you need a bath.”

I lifted wings up and turned seeing another evil with long brown, messy hair dressed up in animal furs. I grabbed the sword from the angel's head and pointed it over to the evil. His orange eyes looked over me, “Woah there buddy, I didn’t come here to fight... You must be Larus. I am Jerick, leader of the Elk Ridge Horde north of here. Elijah invited me to fight.”

I nodded, dropping the sword, and folded in my wings, “Of course, how could I forget a friend of Elijah’s.”

“Well you did only meet me once hundreds of years ago. So we cool?”

I nodded again and his eyes went blank then the sound of twenty more evils flying got louder and louder until they all landed behind them. Five of them stood out as they were wearing only shorts instead of animal furs. Jerick motioned forward another evil, “This is Tobias, my mate. The fifteen in the animal skins are from my horde. The others are from Tobias’.”

Tobais stepped forward and held out his hand, “Hello, I am Tobais, leader of the Riverstone Horde. I am sorry that I could only spare five of my warriors to fight. We are already having territory wars in Canada with the humans.”

“Not a problem. We will take as many as we can get… Now how about we go to my estate. I have a feeling the angels will be coming to collect her body soon.”

They all nodded and we took of into the skies. Jerick flew next to me, “Well Larus you have already surprised me more than I thought you would have.”

“What do you mean?”

He glanced over at me, “Well an angel turned evil, I thought you would be more like the others. No wonder why you have survived this long without going crazy. You just killed one of your kind and your angel instincts are not even showing.”

He was wrong about that. My angel instincts are making me feel so guilty right now and Elijah not being here isn’t helping. Everything in me is torn between breaking down and going to kill more angels.

“They aren’t my kind anymore. No one threatens my family without punishment."
