Chapter 12
They were already practically there, so if you wait a little longer, nothing will really change. Even Vivienne didn't notice that she was already in the living room with Kasumi, drinking hot tea. Maybe because she was behaving like a robot at that moment? Either way, she could finally talk to Kasumi in peace, because there was no way she was leaving it for another day. She wouldn't be able to fall asleep, the pink hair was one hundred percent sure of that. Ever since she regained contact with him, she had been unable to sit still. And now he was sitting next to her on the couch, carefully sipping hot tea.
Regardless of the fact that Vivienne was looking at him closely and couldn't take her eyes off him. She had so many questions, but she was well aware that he would not answer all of them. She had no intention of insisting that he answer all of them at once. The silence that reigned between them was very stressful, but neither of them had the courage to speak first. Which further intensified the already stressful atmosphere, which only made matters worse. And the wall clock made its presence known by ticking, which over time began to irritate Vivienne.
“If we keep such senseless silence, we will never speak to each other,” Kasumi observed after a long pause, finally breaking the eerie silence that had formed between them.
Vivienne was so focused on her tea that she completely forgot Kasumi existed. No wonder she almost let the pink hair of the mug slip from her hands in surprise.
“W-what,” Vivienne gasped after a while, returning to reality, and her gaze fell again towards where Kasumi was currently sitting.
“Ehhh…,” was all that came out of Kasumi's mouth, right after he heard Vivienne's answer.
In fact, he expected that he must have surprised her a bit, otherwise she would have responded this way and not that way. Vivienne didn't quite understand where Kasumi's sudden change of mood came from. Not that she was going to ask him about it because she didn't want to make things worse.
“Well, then, maybe you'll finally tell me how you found my mother, who then allowed us to communicate?,” Vivienne asked after a while, quickly changing the topic of the conversation just to get it over with.
Because I'm actually curious about how Kasumi found her mother after all these years. In the meantime, she put the mug on the table and adjusted herself on the sofa. Kasumi looked at her at the same moment and sighed deeply again. That's because from the moment he contacted her, he had anticipated that she would ask him about it. So, having no other choice, he began his story of how his clan had to flee from the humans right after they cut down their trees. And how her mother found and helped them move to a safe place.
“What bastards!,” Vivienne became offended after a while, right after Kasumi told her how he met her mother, who saved his and his clan's lives.
“You're absolutely right about that, but it's in the past and there's nothing we can do about it,” Kasumi commented after a while, agreeing with her that she was completely right.
“On the other hand, if it hadn't happened, we probably would never have met again, right?,” Vivienne remarked after some thought.
Because that was currently the truth, which Kasumi apparently hadn't realized until now. From there, after a while, he looked at Vivienne with eyes like dinner plates. And Vivienne didn't quite understand why Kasumi was staring at her, which was starting to look quite comical to her.
“That I didn't think about it either!,” Kasumi squealed after a while, just after it finally dawned on him that if it hadn't happened, he wouldn't be talking to Vivienne now.
Not to mention that she was both his first love and he was nervous that she would reject him.
“You see! Apparently we were meant to be together, because I don't see any other explanation for it!,” Vivienne said after a while with a smile on her face, while getting up from the sofa so that she could move closer to Kasumi.
“You're absolutely right about that, because ever since I met you, I knew I only wanted to be with you and no one else!,” Kasumi revealed suddenly, causing Vivienne to trip on the pavement and land on Kasumi's lap with a glide.
Kasumi, who caught her at the last moment before she harmed herself and him. And now they were looking into each other's eyes up close and he didn't quite know what to say. The blonde's heart started beating faster, and she never expected what she would hear from him. If she had expected this, she probably wouldn't have been so surprised. Fortunately, however, this was not the case and she had to react this way.
“It turns out that subconsciously I wasn't able to forget about you, so I couldn't find anyone else because I compared them to you!,” Vivienne replied after a while, amusement evident in her tone of voice.
Because that was the truth at the moment and she didn't have to make anything up about it. No matter if she was looking for a guy, she was still subconsciously looking for Kasumi. Which, as we know, she was completely unaware of at the time, because no matter how you look at it, she didn't realize it. Either way, all she could do was move forward, because, as we know, Vivienne had no other choice. It doesn't matter if she wanted it or not. And now all she had to do was focus on what Kasumi currently had to say.
“Well, then, we thought the same, and I'm glad we can finally be together, isn't it?,” Kasumi asked after a while, with a smile on his face.
“It looks like that's what the authorities did!,” Vivienne replied after a while, and then placed a passionate kiss on Kasumi's lips.
From now on she could finally be fully happy and nothing could change that. She finally got back the one she had been looking for for so long and finally, as we know, found it with the help of her eccentric mother. Which, as we know, Vivienne didn't expect at all from the very beginning. However, if she had expected it, it probably wouldn't have been a surprise at all. Maybe she was heartbroken because of what those two did to her. However, thanks to Kasumi, it was slowly healing, which in her opinion was the most important thing in all of this. She was no longer alone and could truly rely on someone, something she had dreamed of for a long time.
And she no longer cared about what happened to those people. They had a chance, but as we know, they didn't take advantage of it, and she had no intention of giving them another one. No matter how hard they tried to convince her, there was no way they would succeed. They hurt her too much for her to forgive them like that. Even if she could turn back time, she would probably behave the same way as she currently did. It was their fault, not hers, because they were the ones who treated her that way, not her, as they probably thought. Not to mention they still thought they hadn't done anything wrong and she was the one causing the problems, not them. Which, in her opinion, was pure idiocy and she preferred to focus on Kasumi, not on them, because he was the most important to her at the moment.
