Cherry Dryad ( gxb )

Chapter 11

Without the slightest idea what he was actually about to see. Then she saw a strange scene that she couldn't understand even for a long time. This was because the two of them acted as if they had completely forgotten what had just happened. She picked herself up from the ground to apologize to them after a while and quickly leave the place they were in at that moment. No wonder Vivienne was completely speechless and it took her a moment to realize what had happened.

“So, was I right?,” Kasumi asked after a while, pulling Vivienne out of her thoughts.

“W-what?,” Vivienne said after a while, looking at Kasumi with a slightly confused look.

“I asked if I was right?,” Kasumi repeated as if never, not caring about Vivienne's strange reaction.

And that's because he was actually expecting it, because the bull is unavoidable. At this time, the sun completely disappeared below the horizon, and the lamps turned on one by one. Dusk was slowly falling, telling everyone that night was coming. The birds slowly began to fall silent, giving way to the howling wind. The cherry tree right behind them returned to its previous form, and no one would say that anything strange had happened there.

“Y-yes, you're lucky you were telling the truth about that!,” Vivienne finally said after a long moment of silence, breathing a sigh of relief that it was over.

“Then we don't have anything else to do here, do we?,” Kasumi asked after a while, pointing out that it was better to go home.

Vivienne had actually planned to say just that, that they had nothing to do here anymore, but she was beaten to it by Kasumi himself. As if he read her mind at least, but she didn't blame him for it.

“You're absolutely right about that, we'd better leave this place! Besides, where will you live from now on?,” Vivienne replied after a while, only to change the course of the conversation.

While she put the unfortunate phone back in her backpack because she didn't need it anymore. This was because she had absolutely no idea where her dearest mother had placed it. Hence, Vivienne had to ask this particular question, because how else could she find out about it? Although somewhere deep in her heart she felt what he would answer to her in a moment, she preferred to find out about it from him.

“What do you think?,” Kasumi asked after a while, with a slight hint of drama in his tone of voice.

“Well, I don't know... In the hotel?,” Vivienne replied innocently after a moment, pretending not to know where her mother had put it.

Because what else could she say before pretending she had no idea? Especially since she had so many questions, but she was afraid that there were too many of them and that she would alienate him a bit.

“No, silly, from today we will live together!,” Kasumi replied after a while, not realizing that he had fallen into her trap.

Not that Vivienne was going to take his word for it, which is why she made her eyes look like dinner plates.

“Please, is my mother crazy?,” Vivienne squealed after a moment, just as she realized what she had just heard.

“Probably not, because she wouldn't have had a place to put me anyway because of who I really am,” Kasumi replied as if nothing had happened, having predicted that Vivienne would react like that.

Fortunately, they were alone in this place, otherwise they would have been arrested a long time ago for being in a place that was no longer allowed. Only after a few moments did Vivienne understand why her mother decided this way and not otherwise. She just sighed quietly and looked at the now dark sky for a moment. Kasumi didn't know why, but he didn't have the courage to speak up before she did. Eventually, however, she gathered herself and decided to break the eerie silence that had developed between them.

“You're right about that, because the fewer people know, the better for you and for me. And now let's stop standing here like two pegs and let's go home where we can continue talking!,” Vivienne announced after a while, letting out what had been inside her for a long time.

Kasumi, at the sound of her words, only nodded that he agreed with her in this respect. Shortly after, he and Vivienne set off towards the house where he would live with her from then on. They walked side by side, not exchanging a single word, as if they were afraid that someone would overhear them. With each passing moment, they passed fewer and fewer people on the street, which was understandable considering the time it was at the time. Vivienne would usually be home at this time, but who knew Dustin and Madeleine would get in her way? However, there was nothing she could do about it and all she could do was move forward. This was because she was no longer alone and didn't have to be as stressed as she was some time ago.

“Can I take your hand?,” she was brought out of her thoughts only by a question asked by Kasumi himself.

No wonder she stopped for a moment in the middle of the sidewalk to look at her walking companion. For a moment she felt like she had misheard, but by the look on Kasumi's face she could tell that she had heard correctly.

“And why do you ask?,” Vivienne asked after a while, a bit confused, not really understanding why she was asking this.

“You know... I wanted to ask first rather than take your hand without asking,” Kasumi replied innocently to her question.

Due to the fact that he was well aware that she could have swatted his hand away if he did so without asking him at the time. Hence, there was no point in beating around the bush, because they were in the wrong place and time for such conversations. Vivienne, on the other hand, didn't expect him to ask her that. She didn't mind holding hands, but he seemed to prefer to play it safe.

“Sure, we can hold hands! Now let's finally go home!,” Vivienne replied after a while, immediately taking the slightly confused Kasumi by the hand and continuing towards the house.

“W-Wait!,” Kasumi gasped after a while, but Vivienne was no longer listening to him, because she was focused on getting home safely.

He wasn't surprised at all in this respect, because he also dreamed of being in a place called home. That doesn't mean he didn't realize that Vivienne wouldn't ask him a lot of questions once they got there. The rest of the ride was quite uneventful, which was good for Vivienne because she didn't have the strength to deal with stupid people anymore. They finally made it there and Vivienne was finally able to let go of Kasumi's hand. This was because she had to take her backpack off her back to get her house keys.

“I'll just take the keys out of my backpack and I can open the door!,” Vivienne announced after a long pause as she took off her backpack and turned to Kasumi.

“Sure, no problem,” Kasumi replied after a while, not minding waiting a little longer.

After a few moments of searching, Vivienne finally managed to find those stupid keys and opened the door to the house without any problems.

“Okay, just turn on the light in the hall and we can go in!,” Vivienne announced after a while, going inside to turn on the light.

“Sure, no problem!,” Kasumi replied after a while, to what Vivienne had just said.
