Chapter 89
Chapter 89
The next day, as soon as Yennefer arrived at the company entrance, she was then stopped by Jonathan. When he met her, he said, “Yenny, I finally get
to meet you.”
Registering that it was Jonathan, Yenneler’s heart still ached a bit.
After all, they had been in love for so many years.
Still, she knew that there was no other way to salvage the relationship, as everything had come to this.
After over a month of a cool–down period, Yennefer learned that she just got the pain over with as soon as possible.
Yennefer took a deep breath and then asked, “Jonathan, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Jonathan begged as he used the same sayings, “Yenny, let’s make up, okay? The cool–down for the past month was torturous to me; I really love you, and I don’t want to divorce!”
To him, it was difficult to let go of the feelings after years of relationship, which lasted from their time at the university till marriage.
He felt that his life would end up as a living hell if he really divorced Yennefer
With a scoff, Yennefer responded cold–heartedly, “Since you have done such a thing, you most likely have figured out that it is impossible for us to continue. You have always known that I am not the type of person who can tolerate mistakes. I did give you a chance, though; you were the one who did not cherish the given chance. And now, you kept dragging on and unwilling to sign the divorce paper. With this immature behavior, you really deserved to be looked down on. As a human being, you should learn to take whatever comes to you.”
As she shot out her words that time, Yennefer forced herself to endure the throbbing pain in her heart.
Initially, she assumed that her heart would have calmed down if she ran into Jonathan again.
However, it tumed out that her assumption was untrue.
Her heart still throbbed in pain when he appeared before her.
This kind of pain was constantly reminding her not to continue this wrong relationship obsessively anymore.
Jonathan was her world and her past. He was her first love from her years as a student, and he was really nice to her.
This caused Yennefer to put up with everything her mother–in–law made difficult for her.
Despite knowing her difficulties, Jonathan chose to behave like his mother. He suspected that she was infertile and proceeded to betray their bond built over the years.
Yennefer could not bring herself to forgive him, no matter what.
“I won’t divorce you!” Jonathan denied it in an affirmative tone and asked, “Yenny, are you really willing to let go of our years–long relationship?”
Not wanting to speak anymore, Yennefer turned around and left the scene.
“Yenny, I’ll wait for you to change your mind,” Jonathan hurriedly commented as she walked away.
Later on, Yennefer felt annoyed as she was seated, all because of the encounter with Jonathan.
She never knew that Jonathan was such an indecisive person.
The more he acted in this manner, the more Yennefer felt like completely cutting ties with him.
Recognizing her emotions, she tried to suppress her thoughts. Once she had calmed down, she forced out a smile and went to the manager’s office
with the document in hand.
Yennefer knocked on the door before stepping into the room. The manager then congratulated her, “Congratulations on your promotion.”
“Thank you! I owe you my thanks for this opportunity to learn,” Yennefer replied politely.
For the project, she had been revising proposals and following up every day. Only Yennefer knew the hardship she went through.
Fortunately, her efforts did not go to waste, just like the saying, “Success is for those who work hard.”
Yennefer continued to chat with the manager before she exited the room.
Very soon, someone led her to her new job placement.
Time passed quickly, and it was time to clock off.
Yennefer tidied up her desk and then went downstairs with her bag.
Just as she came out of the elevator, Jonathan was there in front of her again.
“Maybe both of you should talk it out, he has been waiting at the company door for an entire day already,” Yennefer’s colleague advised, patting her on the shoulder The people there knew who Jonathan was in the previous days.
The colleague left after finishing his sentence.
Chapter 89
To be exact, all her colleagues only thought they were having a lovers‘ quarrel; none of them knew Jonathan cheated on her.
Ignoring the man before her and her colleague’s suggestion, Yennefer strode toward the other side of the building. However, Jonathan caught up and grabbed her by the arm “Yenny, ”
“Let go of me!” Her voice sounded in the lobby. Yennefer shot a frigid glance at his hand and remarked, “Jonathan, it’s already been a month. Sign the document. It’s impossible between us.”
“Yenny, are you going to be cruel to me? Haven’t already admitted my mistake? Why are you still not letting it go? Do I not deserve to be forgiven for realizing my fault and being willing to make a change?” he questioned in desperation.
