Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 89
Chapter 89
Chapter 89
The next few weeks flew by. Calls from around the country for high–profile business bids had started coming in and though Damien had prepared for them before he found out about Alan, Ana refused to let him stay and take down the bids. Something about her not wanting to hold him back.
It was a good thing that most of the meetings were strung together in one week. He would have to travel all over the country, but he would also be back within the week.
“Ana, what do you think about coming with me? Our parents can watch Alan and you can work remotely,” he complained as he did the dishes. He had spent every single night at his house, always getting up before Alan. Sometimes Alan woke up before he left for the day, but it was rare.
“I can’t.” Ana sighed. “There’s too much pressure at work.”
Things had been going alright for Anastasia at work. Apparently, Carmen had opened her mouth about Ana and Damien’s relationship at work and Liam had decided to keep the two women as far away as possible. Carmen had been promoted‘ to a different department but the scope of her work was more limited than before. Not that she minded.
Ana didn’t talk about the situation and Damien didn’t pry. He had an inkling that she was digging out what Carmen was up to. She was sure it was illegal, but she didn’t have enough proof yet. Damien considered talking to his lawyer even if it centered around something embarrassing. He didn’t trust Carmen and if she was drugging men, she needed to be stopped.
“Your boss won’t allow you a week away?”
“No. We are in the middle of the project and I am the team lead. If I leave for even a couple of days, the progress will fall
behind.”
Damien finished the pan and set it in the drainer before drying his hands on the towel. “That sounds like an infrastructural problem, to be honest.”
“Well, the company has accommodated me even though I was a single mother who needed flexible hours. I can’t abandon them or fault them at such a turn.”
Damien moved behind her, looking around. Alan was sitting in the living room, playing with two cars and making engine noises. “I just want to spend more time with you.”
He reached around and cupped her breast, rubbing his thumb over her nipple until he felt it perk up. He hummed in appreciation, the warmth of his breath wafting over her ear.
Ana shivered and shifted.
“We should be done in a month. Maybe I can put the bonus weekend trip the company gave me to good use after that?” Ana said, interrupting his ministrations.
Damien kept massaging her breasts, plucking her nipple until she pushed his hands away. “You’re being annoying.”
Damien planted a kiss on her neck before turning away. “A weekend trip sounds good to me.” He paused. “Do you want me to put Alan to bed?”
Ana looked up from her documents and nodded. “Thank you, baby.”
Damien got Alan into his night clothes and sat down to read him a book. When he was finished, Alan yawned and looked up
at him.
“Daddy, do I live here?”
Damien didn’t know how to answer that question.
“Kind of?” he managed to say.
Alan bit his lip. I remember Marcus.”
Damien’s heart sank. “I do too, Alan. Now, it’s time to go to bed.” Damien wasn’t trying to dismiss Alan’s thoughts but he had no idea what to say.
“I like being here, Daddy,” Alan said, burrowing into his chest.
“I like it too, son.”
Damien tucked him into bed and kissed him goodnight before leaving the room. Ana was still preoccupied with her work when he sat down next to her and waited for her acknowledgment.
“Did he fall asleep okay?” she asked, addressing him without looking in his direction.
“I guess.”
This made Ana look over at him in question.
“He asked if you two live here.”

“Oh. What did you say?”
“What was I supposed to say? I honestly don’t know where either of us stays at this point.”
Ana was silent.
“He also asked about Marcus.”
Ana swore at that.
“Don’t panic. He just mentioned Marcus in the same conversation as living here…”
“He’s been mentioning him quite often these days,” Ana responded.
“And I didn’t know what to tell him. I was hoping you would have the right answer.”
Ana shook her head. “I don’t know the answer either.”
Damien was mildly irritated by the mention of Marcus who wanted to steal his family. “Did you get around to dealing with
him?”
“I texted him to stop messaging me and that I would reach out when I was ready to talk to him again.”
“When?” he repeated.
“Yes. When. I am not going to fight with your over this again.”
Damien opened his mouth to protest but the next words out of Ana’s mouth stole the words right away.
“So, do you want me to move in?”
“Huh?”
Ana smiled shyly.
“Did you just ask to move in with me?”
Ana tucked her hair behind her ear and the tips of her ears turned red. “I had to ask because you didn’t.”
“You want to go all the way?”
Ana nodded. “Yeah. I plan on taking up half of your closet and your house,” she joked. “Of course, I plan on keeping the other house for my parents. I want to have equal financial responsibility in the relationship. I know I can’t spend as much as you, but I am going to fight to get there,” she promised.
Damien ignored her explanations and focused on only one thing. Damien grabbed her by the back of her neck and pulled.
her to him.
“Are you done with work?” he asked breathlessly.
“I can be.”
Damien stood up, bringing Ana with him. “Good, let’s go to bed.”
“Should I take that as a yes, then?” Ana pressed.
“That’s an obvious yes, baby,” he grinned.
