Chapter 4
Ellie
I woke up with my mother's voice calling me.
"Ellie." She placed her hand on my arm. "Ellie, honey, get up, we leave in half an hour." She spoke, but the words seemed far away, I felt as if I had just laid down, my head hurt, my body asked for rest, and it felt like the room was spinning around me.
I got up slowly and only then did I see that I was only wearing a t-shirt and panties that the girls had put on me.
"I'm coming, Mom," I replied and saw my mother raise an eyebrow.
"Quick honey, you know how your dad is with schedules, you're going to be without breakfast." She said and left the room, and I tried to choose formal clothes and put on makeup to hide the fact that I had only slept three hours the night before.
I went downstairs and had time to drink some juice before we left, I was hungover, and I needed to make sure that my father wasn't sure about that because I knew he was suspicious.
My father had bought a reserve that was next to our Pack, it is a reserve protected by the government that would be perfect for us to run, but we can't use it because humans still camp there, my father bought it and hired a law firm specializing in environmental law, to get the paperwork right and we can wall and expand the border, to make everything legal, and expanding our guard to the reserve border as well.
We were already the largest Pack in the region, but by joining this reserve our territory would increase absurdly.
We went in the 4 of us and two other guard cars, my father insisted on taking my brother and me on business transactions, and I loved visiting the city.
We arrived at a chic building, all mirrored but the reflection bothered my eyes, probably due to the hangover, and we went straight to the floor of the Harrison and Frasbintter law firm, at first it would be something quick, just signing the papers.
When we entered, a short, pot-bellied man in a suit approached and came towards my father.
"Mr. Scherer, what a pleasure." You greeted my father smiling.
"Mr. Harrison, this is my family, my wife Thalyssa, and my children Ellie and Charles." My father said and the man extended his hand to us too.
"Nice to meet you, come, I've prepared the meeting room. I also want to introduce you to my son, he's the one who will conduct the contract. He finished his specialization in environmental law this year." He said with pride as we walked through the corridors, I felt my head weighing down as I walked, the truth is that I just wanted to lie down and sleep.
We walked down some corridors until we arrived at a large meeting room, the office was very chic and large, and many people passed us until we arrived at that room.
"Scherer family, I want to introduce you to my son Louis."
I still had time to think: You've got to be kidding me.
When my eyes went to his, the smell of his woody perfume hit me.
It was fucking Louis.
The hot human who defended me, carried me drunk to the car and that I kissed.
He was my father's lawyer.
Great.
Excellent.
And he could look even more handsome wearing a suit, I sighed.
My brain locked up, I heard my parents and my brother greeting Louis, and I could only stand still, I feared with all my might that he would say he knew me.
"Nice to meet you, Ellie." He said, extending his hand, but my eyes were still wide, I looked at my parents and they looked back at me with furrowed eyebrows, not understanding why I was acting like that.
"The pleasure is all mine, Louis," I responded by giving him my hand, but instead of greeting me, he turned my hand, leaving the back facing upwards, and kissed it delicately, the touch of his lips on my skin made me lose my breath, and sent a shock throughout my entire body, my thoughts went straight to our kiss the night before, I remembered his lips on mine and I controlled myself not to moan softly.
But what the fuck was going on?
"The notary is on his way to formalize the signature, in the meantime, how about we have a coffee?" Louis said smiling pointing to a door in the background, his father opened it and we went to a pantry with a view of the city.
My father and mother and Charles followed Mr. Harrison, but I waited to see Louis' reaction.
"Come on, you must need a coffee and a painkiller." He said walking to the pantry and going to an island in a small kitchen, reaching for a bottle of water, he pulled out a drawer took out some medicine, and then poured a cup of coffee. "Hangover kit." He said softly and smiling, and it was the most beautiful smile I had ever seen.
"Thanks. I couldn't have breakfast today," I said, grabbing the water and taking the medicine. "And thanks for not saying anything," I said looking at my parents who were drinking their cup of coffee and enjoying the view.
"Are you better? Just a headache?" Louis asked me and I nodded, he was looking at me deeply and I got lost in his gaze, at the same time my eyes went down to his perfect mouth, but I remembered that I kissed him and felt my cheeks blush. "Hey, I know it was the alcohol talking." He said and tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear, I felt my entire body shiver.
I just wanted to be alone with him right now.
"Ellie, honey, come see the view." My mom said pointing outside, and I just looked at Louis as I got up to meet them.
Soon the notary arrived, and we went to the meeting room, my father discussed some clauses of the contract, and the signature was soon made.
The reservation was ours.
They still talked a little, but soon they said goodbye.
We were going home, leaving, when Louis called me.
"Ellie, I have tickets for a show today at a party house similar to the one I met you in yesterday, from what I saw you like dancing, I believe you would like it."
Was he inviting me? I wanted to say yes, but I knew my dad wouldn't let me go out alone
"I appreciate the invitation, but I can only go out with my friends."
"You only can go out with your friends?" He asked raising an eyebrow.
"Al...Mister Scherer is very overprotective..."
"Okay, the owner of the house is my client, he gets more tickets."
"Okay then," I said shrugging my shoulders, but inside I felt like I was exploding.
"Call me and I'll meet you at the entrance with the tickets," Louis said handing me the card. "See you later, Ellie."
The way he slurred my name made me melt.
"Come on Ellie." My mother called.
"See you later, Louis," I said already counting the minutes until night.
Ellie