It had been more than a month. With all the unanswered calls and ignored messages, Jonathan decided to ambush Yennefer at the company to look for her. Yet, he still got ignored right away. He was clueless about what he should do to reconcile with her again.
Yennefer let out a scornful laugh as she heard his shameless words “Jonathan, with the things you did, you can’t expect to be forgiven just because you learned your lesson. You cheated on me. You are the one who betrayed our relationship one–sidedly. Although I’m good for nothing, it is still impossible for me to accept a husband who has a lover. I find it disgusting! You have no other choice but to accept the divorce!”
As her insults fell, Vennefer turned on her heels and headed off. When Jonathan was about to chase after her again, her footsteps paused, her eyes blazing with anger. She warned in a threatening tone, “If you continue to follow me, don’t blame me for being rude!”
She fled the scene in her high heels immediately once she finished her words.
On the other hand, Jonathan felt heartbroken while he watched Yennefer running away from him resolutely.
He was confused, pondering inwardly.
In his heart, he was extremely reluctant to let go of this relationship.
With thousands of thoughts and regrets flooding his mind, he left, perturbed, and returned to the Zimmerman residence.
In the living room, Winnie was having a cheerful conversation with Samantha.
Seeing Jonathan return, Winnie stood up instantly and approached him with a beam on her face. She asked him in a gentle manner. “Jonathan, where have you been today? You didn’t even answer your phone.”
She snuggled up in Jonathan’s embrace with a smile as sweet as honey.
Looking at the woman who was relying on him, his expression was bitter, Jonathan reasoned that Winnie was the only reason that led him to have conflicts with Yennefer.
Feeling displeased, Jonathan pulled out his hand and said indifferently, “I’m tired. I’ll head to the room to have a rest.”
Subsequently, Jonathan walked back to the master bedroom.
Winnie became furious, as she was given the cold shoulder by her man.
However, for her own sake, she had no option but to put up with his rudeness.
As she continued to adjust her emotions, her smile was strained on her face, and her figure remained rooted to the spot.
Some time later, Samantha got up and pulled Winnie to sit on the couch. She consoled, “Winnie, perhaps Jonathan was really tired today, that’s why he was cold to you. Don’t take it to heart.”
“No worries, Mrs. Zimmerman. How could I be angry?” Winnie said with a smile on her lips. “I just feel sorry for Jonathan.”
Suddenly, Samantha thought of something and invited Winnie, “Winnie, since you’re already together with Jonathan, why don’t you stay here tonight?”
“But Jonathan-” Winnie tried to refuse.
“Listen to me. He will agree, Samantha interrupted her words with a promise.
Seeing how things turned out according to plan, Winnie nodded shyly and replied, “Okay”
Samantha smiled when she received Winnie’s answer. “Go and accompany Jonathan first. I’ll head out to do some grocery shopping.”
After saying that, she took some money and went to buy groceries from the nearest store.
On the other hand, Winnie pushed the room door open and went in. Meanwhile, Jonathan was lying on the bed, as if he was sobbing.
“Jonathan, what’s wrong? Did anything happen today?” Winnie asked. Although she knew the reason behind his mood, she chose to pretend that she had no idea.
Registering it was Winnie’s voice, Jonathan quickly wiped the corners of his eyes and turned to look at her. He suggested distressedly, “Winnie, maybe we should call this relationship off”
At the moment, all he wanted was a peaceful future with Yennefer.
When Winnie heard his cruel words, tears welled up in her orbs. She wailed and protested, “I don’t want to! Jonathan, I love you.”
Winne rushed to Jonathan before she even finished her sentence. Her arms wrapped around him tightly, and she questioned in tears, “Yennefer has been so heartless toward you. Why do you still want her?”

“I can give you the baby that you wanted. Please don’t abandon me, okay?” Winnie begged. As soon as she finished talking, she leaned in and landed a kiss on his lips. After a few kisses, she pulled away and added, “I can be a good wife and mother.”
Since Jonathan was a man, he ended up falling for her again and having a passionate night with her.
