Chapter 8 - GAME ON
At 6 a.m., I was puzzled to see Kai Winson lazily leaning against the wall wearing brown khakis and a white polo, with his arms folded across his chest and his fluffy hair covering his forehead. Despite the unusual outfit, he looked incredibly charming in those neutral colours.
"What was that with my brother last night?"
"Kai," his first name slipped from my lips, and I swallowed too stunned to speak. I blinked severally, unable to meet his gaze.
I felt his gaze on me, but standing in front of him left me speechless. I battled the urge to ask if he overheard my conversation.
"You have a habit of not speaking when asked a question." Our eyes held each other gaze.
"Aren't you going to work?" I asked.
"Aren't you attending your cooking class?" The depth of his voice sent a shiver down my spine.
We both stared at each other in silence. I took a deep breath and blurted out. "Can we go for a vacation?" I raised my brows, ridiculously waiting for his reply.
My feet tapped the floor quietly, and impatiently, but his cold eyes gave me a warning look. They scrutinized me, then softened.
"Is that all?" Kai asked. My shoulders sagged in relief.
Thank goodness he agreed. I almost sighed heavily, and that glare and wait seemed like forever.
I nodded, and he unfolded his arms, about to leave. I grabbed his shirt as quickly as I could.
I lowered my gaze as my mind was taking over me. I smiled, looking up at him. "I didn't say what country yet,"
"Does it matter?" Kai asked, glancing downwards at me.
"Actually, yes. So, you could be prepared. The date, time, and country matters, Kai. This—"
"Let's discuss this over dinner." He looked at his watch, I had no idea he had it on, all this while. "I have an important meeting to be at,"
I nodded, carefully letting go of him. I took a step backwards, and my smile never left my face.
Kai sized me with his deep blue eyes before leaving me in utter disbelief that he agreed.
As soon as he disappeared from my sight. I squealed happily. "He agreed!" I said to myself, rushing into my room. I grabbed my phone. Oh, hell, I was late for cooking class. However, I was excited. He agreed, "I have to make this trip an unforgettable trip of his goddamn life."
I threw my phone on the bed and danced into the shower. A few minutes later, I arrived at Madam Gracia's cooking class.
The car door opened for me. I grabbed my purse and stepped out. I looked around and continued with my phone. I wasn't sure which country was the best for a warm vacation. I had to browse, the weather and all that mattered.
"Mrs Winson?" I heard and turned back in seconds before my brain could access it. I was being called Mrs Winson. The name Mrs Winson was growing on me. I immediately smiled at the sight of Kylie Carter walking side by side with Alison Walter's arms wrapped around hers.
"Oh my goodness, you look dashing in anything you wear," Ailson rolled her eyes as she walked towards me at the same time, checking out my white satin dress. She wrapped her hands in mine, smiling.
I looked back at Kylie Carter. She was the one I needed if I wanted to get Kai on a good side with his father.
"Mrs Carter? How are you doing today?" I waved at her. It was impossible to break out from Alison's hold, too.
"She's not happy. Her husband left for Spain without informing her," Alison said.
We walked into Gracia's cooking class. However, my mind was on Carter. Alison seemed overly excited.

"Okay, ladies. Today, we will be trying out cookies..."
My mind drifted into the list of countries I was browsing. I needed to get a good country for this vacation. Everything has to go according to plan. It was game on, getting the mighty billionaire Kai Winson to fall for me. "Looking for a warm country for vacation?" I heard Gracia say. I immediately locked my phone as my heart had gone for a summer vacation, leaving me behind. As soon as I got myself, anger crawled slowly into my veins. "What! Are you going for a vacation with Mr Winson?" Kylie said, giggling. Shit, the whole cooking class knows, my eyes darting around as they all seemed excited.
I fixed a smile instantly, "Yeah, Kai can't pick a location, I agreed to go search for some."
I waved my hands in description and laughed faintly.
"I can help you. You don't need to Google that. Believe me, my husband and I love warmer countries," Kylie said, rolling her eyes. I nodded. This is even much better. "How about you two discuss that much later, we have cookies to try. We would start with the key ingredients, flour!"
I winked at Kylie. "Coffee?"
"I'd love it!" She giggled. I quickly took out my phone, texting Kai.
Me: I'd be having coffee with Kylie Carter, I don't need you to pick me up.
I locked my phone, but my phone pinged so soon. I opened it, and Kai replied.
"That was fast," I said, opening his message.

Kai: I can pick you up afterwards.
"Tiffany? Your basket," Alison tapped me, passing me a basket of my ingredients.
"Thanks," I pushed my phone into my purse. As I ignored Kai's message.
Two hours later, the class was over. I took my freshly baked cookies along, and Audrey was here to pick me up instead of Kylie. We drove to a nearby café suggested by Kylie.
Kylie and I arrived at a luxury café. As I walked into the café, I checked my purse to be sure I had taken Kai's black card with me. I wasn't going to spend my cash on a probably twenty-five-dollar coffee when I could make it at home. "So, what country do you already have in mind?" Kylie asked as she sat opposite me.
I looked around the café. I needed to calculate my expenses, and if I was with Alison, I had to pay for hers, I was hoping I didn't.
I was about to speak when I noticed her attention wasn't on me. She looked too interested in whatever was behind me. I lowered my gaze, staring at my phone, I needed to get my information and get out of there quickly. "What? Isn't that Mr Winson? Tiffany, that's your husband,"
I turned around quicker than I ever imagined. But the sight wasn't a pleasant one. My smile disappeared faster than ever.
It was Kai. However, the one who he sat with was Amelia Foster, his ex-wife. I blinked, looking away and facing my front. "I'm sure he has a reason," I said with the sudden urge of thirst.
